  1. I know Krich and he is a class act guy. He is not trying to use any kind of reverse psychology, he is sincere in what he says. I am thankful for all the coverage that he and the rest of DoublePlay has given to Cloudland throughout the season. I can remember a time when we all complained because no one gave Cloudland any coverage. They do a great job of mentioning all the kids throughout the county but Cloudland just happens to be on top in football so they get a little extra exposure. But trust me, he is a DIEHARD Ranger and a very supportive dad. He can sit next to me on the bandwagon anytime he wants. I think it is great that we actually have support outside of Roan Mountain. Ie3, it would be great to see you again. Good luck to your son and his team.
  2. ETSportsEditor-Thank you for your kind words about the cheerleaders. I have not seen the DoublePlay yet to read the article about the game but I was able to preview the story about the girls before Tim printed it. I really appreciate his support for all Highlander athletic programs. I look forward to reading the rest of the paper this evening and it is good to hear that he was able to put his emotions aside and still be objective. I am sure that was a tough job all things considered. Hopefully, we can put this behind us now.
  3. They went from being VA 1A state runner up last year to 1-7 this year. I heard they have had a lot of players that have quit and they are really struggling right now. This is a big disappointment because when this game was scheduled we all expected it to be a barnburner. But who knows anything can happen so we'll just have to wait and see. Just hope for a nice safe trip and no injuries on either side.
  4. Awkward? Nothing awkward on my end. I don't call the plays, I just tell the cheerleaders if we are on offense or defense. Krich is still my buddy and I still owe him a hotdog because he wouldn't come down out of that roost long enough for me to pay up. I am truly saddened that there were so many injuries and very disappointed that they did not allow the clock to run. I hope that all of the players that were injured recover quickly. They are a fine group of young men. We all have differing opinions on this matter but there is nothing that any of us on this board can do to change it. I'll continue to support the Rangers and any other Carter County teams when they play anyone other than Cloudland. As for KRP and 4Life, who cares? Let'em make all the statements they want. What they have to say doesn't amount to a hill of beans and the same goes for the polls. Nobody is going to be able to say who the best TRULY is until December.
  5. Dane Christman-Cloudland He has 93 tackles and 5.5 sacks this year. He was nominated last year as a junior and was runner-up.
  6. Idunk-I'm just curious as to why you don't think that they seem to be as focused as they need to be. I'd like to hear your take on things and what you have observed.
  7. Gee that really says a lot for you then. I can't imagine why any moderator would feel the need to delete anything that you have to say. You are entitled to puke whenever and for whatever reasons you wish but somehow I don't think that your distaste for the new Stoney Creek/Roan Mtn alliance is going to get this thread locked. I don't know what you have been taught but it is okay to be nice to people that are different than you.
  8. You sure are a smart guy. How'd you ever figure us out? We really can't stand each other and we just get on here and pretend for your benefit. Perhaps you should report us. I am sure that there has to be a "CoachT Rule" against being too nice. If you don't like it, maybe you should stop reading it and go puke.
  9. Hey, this guys idea sounds much better than cold hotdogs! As for their picks, it was all good natured fun. They both have kids that go to school there and wanted to show support for their team. There is nothing wrong with that. They knew they were going to take some heat over it but they can handle it. In the past there have been lots of fierce rivalry between Cloudland and Unaka. Mostly on the basketball court. But times are changing now. Unaka is turning their football program around and we are very happy for them. Not so happy that we would want to lose to them but happy to see them improving. You can bet that they have not been overlooked this week. They have some talented backs and I know that they are not being taken lightly by the Landers. There will be a war on the field but I hope that it will all be left on the field at the end of the night and we can all have cake and ice cream afterwards. Loser buys.
  10. Good one! That's catchy, can we borrow that?

    Pujo

Finally! Looks like things are looking bright for the future. Congratulations! For all of you that don't know, "Mrs. Pujo" is way tougher than Pujo. I'm sure she came through it like a champ. Glad to hear everyone is doing so well.
  12. Good luck tonight guys. Stay healthy. I hope you have a happy Homecoming!
  13. Tdog-Thanks for the offer. That would be great. The girls would be overjoyed and I am sure that their parents would be very appreciative also. I will get back to you about that. Mexican Food, my all time favorite! Count me in!
  14. Geez! You know, we have established the fact that he is a great writer but I am not sure he can read. How could you miss my sign? Your hotdog and coke was all paid up and now it seriously is cold because it is still waiting, unclaimed, in the Highlander Concession stand! I tried, I really did try. (big sigh)
  15. Goooooooo Rangers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck and have a safe trip!
  16. TEAMWORK! That is what makes the Highlander program successful. They have been taught by their coaches that there is no "I" in team. They work hard in the off season, they have good coaches, the parents let the coaches coach and the fans are faithful. It is a very balanced mixture and makes for some very exciting Friday nights.
  17. Awww he's blushing. Nope Sportswriter I've never met either of them before but I will say this. Through CoachT and this message board krich has really became one of my best buddies. Reading his posts and his articles are a pleasure. I have nothing but the upmost repect for him, CoachTdog, and ie3 because you never find them bashing the kids. They don't say anything unless it is something positive. I really appreciate that because a lot of people come on here and run their mouth and have no idea how some of this trash talking can affect a young kid. The thing that I admire most about Kim is the fact that he stands behind his team no matter what and always has words of encouragement. Now that's what I call a real cheerleader! Krich-you have a lot to be proud of so enjoy your 15 minutes on here and take a bow cause in a little bit we'll be back to giving you a hard time. Thanks to all that you do for all of the kids in the area. Chris and Andrew are lucky to have a dad that takes such an interest in their lives.
  18. I'll second that and not just because he is my bestest friend either. :justwrestle: Seriously, he does do a great job and he deserves a pat on the back for it. I look forward to reading his stories each week. Thanks Kim!
  19. Awww thanks for the concern. What a pal! I am getting old you know, this ride is going to be a little harder for me this year. They could all learn to lighten up couldn't they krich? I know I am slipping and getting a little senile but didn't this discussion begin as a Cloudland/Jellico thread? Does it always have to turn into a Cloudland can't play with any of the other teams except the poor little teams from the East thread? Can't we just save this for the playoffs. It sounds to me like everyone is counting their chickens before they hatch. At this point, none of us are there. South Pitt and Boyd need to worry about each other and not bother will Cloudland for awhile. Besides if I remember correctly Csense started this and Csense is neither a Boyd nor South Pitt fan, he's just bored and wants to get everyone all riled up.
  20. I am sorry to hear that. I'll keep him and his family in my prayers.
  21. I'll tell you how bad it will be. It will be so bad that I predict that my back will hurt for at least three days after that bus ride. As for the game, I look for the Landers to have a better defensive showing this week than they did with Cherokee. I also hope to see Johnson and Buck gets lots of playing time in the 2nd half. Go Landers!
  22. Uh I do believe this is a football board not English class. Good job Landers! Anybody know if we've got a little Pujo yet?
  23. Did you buy a ticket? We left a sign (aka gift certificate for free meal) hanging on the ticket booth so you would see it first thing. It was all paid up for you in the concession stand. I can't believe you missed it!!! I fully expected you would make an appearance but you never did. I was in my usual little spot all night yelling very loudly. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the game. I know I sure did!
  24. Thanks to everyone that showed up for the bonfire last night. The boys built a nice teepee and lit it up. We had a pretty big crowd. Special thanks to the band and Mrs. Hurter! Hope to see a much bigger crowd that is prepared to make a lot of noise later on tonight.
  25. Johnson City Press is picking Cloudland 29-20
