  1. ruddle is a good athlete but in my opinion he is not a very good passer. I think in college he will be moved to receiver or running back. He should have a very good year next year. I am sure the state will be down even more next year. I wish him the best of luck, and maybe being from a small school wont hurt his chances of playing somewhere big
  2. This is Vic and I think that being accused of this is pretty pathetic. I was at class at Bethel College untill friday mourning and then I met up ward. I know how important that field is and i wouldnt try and screw it up. Especially cause somone could have ended there career with a broke ankle or something. I wish the best of luck to both teams. I have watched DCA play and both teams will give them and CPA a good game, so hopefully a team from region6 will pull it out.
  3. I didn't get to attend the C'Wood/Mt. Pleasant game so I don't know much about the Tigers. After seeing Wayne Co. this past Friday, I will have to go with them. They have a very quick defense and some big kids that come hard. WR Ruddle makes very good adjustments to the ball and makes some good catches. #84 played a very good defensive game against Collinwood. QB Ruddle runs hard and fights for every yard he can get. These are just a few of the good players Wayne Co. has. I applaud Mt. Pleasant for the season they are having and wish both teams luck Friday night. Wayne Co. 27 - Mt. Pleasant 13

    Bighurt...

You are correct, they are at Bethel. Their season hasn't gone the way they would have liked it to. Jacob is a little frustrated right now. He was injured 4 weeks ago in the Lambuth game and missed the next 2 games. He was ready a week ago Saturday and only got in for 3-4 plays. He had started every game before the injury, but for some reason the "O" co-ordinator didn't use him that day. Mario was injured and has been redshirted. He and Jacob have become good friends. Bethel has a very young team and play several Freshmen. It just hasn't been the experience that Jacob thought it would be. Several of the players have lost confidence in the coaching staff and the rumor mill is flying. Rumors last Saturday are that the coaching staff will be replaced after the season. Bethel has had opportunities to win some games and just didn't seem to have the right people in the game and made some very questionable offensive calls. They have played 3 top 20 teams and all 3 games were winnable. If this bunch stays together, they could compete for the title in a couple of years. I truly believe several of the kids will transfer next year even if it means sitting out a year. Jacob is uncertain on his plans right now. I just hope he weighs all his options and makes the right decision. I was very sorry to hear about CPA. Coach Pack and all the CPA people are a very class act. I hope ya'll make the playoffs and maybe we'll meet somewhere down the line. The loss Friday night was very tough, but Collinwood just didn't play up to their potential. Wayne Co. has a very good football team and deserved to win the game. Good luck with DCA Friday night.
  5. Hey Bighurt, How's it going up there in the big city? I just haven't had much time to get on here this year. Hopefully I'll be able visit more often now that the playoffs are almost here. It looks like CPA/DCA game is gonna be a big one. As big as Collinwood/Wayne Co. Best of luck to ya'll Friday night. Jacob is doing fine. Things haven't gone the way he had hoped in football. He's a little fustrated, but I think he has plenty of company. They have yet to win a game, but when you have 42 Freshmen on the team and start 8 of them on offense you can't expect instant success. The talk around campus is to look for a coaching change next year. Well, in any case Jacob has made new friends and I think it's a very good experience for him. One of his friends you should know very well...Mario Calvetti... He has been in with Jacob this weekend. They were at the game last night. Well goodluck to ya'll for the remainder of the season and maybe we'll get to meet in the playoffs again. If you play Wayne Co., be ready for a good game. They will flat get after you on defense and they have a great running game.
  6. There you go, jumped to another thread to trash talk and you were the one hoping C'Wood fans didn't blame the ref's. It is fans like you that keep trash talk going. Let the Wildcats win with class if it's possible for you to do.
  7. I hope the Wayne Co. fans don't take away from your big win by trash talking and putting down the Trojans. So far 2 Collinwood fans have given Wayne Co. the credit they deserve, but if you want to talk penalties how about the 2 late hits on Wayne Co. and the one that wasn't called. The 1st you can pass off as adrenaline on the 1st C'Wood drive. The next 2 were flat out spears. Only one of those were called. Collinwood had one for pushing Ruddle after he stepped out of bounds, but the C'Wood player held onto him to keep him from falling. Giving up the big play and the Wayne Co. defense inside the 20 determined the outcome of this game, but the ref's definately hurt the Trojans more than the Wildcats. I will say Wayne Co. was the better team tonight.
