  1. yeah the whole travel thing really gives the home team a huge advantage and i do remember in '05 how BA had to come play CBHS like two weeks in a row i believe. good for us (CBHS) but i did feel bad for BA. can anyone point me in a direction of an explanation of how this year's playoffs will work???
  2. yup always good to see some memphis guys getting to play at good programs.
  3. after witnessing the brothers' loss to melrose in the bridges bowl and then this game, i think the brothers have come a long way in a short while. they looked for real out there, especially since they are winning with both defense and OFFENSE for a change from the past. keep it up brothers.
  4. i think cbhs might have either a new TE or LB that is pretty young and good. i have also heard lots about watson tranferring to melrose and then to Olive Branch, but apparently he is still at cbhs. being a cbhs alum '06, i'm not real up to date on what's going on with these two teams any more, but it should be a good game as always, since this is like a mini rivalry.
  5. Well looking at their schedule seems they've been playing well - hadn't really thought much of them until you mentioned it. I guess I just assumed they were 'okay' because they haven't been one of the superpowers around here. Should be a good match-up then!
  6. Wow, I might be spending my entire Saturday at MUS. I like those match-ups but I would have liked to see St. George's take on R-E or Hamilton.
  7. St. George's plays Central Saturday and that's their only non-D2 game over the break. Having seen ECS and St. George's both multiple times I thought it would have been a 15-20 point game easily with Bowers and Williams being so much taller than any ECS player with extended minutes. And Stringfellow is a 6-7 soph. transfer from Arlington who'll be eligible Feb. 4 I believe, if not earlier. Supposedly he'll be 6-9 or taller by next season.
  8. Well St. George's won't last too long high on the list after losing at ECS tonight in OT. Pretty big shocker, Williams had a good but not great game. Wasn't able to take over the game like I saw him do against SBEC.
  9. yeah, exactly. high school basketball used to be huge in The Commercial Appeal in Memphis. The Memphis Tigers would recieve the most coverage. Now that the Grizzlies are in town, they recieve the most coverage, the Tigers second and HS sports recieve a raw deal. Pro sports dominate.
  10. mmmm...not this year, but i would usually agree with that. i wish there could be a game between like the 5A champs and D2AAA champs at the very end of the year. it'd be a great game every year oh and i think Brentwood will pull out a squeaker. i hope they will broadcast the games again this year on tv
  11. Yeah that seems fishy. Watson was out, but I wouldn't think it hurt the Brothers THAT much.
  12. hooray! CBHS gets to crush Saint Benedict in football every year now.
  13. CBHS Linebacker Chris Walker = one of, if not the most recruited player from Tennessee. offers from Memphis, Ole Miss, Alabama, Miami and many many others. i know some schools, but not for a fact and i don't want to wrongly put a school that hasn't offered him a scholarship
  14. Anyone have a score or go to the McCallie/ECS game? Sounds like it was a pretty hectic finish. Good luck tomorrow Eagles!
  15. Chris Walker (MLB) from Christian Brothers will be one of the top recruits from the state in 2006.
  16. Rest in Peace Chris. He was a wonderful guy whom everyone liked. My prayers go out to the Mosby family during this time. Chris Mosby - Always a Brothers Boy.
  17. i know that there are A LOT of people going from Christian Brothers. None of the current students have ever been to the state championship, so everyone is pumped up for this. TIDE ROLL!
  18. i think that this is the year that the rest of tennessee finally gets the gold ball back from memphis. (00' White Station, 01' Bartlett, 02'-04' White Station, 05' Ridgeway) Hamilton seems to have the best shot from memphis, but their coaching may be in doubt. Good luck everybody! disregard my sig. that's for CBHS football, where i go to school. We're in the state championship, woohoo!
  19. I think that CBHS established itself as a complete team with John Micheal Skinner directing a better passing offense going 10-14 with 114 yards. Still, i don't think the combined score of the game will top 20 because of each teams' great defense. I really can't make a prediction because of how close these teams are. I do hope that the brothers finish a great season with the state title. It should be a great game. TIDE ROLL!!!
  20. john michael skinner has the ability to pass the ball pretty well, but he must play smart. just step back, stay calm and make the pass. he tends to get happy feet, but if he can just stay calm, he'll do well.
  21. Both games this friday night will be incredible. There will definitely be some crazy things going on in memphis that night, which is unfortunate for those who can't make the trip. i will be there supporting our fellow brothers against Brentwood Academy. This game is going to be great due to BA's determination to gain revenge after two weeks ago. However, the fact that BA has ended our season the last two years will get the brothers ready to fight. This is game is a complete tossup due to all of the effort that the teams will be giving. I can't wait 'till friday night. Let's go CBHS!!!!!!
  22. since when is there class between MUS and CBHS? it's nothing new. we've got bragging rights this year, just like MUS had them last year. it's a friggin rivalry.
