I am not from Shelbyville or near there but I think this is a very good topic. It seems to me just from reading on here that the Shelbyville "recruiting" case is much like the one at Oak Ridge. I dont know or dont have many facts about the Oak Ridge coaches or who they have recruited but I do have to say that I believe it is wrong. Melissa Uner from Sevier County High School was recruited by Oak Ridge her 8th grade year at New Center. Coach Prudden was at Melissa's AAU games and such and tried to get her to go to Oak Ridge. In my opinion Melissa made the better choice to stay at Sevier County. She has had a wonderful career there and hey, she even has a gold ball. She has got just as much exposure as she would have gotten at Oak Ridge if not more. I guess what I'm trying to say is, that if these talented girls that are being recruited would just say no then Coach Insell's recruiting system would not work therefore the teams these girls play for could very well make a run at the state title just like Shelbyville does every year. I'm not saying that if my child had a choice to go to Shelbyville or somewhere else and it was in the same county I wouldnt send my child there. Thats like saying if my child had the choice to go to either Sevier County who has a gold ball or Gatlinburg Pittman I would make her go to GP just because thats where she "should" go. The big problem comes when coaches "recruit" young ladies(or young men) from other counties...now.. I DO have a problem with that.

Actually giginago41, I have been a born again Christian since September 25, 1995 so please please please dont question my faith. But it is nice to have someone praying for me because we do all falter at times. Anyways, I did not mean for it to sound like I was chewing you out. I was just trying to get one thing across...give people respect where respect is due. Scoring 42 points in a game is quite an accomplishment. Hey. Can I ask a question...whats your high scoring game? Alright I dont think near 42. Probably 8. We all know that you play for Seymour...well probably sit on the bench but you need to learn to grow up and give respect where respect is due. Learn to realize a great accomplishment when you see it. Not bash people just because they are not from your school or play on your team. Anyways on to something that actually matters..... Brooke has had an extremely good high school career. She can dominate any team in the state and I dont care what anyone thinks. Loretto or whoever....(by the way...you lost.) Anyways, congratulations to Brooke on a marvelous high school career and the best of luck to you at Carson Newman. You are a talented athelete and a very well rounded person. Good Luck! It's also funny that SG pressed the whole game and played man to man defense while Pigeon Forge sat back in a zone. Yes, most of the time you can blame PFs fouling on their pressing the whole game but in this game they did not. And as for using language, ask #21 (Brittany I think)...and #22 (Megan I think) what they shot out of their mouths during the game. Both used the B word at least twice and Brittany even threw a "shut the F up" so please dont say anything about cursing when your niece is also doing it as well. I will say this though, both girls were apologized to after the game as did they and everything is fine now. PFs girls really like the South Greene girls. It's just some of their fans who are rude. One of the elderly men who always sits on the front row pointed and laughed at Kendra when she tried to take a charge and called her a B at South Greene. Now thats just rude. And as for us cheering for our district...I was there cheering FOR South Greene last night and the rest of the District 2 teams and I'm sure if you were there you saw me. So, with that said. Let's go play hard and play our games and do our best to make it past Elizabethton and Unicoi into the Region championship. Wouldnt it be nice to have two teams from our district represented in the sub-state. GO LADY TIGERS & REBELS!

It's funny to me...no actually a joke that someone has the nerves to get on here and say that South Greene's JV could walk through the Region...Seems to me Pigeon Forge's JV beat them by 25 AT South Greene. If your going to talk smack.... Make sure you can back it up. Bring on South Greene's JV. Any team in the District...or Region would beat them 20! Ha Ha! What a JOKE!

Pigeon Forge heads into the tournament in first after beating South Greene tonight. Shouldnt have been as close as it was. PF pulled the lead out to 15 in the second half. Needless to say we were in Green County. Congrats Tigers!

