  1. Thanks for that, gotmilk. I have actually been bidding on Albert Pujols rookie cards on ebay, and I can get them on this website for cheaper. I owe ya one!
  2. You know, with all of the history in baseball happening this year (or the potential for, I should say), I went through my baseball cards. This is something I haven't done in close to five years. After about five hours of looking up the value's in Beckett's, I started to think about how popular baseball cards USED to be with kids and adults. I rarely ever see kids with baseball cards anymore, and even adults are hard to come by. Anyway, I have two questions: 1. Are you and/or your kids (if any) still collecting? 2. What do you think happened to the popularity of baseball cards? I can't really answer the second question myself. There are probably lots of reasons and I would bet that X Box would be the first one.
  3. Number 19 last night. Rolen had a heck of a night as well.
  4. I couldn't agree more. Aaron's record is untouchable for bonds. Wait about 8 more years and see what Pujols does.
  5. Ha ha, same here. Yeah, I have thought about that as well. What I don't understand is why pitchers are intentionally walking Barry Bonds more than Pujols (not that I am complaining). I'm hopeing that pitchers just pitch to him so that someone who doesn't take steroids will hold that HR record once again.
  6. The Reds and Astros are both looking hot early. At least we know that the Competely Useless By September are out.
  7. Hey Solomon, glad to see you made it to see a game in the new busch. I love the pictures. Makes me even more excited to go in July. We have tickets for the Cardinals - Rockies games on the 14 and 15? I think that's right. Oh, and we are also heading to Atlanta fourth of july to see them play the Braves.
  8. Through five, Carpenter has 7 K's, 0 ER, 4 hits, and 1 BB. Looking pretty hot so far.
  9. Dude, come on. They DID get it right: 1st - Albert Pujols 2nd - Wannabe Pujols 3rd - WishIwas Pujols
  10. Cards are now 3-0 and tied with Milwaukee for first. The pitching has looked better than average thus far. If the starters and the bullpen keep up the good work, and we throw Looper in the mix, there will be no reason not to win that WS Championship this year.
  11. No way Solomon. I could't leave a Cards fan hanging like that. Been lots of places this winter (St. Louis, Tuscaloosa, Gatlinburg, Atlanta), so I haven't had much time to get on the T.
  12. Sounds good to me. I would rather the Card's win in four just to make the NL look good again, but I guess most people would call that greedy.
  13. HAHA!! I wish I had that advice four years ago! You are lucky, didyou..., at least yours isn't pushing for an engagement ring! Rachel, my girlfriend, and I have been together for four years. Recently, her family has been "pushing" me into that commitment, and somehow her family got to my family, and now they are doing the same. So, we went shopping for an engagement ring last week in Knoxville at Kay Jewelers (the reason I am so specific is because Kay has a great sale going on right now for any guys who are interested). Now, keep in mind there are huge SALE signs everywhere, so immediately I am hooked. Then we get in there, spend about an hour trying to figure out which one she really liked, and left with nothing. Moral of the story: A $1500 ring marked down to $1299 is still too much money that will eventually go right down the kitchen sink.....literally. Rachel wasn't very happy, but she will be one day. I have ordered the same ring from their website for almost half that price.
  14. You speak many words of wisdom, grasshopper. Sensei totally agrees.
  15. They would have got it in on the next play anyway. I don't know what all the fuss is about. If seattle should be blaming anyone, it's Jerramy Stevens.
  16. You are exactly right. You should have seen cookeville last night on my way home from work. People were CRAZY!! All the gas stations had lines and it seemed like people were running other people off the road just to get home. You'd think they never saw snow before. Boy, I can't wait until tomorrow night!! Looks like we will all get lucky and get more than just some.
  17. Here in Cookeville, it is coming down HARD right now. You can tell we arent used to snow. In about a three mile stretch, I saw two wrecks. We may see 1-3 inches overnight.
  18. Just wanted to see what anybody had planned for Super Bowl XL. Anybody doing anything exciting or what?
  19. I'm going to have to agree. A lot of teams bettered themselves this offseason, and the White Sox were not one of those teams. No repeat.
