I have not been to all the games this season, but I have seen the play Maryville, Central, Soddy Daisy, and Alcoa. Out of these teams none can stend next to Maryville. Maryville could hit us from every angle of the game there passing and running was great. There defense was tremendous. Central might have had been better on special teams, I say this becouse they ran two back on us during that game. But, give Maryville's special team credit they always seem somehow to find a great kicker in there school.

Not only did Lee hit the game winning shot he also hit a foul shot at the end of regulation to put Florida up two, enough to send the game into overtime. Lee had a tremendous overtime. He had a knocked the ball out of the guys hands which would have certainly of been an easy layup. He also took a charge at the end of the game which had a big impact on the game. It is great to seem him performing so well at the collegiate level.

I would have loved to see WB come back and win that game. Blount's coach has done a tremendous job with his team this year. To get blown out by Maryville and to come back and give Farragut such a good game was awesome and exemplifies good leadership. Govman, I would agree with you about Koontz he is going to be a big player for Maryville next year. He has a great shot. He is also a very smart player.

W.B. won not sure the score Bearden won 47 or 49 to 77. It was close at halftime, but Bearden pressed most of the 2nd half and ran away with it.

Does anyone have a report on the injury that Gaskin suffered Friday night. Maybe it will not be anything major, that sure would be a huge loss to the team.

I believe that his signature refers to the recent departure of William Blount's football coach. It has nothing to do with the basketball coach.

Giles from Maryville is good. She has a very nice shot. But, I believe the true leader of the Maryville team this year would be Senior Sarah Landers. Everyone is talking about Cait and Angela this year and I believe have forgotten about her. She was out for most of last year with an ACL injury. She is probably the best overall player in the county this year. I know a lot of people will say that Cait is, but with Sarah's experience and seniority over Cait I believe overall Sarah is better. Just my opinion.

At William Blount the two big players, thus far, have been fresman Angela Puleo and sophmore Audra Mcbrayer. I have not heard much about Maryville or Alcoa. Heritage is off to a fair start. I mean if you beat Oak Ridge than you can't be that bad. I have not watched any of there games but if I had to guess I would say that Cait McMahon is leading the way for them.

I know that Maryville lost some big players last year. Will they be as good as they were last year. I have heard that they will "surprise" people. What do yall think? Is it all going to be Gaskin and Tipton? Is there anybody else that is going to make a big impact on the team.

I am not real familiar with the lady govs this year, but I believe I can offer a little insight. Angela Puleo is very good for her age, scored 25 on Tuesday night. Which is excellent, I believe, for a freshman. I don't know if she is the same caliber as McMahon, from Heritage. But she be fun to watch these two play each other in the upcoming years. I am not sure about the other girl you asked about. A better person to ask would be govman, he knows a lot more about them than I do.

I haven't heard anyone commenting on Phelps being run off or anything like that. I am glad he is not staying if his heart isn't in it anymore. I only wish he would of thought about his decision a little longer last spring. It would be great to get a good and permanent coach to fill the position. The upcoming seniors will of had four different head coach during their high school years. This is ridiculous I think.

Reeves has been faithful to William BLount over the years. But, from talking to some people close to the program White does seem like he would be a wonderful coach. I don't know much about him though.

I haven't been around lately. Has William Blount found a new coach? If not, when do the plan on refilling the position? I thought maybe govman might have some information on the matter. Did Phelps give a specfic reason on his decision to leave?

William Blount will be playing Soddy Daisy this week not South Doyle. It should be a good game haven't a chance to watch either team play this year.

I have never really liked the guy at William Blount. A lot of people claim that Jimmy Long should actually be the p.a. guy at Blount. He was next in line when Donnie Moore moved off the mic to be A.D. , but word is, this guy they've got now was a cousin or something so he got the position. I'm not even sure if the guy lives in the WB district ... he could be a tuition p.a. man. Jimmy might not have such a bad idea compared to the guy they have now. What is his name? I think it might be Greg or something like that.

I was under the impression that a few years back that the county had plans to build a new high school next to Carpenters Middle. IF those plans are still in place that would take a huge load off William Blount. I graduated from William Blount this year and I would diffently agree that there is an overcrowding problem there that is just getting worse with each new class that comes in. I was talking to a teacher at William Blount he told me that the Advanced P.E. that student athletes could take during fourth block would no longer be offered because the coaches that used to watch these kids have to fill in for the recently laid off teachers. So the cutbacks do directly hurt the students.

Sounds like we are going to be the running govs instead of last years four wide all the time govs. I believe Coach Phelps has everything running good down at WB. You recently asked for a few clues on who I am. So here you go, I know exactly who you are and was riding down the road with you when you asked another person in the vehicle if he was me. If that don't help you I don't know what well. Now backintheday I don't believe I know do I?

I saw Grider this weekend. I believe he is hanging out in North Carolina this week playing frisbee golf...if you know what I am talking about.

The word I am getting from a few of the players is that they would like to see Satterfield come to WB. Do you think Donnie Moore should take that into consideration?

Did William Blount announce who the new coach is today?

Word has it that Craig Wojo has not reported to spring practice and has quit the team is this true? This could be a big blow to the team. Don't hold me to it, just telling what I've heard from a few of the players.

I really don't think that Maryville has to recruit its players. If I had the choice to play for WB and maybe have a chance to go to the first round of the playoffs or pay tution to play for the Rebels and be in the running for the state championship every year I would go to Maryville. You get more colleges looking at you at Maryville also. If you dont believe me compare the numbers of Maryville athletic scholarships to WB's. If you care about the books at all than you will get a far better education at Maryville (this is supposedly the reason John Lawhon trasfered to Maryville).

I am not going to say that Maryville recruits one way or the other, but I do know that Sarah Landers was not recruited. She came to Maryville to play for Coach Bledsoe a close family friend of hers. 1old coach did you come home a little early from that Panama City trip a little earlier than the rest of the group with those three you were referring to.

William Blount had a lot of Seniors on both sides of the ball last year, so the juniors didn't start as much as the usually would have. A few stand out juniors from last year are Craig Wojo & Ryan Grubb. This is just two of a good group coming up. I don't think they will be as good as they were last season, but should do alright for a group with a new coach and not much varsity starting time under their belt.
