Alcoa got some REAL speed coming from another direction.

The 1954 Alcoa team went undefeated, beating Maryville, It was their win over DB that garnered the state championship title. fact. The season was history making....big parade and they named the stadium after Coach Bill Bailey. Yeah!!!

The QB and WR made the W-T work by being able to stretch the field on any giving play. The miss-direction read and a WR that could burn was a very tough Offense to defend! Covington needed to mix up the down field throw more. It was typically on 2nd down after a 4-5 yard gain on 1st down. Then you knew it was coming. I would have threw to #24 a lot more!!! Hard to cover.

RE vs AE would be a great Game! The AE QB was a beast. Army got a great player! Surprised his is only listed as a two star?

I would move RE up to 5. Fairview to around 7. Redbank down to 8.... Top 4 are solid.

Yes,Alcoa was very young team. Four freshman starters in the championship game. Going into next season, Seniors #23,#21,#40 & #4 will be big loses on defense. Great players. Freshman defensive starters #98,#12,&#15 will return even better next season. Freshman players #7 & #42 may find more playing time at LB with #30. #33 will be back from injury and will be a big part of the defense. Not as many holes to fill on the offensive side. Alcoa will be loaded in the backfield and should have an even better passing game next season.