  8. This was a great football game and could have been better if the ref's hadn't had such a big influence in the game. I will say I was impressed with Wayne Co. They really get after you on defense. Collinwood gave up too many big plays tonight. Ruddle looked good tonight and was able to hit some short passes that ended up being big plays because Collinwood didn't have the coverage. Risner looked good early scoring the games 1st TD and then Collinwood went to the pass. Collinwood was inside the 15 at least 5 times and came away with nothing. Wayne Co. played good "D" and well I won't comment on what I'd like to. I feel the turning point in the game came with Collinwood up 9-6 and Wayne Co had the ball. Ruddle was pressured on the pass and threw an INT that was returned for a TD. The ref's threw a questionable flag for roughing the passer and nullified the TD and gave W.C. a 1st down. They drove down and scored and on the kick return C'Wood fumbled and W.C. recovered and scored on the 2nd play after the db stumble and allowed the receiver to get open for the TD. Collinwood came back with a TD to make it 20-15. After Wayne Co scored again C'Wood moved down the field and had what looked to be a TD catch in the back of the endzone. The ref's stepped in again and ruled it incomplete. Sorry for the play by play. Congrats to Wayne Co., but I hope you don't talk too much trash because you very well could meet again in a few weeks. Trojans keep your heads up and learn from this loss and finish the reg. season strong and get ready for the playoffs. I will say one more thing. Region 5 will not have a cake walk in the playoffs. These 2 teams, along with Mt. Pleasant will give reg. 5 a run for their money.
  9. Biggest game of the year in Reg. 6. I'm looking forward to watching this game. I think everyone should stop comparing the past teams to this years team. They are all different teams. They each won and are winning in their own style. The Trojans have had some great players in the past and have some great players now. We all have an opinion on which team we think was better, but what purpose does it serve to get on here and say which players or team was the best. I think this will be a hard nosed football game. The teams are more evenly matched this year than in the past 3-4 years. It will be a great football night in Collinwood tomorrow night. I urge everybody from both towns to come out and support your team and have a great time. I don't like to make predictions, but I will just for the fun of it on this one occasion. Both teams have great running attacks and good defenses. The team that makes the fewest mistakes should win this one. Collinwood 27 Wayne Co. 20
  10. If it makes you feel good to score against a 2nd string with your starters, then more power to you. Winning is not the only thing that matters in a game. I'm sure some of the kids that didn't get in the game tonight were dissappointed. Collinwood could have played their starters all night, but the coaches feel that the younger kids need some experience too. I've coached games where our starters only played 1 quarter. It is a great experience to see younger players get in a game and see the glow in their eyes for that chance to play. I've also been involved in games where the head coach left our starters in when it was clear we had no chance to win. Did this help our team? In my opinion, NO. We may have scored against the other teams 2nd defense, but the kids that rarely get the chance to play were very dissappointed. Everybody has their own opinion and this is mine. Putting your 2nd team in when your opponent has done the same doesn't mean you don't want to win. Like I said, if getting beat by 14 instead of 21 makes you feel good, then I'm happy for you.
  11. Actually, Moore Co.'s 2nd score came after the Trojans put in their 2nd team offense. Moore Co. blitzed on every down and put a rush on the 2nd string puntint team and the punter fumbled the ball and picked it up and ran but was dropped for a loss. Collinwood put in their 2nd team defense and Moore Co. scored with their 1st team still in. The Trojan coaches were a little upset with Coach Price's decision to play his 1st string with the game out of reach. The Trojans recovered an on-side kick and came back with their 1st team offense. Colt Risner ran the ball down to around the 15 yd line and then the Trojans took a knee on 4 straight snaps. I think the Trojan coaches showed coach Price how to win with class. Best of luck with Huntland next week Trojans.
  12. For a small rural 1A school, Collinwood ,(in my opinon) has one of the nicest stadiums in the state. Great atmosphere and great fans. I just wish they were a little more vocal at times.
  13. TrojanSportsFan, According to the school schedule I have, it's at 11:00 AM Saturday. However, it's very possible the coaches have changed it. I'll have to talk to one of them to find out for sure. If I can find out I'll let you know.
  14. OnlineLC....How's it going at CPA this spring? I know all of you are looking for another great year. I hear Ezell and DCA will be tough again also. I'll get a 1st hand look at DCA Saturday. I hope we'll get to meet ya'll again in the playoffs next year. We have really enjoyed playing CPA the past 2 years. You guys have a lot of class and are very friendly from the fans to the players and coaches.
