  1. Congrat to the Lions! Great win!
  2. Off subject slightly, is Gardner a Senior this year? Just curious...
  3. Humboldt by about 13, I think...65-52. Really says a lot about how strong that side of the Region is! Congrats to Humboldt. Hats off to Bolivar on a come-from-behind win over Liberty, too. Just some REEL talent on that team. It will be interesting to see how far they go! thumb
  4. Camden Lions are at www.camdenlions.com. It seems like it is a way for a lot of CHS grads @ college to keep up with the team, plus grandparents & relatives of players can watch the season's progress. We have gotten a lot of email from alums that have moved off keep up with the teams thru the web site...some even in the military overseas, pretty kewl. It takes a lot of work to keep it current tho... GO LIONS! thumb
  5. Congrats to Waverly on a big win & a great season! Good luck in the post-season play.
  6. Beal was outstanding in the Camden game, couldn't make the Milan game... What kind of stats did he post against Milan? For a LOT of Camden fans: GO 'STANGS!

  8. West TN two-double ought 4: I don't have a "dawg" in the race, but HHS has improved as well! Their defense was significantly improved since week #6! I could not believe the difference. The offensive & defensive front has stepped it up big time & really are much better than reported! It will be a great game, but you may get fooled if you base your expectations on the performance of a mid-season HHS team... Good luck to both teams!
  9. Congrats to the HHS Mustangs, Coach Mansfiled, his staff & especially the O & D line! What a great game! Ya'll controlled both lines of scrimmage & never really let the Lions get their claws in the ground. Congrats to Donald & Weathers. By far the best pair of backs on one team I have seen in 30 years of HS football. Best wishes to the Mustangs to just go ahead & win it all! We will be hoping you go all the way! thumb Chin up Lions! Nothing to be down about after meeting & exceeding some 35+ year highlights for Camden football! Congrats to Coach Ward & his staff for finding a way to be competetive in every game. Congrats to the seniors on their leadership in playoff games. Congrats to the 2004 Lions team on a great season & sticking with a huge effort that started LAST December. That's what it takes to play past week #10. Hit the weight room & let's get ready for Westview, week 0! GO LIONS! www.camdenlions.com
  10. Dear old dad, Good point. It really makes it easy to appreciate what Huntingdon HAS accomplished under Coach Mansfield! We (CHS) have enjoyed this season & being in the playoffs past a 47-0 whuppin' by some team across the river in round 1, think about what HHS has been able to do! Very steady performance over a lot of years PLUS bringin' home the gold ball last year! Really does speak volumes about doing a LOT of things right. It is going to be a great game, I pray for everyone on both teams to be healthy at the final horn. GO LIONS! thumb
  11. CNL, You know, you are right. I am going to go tell Coach Ward to keep the team at home Friday night. There really is no reason to go over there, it's impossible for us to win. We will just forfiet. KC GO LIONS!
  12. IT'S SOUP! Interested mostly in 6AA & I guess it isn't as bad as it could have been...a 9 team Region, but Camden will still keep it's rivalries with Adamsville, Riverside, & Waverly. It will be interesting to see who the other 2 games will be... MAN it WILL make for some late Friday nights... GO LIONS! www.camdenlions.com
  13. Buzzpainter & Bored Guy, Thanks for the info, ya'll! Yes, I am afraid it will be flat out cold on Friday night! Just trying to give the camera man an idea on how to dress...sounds like deer stand motif will be en vogue! Thanks for the inside info on the phone line, we will come prepared. Hope we can see a good game with both teams healthy & some big hits. I am thinking this is going to be closer than either team realizes... GO LIONS! www.camdenlions.com
  14. BUZZPAINTER, Do you know the setup at the Fairview press box? Will the Camden film crew be outside/on top or inside? Thanks, KC
  15. I think Chester is prepared to play like their Playoff life depends on it! On paper, Camden should roll, but they just won't agree to play them on paper! I think this will be a dawg-fight early. If Chester gets some breaks & has some success early, it could be a very close game. If Camden takes the ball & scores & stops & scores, well, you really couldn't blame the Eagles for putting the JV team in & start workin' on the 2005 Edition of the Eagles... Either way, I am looking forward to the game Friday night. A great bunch of fans, excellent facilities, and a hard-hitting Region 6AA football game! I hate to see them go up to AAA! Coach Cupples, keep up the good work & best of luck...(except THIS Friday)! GO LIONS! www.camdenlions.com

