  1. Hampton looks good, Coalfield does as well, dont count Oneida out....Midway could be tough...South Pitt has tradition and Trousdale County is always a force to be dealt with
  2. One thing i like to do is download college fight songs.....One you can have a contest to see fans can name them....two no lyrics so you dont have to worry about language and the sounds of a band blarring gets the players fired up...Some Great ones Michigan- Hail to the Victors FSU- War Chant Texas A&M U of So California Tennessee Georgia- Glory Glory Purdue has a good one Oklahoma- Boomer Sooner Texas- The Eyes of Texas Clemson-Tiger Rags Penn State Florida is ok Alabama's is awesome and Ole MIss has a great one....Here are just a few
  3. I agree with you....I take my football as serious as the next guy, but lets be honest...it is a game...the sun will still rise on Saturday if your team looses and I feel that football is a charcter builder where teams learn to play hard, play fair, play lights out between the whistles, but at the end of the game show the due respect to the other team....This junk of trash talking and putting high school kids down on here is senseless...I watched the film on Johnson Co...They look real physical, should be fun and I wish all your fans a safe trip down to Knoxville...If you need directions or anything just let me know.
  4. Does anyone have any information on Johnson County? I know that CAK is a team which relies on it skils players and quick linebackers to make plays. Dont know much about football in upper east tn....Someone feel me in on how they stack up and what you think the score will be. Good Luck to Both Teams
  5. Is it just me or is Maryville like the old Saturday night skit where Chris Farley and company are sitting around talking about DA Bears? It seems that they never rebuild they just reload, no matter who they play George Quarles and company find a way to win. I am not for or against Maryville, I enjoy watching good football....but week in and week out, Marvyille plays some of the best football with some average to slightly above average ball players....To think about the dynasty they have going and to have only had 2 young men sign Major D-1 scholarships just amazes me....Hats off to a good program.
  6. http://www.prepxtra.com This has knoxille and surrounding counties stats by team and individual....The best day to check it is on monday....They are updated from the week before by then. Leaderboard section lets you see the statistical leaders by category Player section can check specifics on each players and there stats by game and for season Schedule and Results- Can go to specific dates and see the schedule by Class and start times Hopes this helps, If i run across anything better I will let you know
  7. Two Completely differenty kinds of quarterbacks. Mark was the first, the first to be a leader, the first to get the school a win, the first to go to college to play football, the one everyone wanted to be associated with Richard.....Very good quarterback, strong arm, great kid, hard worker, has grown up more than many will ever realize....Reads defenses, makes decissions some good some bad- but he accepts them. He has taken the pressure and challenges of being a quarterback and i feel has stepped up and become a man... CAK Season Passing Records Most Yards Harb- 2208 Yards Cunningham- 1863 Yards Throwing Touchdowns Harb- 22 Cunningham- 16 Interceptions- Harb- 14 Cunningham- 8 Completion Percentage Harb- 54% Cunningham- 55% This is comparing Cunninghams Senior year stats to Harbs Junior year stats...I just want it to be known that neither is as bad as it can sound or as good as some can make it sound.....Mark was a natural leader...Richard has worked at it and stepped up nicely....Mark had an experienced offensive line playing in front of him...Harbs is scattered with underclassmen. Both are great athletes and CAK is very proud to have had both come through there programs.
  8. Is Alcoa one of those teams that if the first team gets hurt they are in trouble or do they have some depth?
  9. Has game day been moved to Thursday.....I heard this but noone has offically confirmed or denied it....also what field is Alcoa playing at in Kentucky, what high school.....They play Hopkinsville but it is somewhere else.
  10. CAK has turned out one of the top passers in the state the last three years...They have a freshman QB that has grown about 4" since his 8th grade and freshman year....If his arm continues to get stronger he could be pretty darn good by the time he is a Senior. It is amazing though, a lot of the guys that come in as impact players as Freshman fizzle out by the time they are seniors....I dont know if the others just catch up to them physically or if they think they have it and stop working has hard. Central always seems to have a freshman in there class who is just one heck of an athlete
  11. This game is very exciting...I am from Knox Co but my college roommates played for Maryville, even after graduation, it was amazing to see how hyped they would get for this game....This could be the best rivalry in the State....One question, I heard a rumor that this game was being moved to Thursday night...Can anyone from the Rebel or Tornado community confirm or deny this for me?