  15. I don't know what the poll was, but Collinwood was ranked 6th in the country based on their school size. It was the same poll that Ezell was ranked in. We all know that these are just the opinion of someone and doesn't mean a whole lot. I am from Collinwood and I'm still proud of what these kids have accomplished over the past 3 years. No State Chamionship, but Champs in the eyes of all their fans. I look for the remaining players to continue the winning tradition. They have a lot of shoes to fill, but they have enough talent left over to have a very good year. I wish them all the best of luck and to the players moving on to the next level, I'll be watching you on Saturdays. Sugarpie, If you followed 1A football at all, you would have heard Collinwood mentioned with the top 1A teams over the last 3 years. They were 35-3 over the past 3 years. The 3 losses were to USJ, Ezell and Cpa. Ezell and CPA went on to win the State and USJ lost to CPA in the championship game. So, the only reason you could have for not knowing who Collinwood is, would be that you don't follow 1A football or you just moved into the state.
  16. I have to agree that Collinwood will not be as talented next year. You have to be realistic and see that they lost a ton of talent. So far 4 of them have signed to play college ball next year, not to mention the other kids they lost. I also think C'Wood will still be a very good football team. Like someone said, until another team wins the region, the trojans are still the team to beat. They do have some very good players on this team and they will be right in the thick of the 6A race. I think next year will be a very exciting season and I know the Trojans will work very hard to continue the success they've enjoyed the last 3 years. It's too early to predict a winner, but I think Collinwood, Wayne Co., and Forrest will be 3 of the top teams. Moore Co. will be much improved and I know Eagleville is new but they have a lot of energy and will beat some teams next year. Cascade is always tough and Huntland has improved each of the last 2 years. Like I said, next year looks to be a very fun season. Best of luck to all 6A teams.
  17. First off I'd like to congradulate Wayne Co. on a fine season. I look forward to the tournament and hope both Collinwood and Wayne Co. do well. Now for the comment made by "notatrojanfan" to trojanettemon. That was one of the worst things I've seen on this board. I don't know who you are or where your from, but you need to be banned from this board. You probably have been banned at some time and just signed up under another name. It's just a shame that people like you have to ruin this for everybody else. I know most of the Wayne Co. folks and I know they don't approve of this kind of thing.
  18. I am assuming yesterday that the coaches made calls to all the players to confirm if they wanted to play. I don't know if everyone got a call yesterday if they were chosen, i'm just going by what my son said.
  19. Jacob Victory was also elected to play in this game as a cornerback or receiver.
  20. Collinwood had 3 players sign scholarship offers today. Jonthan Ward signed with MTSU Jacob Victory signed with Bethel Shaun Green signed with UT Martin Congrats to all 3 of these fine young men. All of Collinwood wishes you the best of luck. I want to say to my son Jacob that I am very proud of him and all of his accomplishments. I will be looking forward to Saturday games now. Football for at least 4 more years. It's great.....
  21. Just wondering if any more 1A players have committed to play college ball yet. Signing day is coming up and I would like to know if players like AJ Blackburn, Chase Slusher from Ezell or anyone else for that matters have a college they are looking at or one looking at them. It looks like my son Jacob Victory from Collinwood will sign with Bethel College. This recruiting thing is a hard time for kids. So many schools build their hopes up and then leave them dangling. Bethel has been the one school that has been there for Jacob and we really appreciate it. I feel if a school is not going to offer, they should call and let the kids know that. It's just a shame the way some of these schools operate. I know if Jacob follows through with Bethel, he would have made a good decision. I would personally like to thank the Bethel coaches for being upfront and honest.
  22. I think a lot of schools will miss out on some of these student/athletes from 1A schools. It appears if you didn't receive a lot of publicity, you will have a hard time getting a D-1 ride. This is nothing against any other level, I just know that several of these 1A players could play at the D-1 level. My son Jacob has been contacted by some D-1 schools, but no offers as of yet. Several D-II and NAIA schools have called. He has been offered at North Alabama and some NAIA schools, but he has not made up his mind where he wants to go. This is a nerve racking time for prospective recruits and their families.
  23. Great job on the pictures. This was truly a very moving experience for all of us in Collinwood. Adam and his family showed what great courage and determination can accomplish. There were a lot of tears and hugs in Collinwood today. Adam has a long road to recovery but he is the type of kid that will not give up. I have faith that Adam will walk again one day. Thanks again for the pictures and I would like to ask for everybody to continue to keep Adam and his family in your prayers.
  24. BriC, I was just wondering how this is hurting the public schools more than the private schools. Maybe you could enlighten me on this. Hopefully a solution will be found that will satisfy all parties and these debates will go away.
  25. Does Cloudland have any football players on there basketball team