I played against Cait in middle school and I have to say that she is a class act. She may have made one mistake but she cant take that back. I mean it wasnt JUST Cait. You seem to forget the rest of the team was in on it as well. Just because she led her team to a 20 point beating on your home turf doesnt give you reason to blame it all on her. And by the way they were not "jumping" on the state emblem. They were on their knees with everyone holding hands...what they were saying...who knows? But even Sevier County's principal said thats what they were doing. There was no stomping. (Maybe jumping around after they won. Hey, I would do a little jumping if I beat Sevier Co.) And by the way, the Lady Mountaineers faxed the Bearettes a letter today apologizing. They have apologized...what more do you want? For them not to play their hardest just because they kicked your butt? Get over it. It's over...they apologized. LET GO OF IT!

Pigeon Forge sent the Patriots home in style. If you combine JV,Girls, and Boys Union County lost by over 100 points tonight! Keep playing hard guys!

Sounds like to me that Sevier Co fans are just a little down due to their teams poor showing this past week. Just put the past week of butt kicking behind you and move on. Accept that your team lost and concentrate on what the problem is. Not things such as this. Maybe your team chemisty? Maybe a big head? Sounds to me something needs to be figured out and all the whining needs to cease.

Sorry Kev. I just dont agree with you. You can cry home cookin all you want but the fact is when it got down to it the Pigeon Forge boys outplayed your Rutledge boys. Just because Coach Harper likes this guy doesnt give you any reason to cry home cookin. I'm sure Coach Harpers not going to flat out say he doesnt like any ref. Ya know that could come back to haunt him like it did the girls last year at the District Tournament. Don't be down on those guys they played just as hard as your fellas and deserved that win. They have worked so hard in the off season and this season. Most of the boys I saw at the community center all day everyday during the summer just working on their games. Pigeon Forge got home cookin against Rutledge? Thats easy to say when you are from Rutledge. The fact of the matter is, your boy Singleton is the only one who came to play that night and Pigeon Forge had some people step up big that usually arent in the mix. And as for Union destroying Pigeon Forge at Pigeon Forge, well we'll just wait and see. Union was beat by the worst Gatlinburg Pittman team that I have seen in years and even their coach says it. If Union's big boy inside {Bennett maybe?} would wipe off some of the cockiness {sp} off I think they could do a little damage. But when Dewyse and Norris come out to play on any given night no matter where the game is the Tigers will be a hard team for anyone in this District to beat. You saw how Pigeon Forge's fans got into Union County's heads AT Union, with the players looking into the stands, just wait until you make the travel to Pigeon Forge and visit the Maples Maniacs. On another note, dont overlook GP in anything. We see how they already beat Union County this season. With their superb coaching from Coach Wright and their young team, they will continue to improve throughout the season and should be at their best around tournament time.

Alcoa is ranked and Pigeon Forge isnt? Pigeon Forge beat them. They have been beat by a few teams that arent on there. Please.

Alright, I dont see the big deal with Oliver Springs. We played them in team camp and beat them. Yea, Laura Hall is good, but definatly not unstoppable. She doesnt have all that much to back her up and their bench definatley isnt very deep. Oh well they may suprise me. We'll see.

Kendra Newman of PF- can shoot the lights out. excellent and seeing the floor and has some amazing passing ability. Gets out and gets the fast break going. A truly wonderful on court leader. She may not be in the top 10 or 20 but definatley an awesome player.

Thanks for all of the prayers everyone for Shane and Mark and the rest of their family. This week has been the hardest week I think for anyone at our school. The whole day Monday was spent conseling and just being with friends. At the beginning of the day Coach Schrandt held an assembly for the whole student body. You could hear a pin drop in the hall as he released us from the gym. I know that Shane and Mark would appreciate all of your prayers as they are both hurting tremendously. Our whole school needs your prayers as Jordie wasnt just "a freshman" he was a big part of our school. He always had that smile on his face and he impacted alot of people in his short life. But we look at it now as not a goodbye but a see ya later because we know that one day we will be in heaven with Jordie worshiping God.

Hey susie...umm you just need to be quiet because you have no idea whats going on in Pigeon Forge. If you think that Coach Schrandt fired Coach Cross so Zach {his son} could play quarterback dont you think thats where he would be this year? Oh wait, you didnt think about that before you opened your mouth did you? Do you know how he teached? Well he showed his kids game film every thursday, and other vidoes the rest of the week. Hmm...sounds like you would learn alot off of videos instead of him actually teaching. Could that have been a factor? Yes!