  12. It was a good scrimmage, I felt both teams got a good work out and took a step forward for the season ahead. The format of the scrimmage was the offense had 10 plays, if they were inside the 20 when the 10 plays were up then it went to regular football with first downs. CAK and LC had turnovers that would have stopped drives but they just backed it up to the 30 and started over. I thought CAK played well, should be an exciting season with new challenges and expectations....I heard that LC lost 22 Seniors from last years squad so they are still coming together as a team, I look for them to be pretty good when it all comes together. They have some big physical boys and there tailback hits the wholes pretty hard. Coach White at LC is a great guy and a good coach so they will be ok. Good Job to both teams, it is a positive anytime you can get some real time work and noone gets injured
  13. Where and what time are the Union County Scrimmages, also are Rockwood and Sweetwater scrimmaging anyone?
  14. Sweetland, actually, is Fresh year he played some Tailback and slot position, Wing T offense, it is hard to remember back that far
  15. What do you all think about after we have a Class champion, we see who really is the best team in the state by letting the class champions play each other?
  16. I have said all along, when a defense has to account for a QB that can run and throw it causes all kinds of trouble, i was glad to see Coalfield put Hensley at QB, I believe that Greenbacks defense will be to much for the Yellow Jackets to handle though. Greenback has played an option team in Pigeon Forge and they will not overlook how good this team is. But on the other hand, the the Jackets are clicking it could be a long night for the Kees. Greenback is solid all the way around.
  17. Daniel Devore MLB CAK Daniel is not the best athlete on the team by any means, But his knowledge of the game, his intensity, his hard nose mentallity makes up for that. When he is on the field it is like having a coach out there, he can make adjustments and put other players in the right position. He will be greatly missed next year since he is a Senior.
  18. The thing I see about Maryville is that they are so disciplined. They dont have many great athletes on the team. Just a bunch of above average players who have bought into a system and play together as a team. They dont make many mistakes and when another team does, they take full advantage of it. Besides Cade, I am not sure there is another player on that team that is Div I or even Div I-AA material. But in that system, they are superstars. Good Luck to Maryville
  19. I dont think the game will be a blow out like last time. Oneida has to much pride as a team and a community. I am not from either school, but I respect both programs and feel that this game is the game of the week in 1A. Austin James is one heck of a ballplayer and I believe that if he has a good game Greenback wins, if he doesnt, i give the edge to Oneida Good Luck to both teams
  20. I dont mean any disrespect to any of the teams that made the playoffs with a less than .500 records, but i think that only cheats teams who end up playing in a tough region. Jellico at 1-9 made the playoffs. There region is weak and that is not fair to the fans or teams that are above .500 and dont make it. I think that TSSAA needs to implement some standards to making the playoffs. Kind of like being Bowl Eligiable in College. How do you all feel about this?
  21. I heard that Harris is only playing at about 60% does anyone know if that is true? That is one thing that i love about football. On paper a team can be dominant but the game is played on grass and not on paper. I think that it is hard to win 15 games. One you get a little cocky and 2 just the odds are against you. But I think that this little shake up is what AE needed. Now they know they have to bring the A game every game. Coach Stephens is one heck of a coach and a great person, he will have them ready and I believe you will see a different team. Good Luck AE and all the other Knoxville teams

    Biggest flop

I dont think I would consider CAK a flop. There was a 3 way tie for 3rd in the region. Oneida, CAK, and Coalfield. The tie breaker was overall record. Coalfield and Oneida played a much weaker overall schedule with Jellico (1-9) and Taft Youth Center. While CAK played Davidson Academy who is in the toughest region in 1A football and Asheville School who has 2 athletes who have signed Division I scholarships. CAK finished with the same region record as last year in the region after loosing 16 seniors from last years team. If anything I think this CAK team proved that they were competitors and would not quit. Oneida is a heck of a team and yes CAK played poorly the second half, but I am not taking anything away from those guys out on the field for both teams. I think it just shows that our region is pretty tough when we go and our fourth place team beats the first place team from Region 1 handidly Good Luck to all teams still in it. Wish we were there, but that is the way the cookie crumbles.
  23. I give Midway the advantage because they are at home. Coalfield may have better skilled positions, but i believe that Midway is more physical. Midway grinds the clock with a grueling running game, but no lead is safe with the big time receivers that Coalfield has. I like Hensley at QB, the threat of a guy who can throw and run puts a strain on defenses. Either way I believe this game will be much better than the original meeting. Good Luck to Both Teams
  24. Thursday 9/16/04 CAK 14 Oliver Springs 0
  25. Hi, I would just like to comment on Cloudland. I am a CAK supporter and I truely believe that Cloudland will be just fine in the future. Any time you take loosing a great senior class and a change in coaches you have an adjustment period. At a school like Cloudland where there is such a tradition it can be hard for a coach if he doesnt win big and early. First the community does not buy into his system, then the players then the administration. Just give the coach some time. They have such a good tradition that in the end it will turn around. GOOD LUCK I hope we both make it to the playoffs
