  1. Yea playing Thursday would be good so they could go scout opponents Friday night .......forget that one no one has a clue who either team will play until Sat morning.
  2. Finishing 1st or 2nd and finishing in the top half of your "A" does get you in the playoffs. But after looking at the ways that you qualify for the wild card spots in the playoffs, you are not rewarded for playing tough teams unless you beat them. A 5A or 6A team would be better served by finding a good 1A or 2A that will safely make the playoffs and pay them a nice sum to come and be a sacrificial lamb ..... that sounds just like college football to me.
  3. So my next question is Pod 2. Do you send Lawrence Co & Columbia East when they are geographically more western than the Sumner Co schools. The Sumner Co schools are also close to I-40 which would make travel from Cumberland Co, Anderson Co, and Clinton a relativly easy drive. My Pod 2 is Anderson Co, Clinton, Cumberland Co (if they beat White Co), Cleveland, Tullahoma ( who will have a tough last 2 games to get in barely), Shelbyville, Gallatin, & Beech. I think Columbia and Lawrence Co will be in Pod 3 and 4
  4. I see things a lot different than you guys. I am also thinking a few things will and will not happen. I do not see David Crockett winning anymore games. I think Springfield will beat West Creek. If those two things happen Springfield is in and David Crockett is out. My Pod 1 is Tennessee, Sullivan South, Daniel Boone, Morristown East, Morristown West, Seymour (if they bea Cherokee), Powell, & Knox Catholic comments ...
  5. Destroyed ....Come on now.... It was 19-6. Gallatin scored first and had a penalty behind the play that did not effect the play, and a fumble inside the 1 while the game was still 6-6 in the 3rd quarter. MJ did score on back to back drives after that. But I don't think you call it destroyed, even Fred Samuel would probably agree with that.
  6. If both teams win next friday night then White House should have the tie-breaker by beating Clarksville NE, NW , Greenbrier, and Portland. They also have beaten 2 teams who could possibly be .500 in Sycamore and Maplewood. Stratford has only beaten Overton and Clarksville NW and have possible .500 teams in Maplewood and McGavock. So White House should have them on tie breaker #3
  7. Handbook States C. In the event of a tie for the region winner, runner-up, third place, or fourth-place team, if either team(s) has defeated the other(s) in regular-season play, the team(s) shall be rated above the other(s) in the standings. This says nothing about comparing records against teams that are tied.
  8. Goes to show how much you know Davidson, Gallatin was eliminated from the playoffs last year win or lose to Hunters Lane when Glencliff beat Beech on the same night. I'll explain it to you if you need? Whatachacallit you speak in true idiotic terms. I know you speak about things in which you know nothing about . Because if you speak about the football coach's arrogance then you do not know him. So say what you wish. And there is no need to worry about the elegibility issue. I know that noone is budging on their own personal stance on this issue so throw your jabs if you please. But you will see Shipley at QB on Friday night and if he was truly ineligible then why did the TSSAA give him his senior year of eligibility? Shouldn't he have had to sit out for 1 year before he could play??
  9. I think Trinity would have won alot more than 4 games. Looking at the fact their defense only gave up 14 I would think they could have won it without Brohm just like Hillsboro did it without Bryant......But then again losing your QB is a little bit larger than losing a FB. I believe Hillsboro would have struggled a little more if they had lost Doss instead. But the fact is they both won the championship, so it really doesn't matter.
  10. All right let me add something. Most people think either Gallatin has reported something wrong, which ELA has mentioned a few times, or that they were misled by the parents. What about the forms not asking the correct questions for this situation.
  11. See the thing is that McGavock didn't wait long to report it. They have reported on 4 ocassions to TSSAA that Shipley was questionable on his eligibility. But it was after the 4th time that TSSAA told them to put it in writing and they would investigate. Why was McGavock not told after the 1st time to put it in writing?? Why not after the 2nd?? Was TSSAA hoping it would just go away??
  12. Did Riverdale win the Region Championship in 93 & 95 when they had a region loss??
  13. I want to compile a list of all the 5A Region Champions (1993-2002). Just tell me what year and what Region your team won the championship. I have all of 2001 and 2002, I would like to know any and all of the other years. I know there have been alot of changes in regions with teams switching regions and everything.
  14. Meadows is a Big Game player and he better believe this is a Big Game for his Bucs. Coker is a blazer, State Track Champion. I call it a push between those two I believe the supporting players will decide this one. QB advantage Antioch. Rec advantage Beech. Should be a great game.
  15. You have one on ESPN right now in Clint Ruth from White House. He is the kickoff specialist for Kentucky.
  16. Yea I believe Rico Collier is hurt. The way I understand it is that he broke a bone in his foot on Wednesday. And then he had surgery on Thurday. I believe he started for 2 or more years and is a key part of their offense.

    Region 5-5A

I believe it will be an even split of the 4 playoff spots this year. 2 Sumner, 2 Metro. This first Region week will go along way in telling that as Beech faces off against Antioch I believe. If Beech beats Antioch it should still look good for the 3 Sumner Co schools to make the playoffs.
