  1. Good stuff considering it had nothing to do with the game. Well Franklin won 30-10, how do you feel now?
  2. This game will be a good game. I still think Oak Ridge is the second best team in state and they would have won the west part of the bracket easy. But anyway, Franklin is a good team. They win ugly, and had not scored a lot of points the last few weeks until tonight. I seen them play Antioch and honestly was not impressed with their offense at all. I have seen Riverdale several times and they are mammoth. The defense is incredible and proved it tonight by stopping OR. I was very impressed by the Rebels defense even though Coker had 188, but after all he is the #2 running back in the country. No offense to Franklin people because I really do like Franklin, but they dont match up well with Riverdale. Riverdale will win this one easier that most people think. Riverdale-35 Franklin-7
  3. Nothing against Huntingdon, but I think Alcoa will win this one. Alcoa-28 Huntingdon-17
  4. I was at this game, and I am very lucky to have been there. I am a Riverdale fan, so obviously I am glad they won, but Oak Ridge is an amazing team. The qb from Oak Ridge was getting pressured on every single play it seemed like. They were just tenacious on the defensive front. That qb is amazing, even though he got sacked like 6 or 7 times, he still escaped about 10 others with his speed and elusiveness. He has a really good arm too. The only dumb play he made was in the second quarter when he was getting pressured on the sideline and threw it for some reason into the arms of a Riverdale guy. It was smart for RHS to blitz on every play considering that is the only way you can contain a guy like that. That running back Guilmire? is really a stud for sure. This was a game of big plays and Riverdale just made a couple more that OR did. It was a well played game and a clean game. There were very few penalties in this game. I do not know what the stats were but im sure the yardage was up there pretty high. Keaton Anderson, #5 for volsfan#1, played a great game. Gaston played decently, but Dave Thomas proved to me that he is a really amazing football player. He had im sure close to 200 yards passing and close to 100 yards rushing. Great game, congratulation Riverdale. Go win state over the Franklin Rebels!!!
  5. All I will say is Troy Fleming and Ralph King.
  6. There are not a lot of teams in the country that Riverdale couldnt beat. CPA has a wide open passing offense which is why they were able to move the ball against Riverdale. That is why teams like Southlake(Carroll) in Texas could score all over Riverdale. They average about 45 to 50 points a game against Texas teams which is saying a lot. Their quarterback Chase Daniel has passed for 3,496 and 39 TD's and rushed for 1103 and 17 TD's. In two years he has close to 10,000 yards and has 115 TD's. The running back on that team Aaron Luna has around 1300 yards in addition to that. Their is no team in Tennessee that could compete with this team. Another team that Riverdale would struggle against is Independence (NC). Their QB Joe Cox has thrown for 3500 yards and 55 TD's this year. He has 7500 yards and almost 100 touchdowns in his two years. The wide receiver on that team has 70 TD's in his career. Other than those two teams, Riverdale could match up well with most other teams in the country. Other teams that would give Riverdale trouble would be: Colerain(Cincinnati) Hoover(AL) Bellevue(WA)-running back JR Hasty has 2240 and 45 TD's this year Mission Viejo(CA)-quarterback Mark Sanchez is a Southern Cal recruit Jenks(Ok) Camden County in Georgia would be an awesome game South Panola (Ms) Derek Pegues their QB is being recruited as a DB my major schools
  7. Some of the top high school teams in the country venture out and play other teams from other states. For example Evangel Christian in Louisiana played Cretin Durhan Hall from Minnesota this year as well as three top teams from Texas. Bellevue from Washington is the team that ended De La Salle (CA) 151 game winning streak. My question is should top teams in Tennessee like Riverdale, MBA, Oak Ridge, Brentwood Academy and teams like that play teams from other states. MBA did play #3 Louisville Trinity last year and beat them. If so, what matchup would you like to see if you know about hs football on a national level. Some example might be Riverdale vs Hoover (AL), or MBA vs Valdosta (GA Top Southern Teams we could play include: South Panola (MS) Trinity(KY) Camden County (GA) Naples (FL) Independence (NC) 50-something game winning streak. Florida's Chris Leak came from here. Georgia's starting QB next year is here right now, Joe Cox.
  8. Marsellous Johnson from Smyrna has also committed to UT, but as a defensive back.
  9. 1.Gaston Miller-Riverdale 2.T.C Jennings-Ravenwood 3.Patrick Johnson-Maplewood 4.Ricky Ladd-White House This is the first I have heard of Shiverdecker. I like those stats as a sophomore. Very similar to Patrick Johnson of Maplewood. Nobody talks about him because his team loses all the time.
  10. It should be Riverdale vs Franklin. Either way, neither Franklin or GTown have enough to beat either Riverdale or Oak Ridge anyway.
