  1. Congrats to Perry County for a big win.
  2. It's a wonderful cliche. Physically? No, it's not possible. Psychologically? Yes, I think it is possible to a degree. IMO, the saying represents digging down and giving more than you thought you had.
  3. - Humboldt/Westview. I don't think this one is going to be close. Although their defense is good, Humboldt is having way too much difficulty scoring to have a chance at beating Westview. They've averaging just 14 points per game, and that won't get it done. Westview 28, Humboldt 6 - Milan/Union City. Milan certainly didn't impress much against Manassas, but that may be more attributable to an emotional downswing after the big win over Westview in week 2. I think the 'Dawgs are back to form, and squeak this one out. Milan 27, Union City 23
  4. Perry County is improving, that I can agree with. But I've seen both Perry and TCA play, and I think TCA has the better team. It'll be close in the 1st half, with TCA pulling away in the 2nd half. What I saw of Perry County showed me they aren't very well-conditioned, specifically their line. When they wear down, TCA will take over. TCA 34 Perry County 20
  5. Well... this thread has certainly gotten out of hand. Must be something in the water this week.
  6. Yikes, man, this has got to be the west TN game of the week. It's a tough call, but I'll take the Cavs. Crockett County 24, McNairy Central 23 Won't surprise me if McNairy wins, though.
  7. http://www.geocities.com/westtnfootball/week4spreads.htm Don't take this to be an accurate representation of what the outcomes of the games should be. I just put this together for fun, more or less. Hope you enjoy it.
  8. I'm not seeing how all those excerpts you posted are signs of immaturity. Yes, I can see how some are... but some of the ones you posted are LCHS fans who are getting on to others for acting immature. Granted, LCHS has some annoying fans on this board, but there aren't many schools represented here that don't.
  9. Anyone know where I can find results from the '99 and '00 seasons?
  10. Neither team is playing all that well right now. I think Northside is more talented, so I'll take the Indians in a low-scoring game.
  11. Bijon looked pretty good. He played mostly in the 4th, and I don't recall how many yards he got, but I know he averaged over 5 per carry. CCHS has three very talented freshmen backs in Bijon, Matt Clear, and Melvin Armstrong. If the Eagles fans can be patient, I think Coach Cupples has a good shot at turning the program around.
  12. Congrats to CCHS for picking up their first win of the year, and to Coach Jeff Cupples for picking up his first win as a head coach. Perry dominated the 1st half, giving nothing on defense and moving it at will on offense. They went up 12-0, and had a chance to make it worse as they were in the red zone with less than 2 minutes in the first half, but CCHS's Myron Fulton stripped the ball from Brant Clifton (I think) on the 5 yard line, and took it down to the Perry County 31. CCHS scored right before the half to make it 12-7 at the break. The second half was all Chester County, as it seemed that Perry County just ran out of steam. CCHS capitalized on a number of Viking mistakes, scoring 3 times in the 3rd quarter. They added one more in the 4th for the final score. Once again, congrats to the Eagles, and kudos to Perry County for a hard-played game.
  13. Lewis County has nothing to be ashamed in losing to Riverside. They're a much better team than people realize, as was exhibited tonight.
  14. Heck, I'm not a coach and I hope to show up at Paul Ward Stadium.
  15. You know, I met a lot of great people at Perry County last year when I went to do a radio broadcast (not for USJ). Please don't give the good people in your county a bad name by acting like this on some message board.
  16. JaxMan: I was replying to Ryan3031 with the yards thing. I liked your question, though. Can't wait to hear his answer.
  17. No, if I read it right, it said he had 22 carries for 258 yards. The "first half" question came because I heard USJ played their 2nd and 3rd strings for the majority of the 2nd half. So if he did gain 258 yards against their 1st string defense, it must have come in the first half.
  18. So he had 258 yards in the 1st half?
  19. Another rivalry is USJ-JCS, although USJ leads the series something like 15-1.
  20. Bell's Drive-In. Best burgers around, I tell ya.
  21. Wow, you're the epitome of class.
  22. Who cares what the polls say? The only thing that matters is who wins the last game of the season. You guys keep it up -- you've got people pulling for you.
  23. *looks at MJ's good mark tally* Whoa! Someone took one away from you, Jean-O. We can't be having that.
  24. MeanJean, just a word of encouragement from one of your many CoachT.com fans. Do not let these naysayers get you down. The brightest minds are the ones usually subject to the most criticism, as those beneath them try their best to knock those like you down to their levels. I say, don't allow it! Stand firm! Keep your eyes on the goal! etc., etc.
  25. My understanding is that he got a job in pharmaceutical sales. Going into the season, he had apparently informed school administration that this was a possibility, and they were supportive.
