Cascade has a good team. The running back was the best we have seen all year. Runs hard. Huntland will bounce back. They are going through some growing pains right now. I was very disappointed in the coaching staff at cascade though. I have always that Coach Parker was and is a class act but why run a fake punt up 39-0 with two minutes to go. Just didn't understand that call.

Whoever was suppose to host couldn't and that's why it was moved to CA and now Huntland b/c of flooding.

Great job by the Hornets starting out the district with a win!!! Able to overcome some of the worst officiating ever (both ways) and a tough environment.

Sadly enough, they could make the playoffs by winning TWO games which is ridiculous. I guess that's the advantage of playing in a 6 team region.

Emily will be an asset to your team. She is versatile and fiery competitor. Wish there were more like her.

Prayers from Huntland. We enjoyed competing against his teams and his son who like him were class acts and we also enjoyed having him as a baseball umpire. My heart goes out to his family(including his beloved dog that my child loved to pet at the games) and his many, many friends. My prayer is for God to pour out his blessings and to hold you close now and in the days to come.

Why does it always fall on the coaches? I have yet to see one of them miss a tackle or fumble near the goal line. Good Luck Hornets.

Culleoka over Huntland 14-2. The Warriors came out hitting and the Hornets didn't. Richland over CA 6-0. Pretty much the same story in that game as well.

Huntland beat Cornersville 8-4 tonight, and will play Culleoka tomorrow at 4:00. Culleoka beat Moore Co. 7-6 in 10 innings. Moore Co. lead 6-3 going into the bottom of the tenth but Josh Anderson hit a three run walk-off homer to end the game. Great game by both teams. Richland will play Columbia Academy at 6:30 in the winners bracket finals. Good luck to all teams and everybody drive on over to Huntland to see two good games tomorrow.

The 2 losers bracket games are going to be played on Monday with Huntland/ Cornersville playing at 4:00 and Moore Co/ Culleoka playing at 6:30. Tuesday, the winners of these two will play at 4:00 and Richland/ CA winners bracket game will be played at 6:30. Wednesday at 4:00 will be the losers bracket finals and championship of the district will be at 6:30. If necessary will be Thurs at 5:30

That is correct. Everything has been pushed back one day with no games scheduled to be played on Sunday unless we get more rain. (Let's hope not) So all games scheduled for tomorrow are now to be played on Monday but not sure of times yet.

The games for today have been rained out. The Culleoka/CA game is in the 4th inning with CA leading 3-0. The game will continue where it ended tomorrow at 4:00 with the Huntland/ Richland game following after.

Hornets got the sweep 3-1 and 9-0.

Great job all year Hornets, especially last night. If you go back and look at this thread I saw a whole lot of people saying they would beat us by as many as they wanted. Not true. Yes we got beat but I think we represented well. I am proud of you guys. Seniors- good luck, underclassmen- time to hit the weights.

I agree- I am a Huntland fun and it stinks that we are sitting at home at 7-3 when there are teams who are 4-6 and 3-7 going to the playoffs. Somethings wrong with that picture. Good luck Region 6.

I'm with you GreenMan and after watching film, I see why Ingram is one of the leading rushers in the state- He's the one scoring the 40th points (or more) when the other team still has not scored. Go get em Hornets. You are definitley one of the best teams who are going to miss the playoffs. It's a shame a possible 7-3 team will not make it.

Anyone at the game Friday night saw how good of a back Hammock is. As far as the McDonald's incident, anyone from Huntland could probably tell you who that idiot comment came from and he by no means represents the Huntland team. All he cares about is his son and that's it. We apologize and commend #6 for a great night and wish Wayne Co well the rest of the year.