    rocky top

Hmmmm...probably not the best HS fight song...kinda neat that the cheerleaders have a routine that they can perform to it...don't know that it inspires a HS team. If the CROWD is singing along, it's really makes a difference on the field, IMHO...think of all the soccer games in Europe, kind of neat when the fans are in to it. Sometimes it gets loud down here in 6AA when it is played. Switching to college, it worries the pants off of opponents who come into Neyland! I think it is a GREAT fight song up there just because UT's opponents HAVE to hear it 50 times a game! I'll bet THEY wish THEY had a song that "annoying" (to opponents).... ...'course it's MUSIC to MY ears! Go Vols! Beat the Lil' Red Low Country Chickens!

    Rebels on the Net

Ya'll are crackin' me up! Some of the funniest "stuff" I have seen on this site!
  18. Bandstang, Need to "check your sources", 'cause you really do have it all wrong. Josh is presently playing as a Junior & will have his Senior year of eligibility next year. Check out Josh's great freshman year on the website! GO LIONS! www.camdenlions.com
  19. Gerry B, Sure not ME forgetting the tail whuppins' at Harpeth & Lewis County! Just because someone SAYS a region is up or down one year doesn't mean anything! No, it all goes around on the W & L's over the long haul, that's for sure! thumb My concern is the travel & the associations that have built tradition & rivalries in the program going 'way back to the beginning! That is the biggest shame, IMHO. Also, the drive from CHS to RICHLAND! ARRRGGGHHH! Man, that would be tough. What ever happens will, but it kind of seems short sighted for the TSSAA to make that kind of a change! Some CHS fans are excited about recent success & it's hard to throttle it with a program that really has been down since 1965 (some success in mid 80's). The school is trying to do things right in building a winning tradition. Try to cut them a little slack, if you can...kids are cute at that age... GO LIONS!
  20. WOW! I sure hope that Camden doesn't get pushed over into a Middle Tennessee region! That would REALLY be the pits. If it IS about the money, we would sure make a lot more playing Riverside & Huntingdon as region games rather than Richland, Houston or Stewart... If McK is moving to A & USJ is moving up to AA, what is the problem with leaving it as is with only those two changes? If the worst DID happen & we ended up across the river, would you think Camden would keep the Bruceton & Huntingdon rivalries going, or take this opportunity to start with a whole new slate? I sure do hate to see this happen for "no good reason", IMHO... GO LIONS! www.camdenlions.com
  21. Always a chance! Last year's Adamsville win was a combination of Camden's defense not being able to stop the Cards combined with the offense/kickoff team not being able to hold onto the ball! Turnovers killed us! Check out the 2003 game write up at camdenlions.com if you are forgetfull. I don't remember the refs playing an overwhelming part in that game, the holding calls went against us some, but they had a score called BACK for holding... The 2004 Lions are better than last year with much fewer mistakes BUT both teams DO realize what is at stake! One team is going to be knocked 'way back on their chances of hosting a playoff game. I think Camden will win, I just hope they remember how "easy" they thought LAST year's game was going to be & have a great week of practice! thumb GO LIONS! www.camdenlions.com
  22. The HHS vs Milan thread is still there... Congrats to Milan! HHS is tough & I really thought that they could line up & just run over the 'Dawgs. Must have been a great game! On any given night...
  23. Well said! This bunch of Lions deserves a load of plaudits for getting where they are today! A lot of changes from last year & they still have found a way to win. The coaching staff has worked very hard to give the team the best chance they can to win every Friday night, & the team has succeeded in meeting one of their goals, to be undefeated when they play the 'Stangs. Huntingdon has dominated this series for the last nine years (average score 49-6!), so Camden will have achieved a huge goal in even making the game competitive! Is their season over if they get beat by HHS? Nope. Lot's of football to play & they still have some bones to pick with Adamsville & Chester County, plus a shot at hosting a playoff game... Can they win? Sure. On ANY Friday night one team can beat another! (Ask Westview!) So, it will be a good game & if the Black & Gold can hang onto the football & play to minimize errors, it could be a very interesting game... thumb Either way, I am going to be there & enjoy a hard-hitting football game! GO LIONS! www.camdenlions.com
  24. Congrats to Westview! What a great win! Way to keep believin' in yourself! A great win for the team & coaching staff! thumb
