? Should the News Sentinel report the suspension (indefinite and for the first 1/2) of high school players (15-18 year old) ? What is next-- a JV player is tardy to practice -he will not start but will play ? A long story this summer on a West player taking a trip. I would rather see 17 100 word stories on 17 different players than 1 1700 word story a one player. ? Oswego ?

The HOME team rule has changed. Before cell phones-the away team would get back to the school too late to make deadline. But now with every coach having a cell phone it is better for the winning team to call in the game. Or at least thats the way the teams around here operate.

Every town that has more than one high school claims "the other school gets more coverage" It is the high school version of "we get no respect" I have never met B. Trent but just from reading the paper- he A works hard B is fair C cares about the kids That is what you want from a high school sports editor B. Trent has my respect One high school VS 3 high schools ANSWER: one high school 2 campus 9th and 10th grade @ West campus 11th and 12th grade @ East campus

Are Webb, Catholic and CAK in West Knoxville ? These programs are drawing from West Knoxville. Where would the Smith kid from Catholic play if he was in a public school Could he help Farragut or Bearden ??

Has anyone noticed that Drew has been demoted? Looks like he is now the bottom of the rung guy covering UT. Smithey is the lead for high school sports. He has to be an upgrade. Tired of hearing all the excuses about how hard it is to cover HS. They were tho ones that wanted to expand their coverage "PREPXTRA" Knoxville teams think they are getting short changed with coverage. Outside Knoxville knows we are undercovered. Just glad the TRIBUNE does a fantastic job covering Morristown. What do you think OSWEGO ?????

It is all about recruiting advantages. Just like colleges being on TV Knoxville high school is about radio coverage. It is about your school looking better than the competion. Coverage, pregame meals and weight rooms. Middle school kids taking recruiting visits- just like their high school heros taking college visits

Although Catholic competes vs PUBLIC schools --Knoxville Catholic is a private school. I am sure they view the radio broadcast as a recruiting advantage. Just as I am sure that Central viewed their past replay broadcast and Fulton the Comcast TV broadcast and the Knox County Radio Broadcast. From what my friends in K'town tell me everything in Knoxville is about who gets the players.

On the way out the door - going to the White Pine Hardees to see what the boys think. Thought the News Sentinel Maryville story was out of line. These are high school kids NOT UT Vols or NFL players known statewide. Not excusing their actions but do we need to know what high school kids did this past weekend. The headline makes it seem worse that what it was. Tell me if I am wrong. Just wondering ???

Central has a great Head coach and a tremendous staff. Don't Know about the injury situation- but they will have playmakers and Coach Helton will put the ball in thier hands. Tough test this week in KY. Central will finish 2nd behind Maryville. They will finish with 1 or 2 L's. The Mo West Trojans have great respect for the Bobcats. Good Luck !!!!!!

Maryville and MO WEST have a great respect for each other. Nobody can beat Maryville and only Maryville can beat the Trojans. Anybody have the record of these to coaches?

This is why a scrimage is more about your team than the opponent. Each coach will spin the results to what his team needs- a boost of confidence or a kick in the pants. A fan for team A has no idea who the 1st team or who the back ups are for team B. Usually the fans /parents are the only ones keeping a score. Sure that DZ is just providing positive encouragement for the Patriots-before the get beat by the Trojans.

I have a ton of respect for HTV. He is always above board, honest and looking for the best interest of those that he cares for. Would like to hear his thoughts concerning this weeks events.
