Milan defeated GC today 9-0.

Watched Crockett vs Milan today. Pitching duel till base running errors, fielding errors caught up with Milan. Milan had the game won 2 -1, after CC was up 1-0 in the 6th I think. Milan was a sleep on the bases and CC ended up winning 4-1 in 10.

I've already told you guys NSHD is taking the SGHS job. He got the players to be named later rights , in the Pate, - Reedy trade and named H Butler, etc. He is building a 50,000 sq ft. house for Fussell , Reedy, Griffin, Glenn, Rechis to live in. Mayflower has been scheduled. He has airline tickets for he and Union coach Campbell to go to Kenya bringing back the 3 - /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> 7 footers a year before they go to UU, to round out the SGHS team.

Something I have asked the T$$AA directly for years with no answer. Why are there 5 football classes and 3 basketball classes, when TN has 53 more basketball schools in the state than football schools? Don't make sense. Make 4 classes in all sports.

The one thing I would like to see, is seperate the East teams from the west teams on the 1st round. Still draw the 1st round out of the hat, but it would be East vs West. That is what we all want to see anyway , right? Then if it ends up all west or all east in the final rounds, so be it. Of course it would have to be set , so that teams from the same district or region would not meet until the finals.

HF must be a mystery team, as they beat a favorite to win it all in Marshall County and then sqeak by an average team in camden . Picking Sg as HF may have had their 15 min

One question for the East , are the other teams as good as McMinn? McMinn had one of the better teams at state last year. IF all are as good as McMinn you have a chance. IF you can't say that expect to get blown out, unless the kid doing the drawing today, loads up one side of the backet.

Gibson County got off to a slow start and then in the 2nd qtr hit their stride and won 72-38 MW led until the end by 7-9 points and then ended up winning in 3OT's with Rechis on the bench and Olds hitting a big 3 at the end.

District 13 AA teams have a tought enough schedule, with just disctrict games alone and their local rivals. Example Milan as all teams are is limited to 26 games: 12 games vs 13AA 2 games in county Christmas Tourn. that includes, Gibson Cty, Milan, Humboldt, Bradford & Trenton all of whom are competitive. 2 reg season games vs West Carroll who both teams won their district this year 2 reg season games vs Humboldt who are both top 10 state ranked 2 Union Christmas Tourn games for the girls and 2 for the boys in a mid state Christmas tourn, who you have no control over the draw. 2 reg season games vs Trinity Christian which are in their regional tournament 2 reg season games vs Lexington, which are former rivals in the previous 14AA district that came down to Lex or Milan 1 vs 2 every year. 2 HOF games with who is different every year. Should Milan ever want a change it will be near impossible from now on ,as the brilliance of T$$AA has Milan in a 10 team district now. So 18 games will be district games and 2 to 4 at Christmas or HOF and only 2 other local rival games. I can't wait until we have a 2 week span in Feb of bad weather and have a full schedule of district games and then have 4-5 makeups. Would have to play 1/2 of a season in 2-3 weeks. Brilliant!!

Milan won the district tournament, Milan had GC down 20 in the region, Gray got in foul trouble, and the game changed. Just as if GC loses Butler, there tide will turn (hope not). I don't think GC wanted to play Milan again. I'm just saying the way the game was played in Memphis, it took a couple of savy seniors in Poston and Gray to make sure they came out with a win and I don't think there was another 13AA team that would have survived. If you check the books, very, very few 13AA teams have survived the trip to Memphis.

GC would not have made it out of Memphis last year, had they traveled!! Milan played 1 of the 2 best games all year down there to advance. But things change and GC has the best opportunity of anyone in a long time.

Going to Memphis to play is different. Horns going off, people running on the court, clock not starting and stopping as it should, metal detectors, etc. (a lot like the ole barn)

Do not count NS out. Most dominate rebounding team I have seen all year. And since MW doesn't have a lot of size, they better not miss the 3's. NS is not pretty, as it usually takes them 2 -4 shots to score, but man can they rebound. And I know Haywood is gone, but with their speed and athletic ability, if coached by Russell, the rest of the teams could have packed it in.

Seem,s like i remember in 02, s side boys were granted an exemption to play a sub state game in giles cty.

they could play 4 games in one day, would have to clear the gym, for the 2nd session. not good, but an option