  11. Well, I dont know how the Melrose fans are, but what I know is that every year they are a legit title threat. They regularly send players to the NFL and are a hard team to beat anywhere. As far as this game goes, White House showed me a TON against Hillwood. I picked WH to win, but I did not forsee them dominating like they did. Major props to White House, you guys have a wonderful team. That quarterback of yours is the real deal. I know Melrose is a tough team to beat and I give them props as well, but a really think this could be White House's year. White House-30 Melrose-21
  12. Haha, I thought Cookeville and Lebanon people talked a lot of smack. This is entertaining. Oak Ridge and Riverdale are both amazing teams. Riverdale's defense is just incredible and they have two dangerous running backs.(Miller and Butler) Oak Ridge can put up a lot of points and they beat a wonderful Dobyns-Bennett team, although they choke every year anyway. Oak Ridge has the whole revenge thing for RHS going there last year and winning, but this is a new year and both teams have improved a ton since last year. Last year RHS wasnt the best team and won anyway, this year Riverdale is the better team because of their defense. I have been saying for a few weeks that Oak Ridge is the only team that can score more than 7 points on Riverdale. But they wont score enough on Riverdale's defense, and Riverdale thrives on big plays and they will make at least 3 in this game. Riverdale will win this game and send OR home upset but proud of their team. Riverdale-21 Oak Ridge-14
  13. Shew, I think this is going to be a great game! Oak Ridge has an amazing team this year and I have been saying that OR is probably the only team in state that has a chance to score more than 7 or 10 points on Riverdale. Riverdale has an awesome defense like everybody already knows, 15 points allowed in 11 games is freakin incredible. Im not going to say a lot about this game. Right now my early prediction is: Riverdale-21 Oak Ridge-14
  14. 5A-Riverdale over Franklin 4A-Maryville over Melrose 3A-Fulton over Greenbrier 2A-Lipscomb over Alcoa 1A-DCA over Boyd-Buchanon Bishop Byrne MUS Briarcrest
  15. I think Briarcrest will pull this out barely over Evangelical. It should be a great game though. Briacrest Christian-24 Evangelical Christian-21
  16. Hey bro, I have been watching Riverdale football for 8 or 9 years now and I dont see them doing anything intentional like that any more than any other team does. Every team has people on it who do stuff like that, guess what, its part of football. I dont know why you think Riverdale does it more than anybody else, but they dont. As far as talking, let them talk, they can back it up at least. They have been backing it up for around 11 years or so man. Its not like Lebanon who usually talks tons of trash then goes 4-6 or something. If you want to see a team who intentionally tries to go after players knees, go look at game tapes of Dallas Carter High School in the late 1980's in Texas. Then compare them to Riverdale then try to talk about them.
  17. Wesley Fink from Clarksville is good. He had 3,000 yards passing this season. Duran Ferguson is the real deal from Dobyns-Bennett, nice stats there too. Quan Taylor is a good dual-threat guy from Stratford. Charles Orona even though he struggled, I still like alot from Smyrna. He had a game where he had only 5 completions for 244 yards. That shows his potential anyway. He is lightning fast too. T.C Jennings is also a very talented quarterback from Ravenwood. I think he had over 2500 yards passing, if not it was close. Those guys are my favorites I think.
  18. Patrick Turner is a great reciever out of Goodpasture High. He is rated on #2 on Unapproved Website. What are your thoughts on him and where is he going to go to college. According to Unapproved Website he is looking at........ Florida LSU Miami(FL) Oklahoma Southern Cal Tennessee Texas
  19. I just wish they would start winning because I actually like UTM. I have some friends over there and they are tired to losing all the time that is for sure. UTM and Austin Peay are two in-state schools outside of Vanderbilt that need a lot of help.
  20. The atmosphere is pretty good at Hendersonville also, at least it was for the H'ville-Beech game.
  21. I also attended that DCA-CPA game. It was a great atmosphere and a great setting. The fans there were great I thought. They have a really nice campus there. I go to a different game every week so I have been to several Nashville and Murfreesboro area schools. I think MBA edges CPA out of the stadiums that I have been to. The campus itself seems like it is straight out of a movie or something. I have been there twice now for the Louisville Trinity game last year and Brentwood Academy this year. The stadium is real nice and it is real intimate and provides a wonderful atmosphere. CPA is a close second out of where I have been so far though. I think Franklin may be third. I was there for the Franklin-Antioch playoff game a couple of weeks ago and I was able to watch the game from the sideline on the field. That was pretty sweet for me and my friend.
  22. Geez man lighten up. We are just on here giving our opinions and having fun on here. For your information more than one person has picked Cookeville, and that is fine.
  23. Based on who is left in the playoffs this year. Class 1A-DCA Class 2A-David Lipscomb Class 3A-Austin-East Class 4A-Maryville Class 5A-Riverdale DIIA -Bishop-Byrne DIIAA -Briarcrest Christian DIIAAA -Brentwood Academy 1-Riverdale-45 8-Bishop Byrne-3 4-David Lipscomb-24 5-DCA-20 3-Brentwood Academy-17 6-Briarcrest Christian-14 2-Maryville-36 7-Austin East-27 1-Riverdale-38 4-David Lipscomb-7 3-Brentwood Academy-13 2-Maryville-24 1-Riverdale-35 2-Maryville-10 Riverdale High School State Champs
