  1. No, no. Synder out for a couple of games. Burns tore his ACL.

    BALLERS?

MBA vs. Brentwood Academy at Montgomery Bell Academy (4001 Harding Road) on October 29th. The only games I can think of that I'd rather go to (that aren't being played, unfortunately) are Riverdale vs. MBA and Riverdale vs. BA.
  4. How long is Snyder down for?
  5. It's all about the BA-MBA. Father Ryan used to be a good one, and perhaps will again be when Father Ryan gets a bit more competitive.
  6. How about rollredroll? He's a member there...any chance of inviting Rockmom et al to tell us about parking and lodgings?
  7. I'd say he is in comparison to last year's Sam and Gluck
  8. The Depth Chart (as I see it) QB: Ryan Burns RB: Andy Snyder FB: Pilkerton TE: Carney Tackles: Joseph Birdsong and Bransford Maxwell Guards: Leonard Edwards and Billy Billington Center: Lundy Receivers: Chambliss Shillinglaw, Clay Cooper, ? DLine: Matthew Bubis, Hughes Tipton, Will Fitzgerald (he'll do very well, just wait and see) Linebackers: Beckner? Pilkerton? I'm not sure about this one Ends: Brown, Hightower, Nagle, ? DBacks: Warfield, Crumbo, is Dawson playing? another position im unsure of I don't quite share the concerns of others with this team--the offense may lose a bit, but they'll reload, it'll just be a different game. With the athleticism of that backfield (Snyder, wow...Burns, Pilkerton) running behind that O-Line (BIRDSONG!, and I also really like that Billington could be at Guard, he can do big things), I see good things. As for he defense, the two seniors on the line are studs, and Fitzgerald is more than adequate to get the job done. The rest of the defense should be in great shape with plenty of depth. It may be a bit rocky early on, but once MBA gets some experience it'll again be a force.
  9. Heh, I was just about to say that. Anyone saying Birdsong would get eaten for breakfast apparently hasn't seen him playing.
  10. It's a requirement at MBA that all students play at least 2 sports (which can be replaced with debate, theater, or the student athletic director program)
  11. heh, I'd like to hear how large the staffs at MBA & BA are.
  12. How about Rutledge? Not much was expected out of the 2002 squad his first year--state championship over BA. The next year his team ends up in the USA Today Super 25 and wins another title. Not a bad record thus far.
  13. As far as MBA goes, Hughes Tipton is a great player. I'm surprised to see him on there since Matt Bubis isn't, though.
  14. No one that saw the MBA-Trinity game has any doubt that the kid has a great deal of talent and heart. I still can't believe he caught Matthew Jacques on that interception. Best of luck to him either way (baseball or football), and good luck in the All-Star game, Brohmless or not. It appears this time you will have to deal with Santi, though.
  15. Are schools like MBA and BA supposed to just shut the door on the students who want to go to a good school but can't pay the $15,000+ a year for tuition, books, lab fees, athletic fees, etc.?
  16. As an MBA supporter I can say I'd love to see the classes consolidated as well...but I don't see it happening. Seeing Riverdale, MBA, BA, CBHS, Germantown, McCallie, BGA, etc. all in one class would make the playoffs incredible.
  17. Keep in mind who you represent. Just play the game, let your play speak for itself.
  18. The final will be McCallie vs. MBA/MUS...the latter game being the tough one to call.
  19. I wouldn't worry too much about Burns' strength as much as his experience. I'm sure if given the opportunity, he'll be able to step it up and get the job done. And with the Howe kid, he does have a cannon. I've seen him in JV games... he just needs some time to get bigger and stronger and he'll be an incredible force. I'm guessing Pilkerton will probably stay at linebacker...he played some fullback last year, so he might play some there too. I see Andy Snyder stepping in at running back, I was really impressed with his game last year.
  20. Nice job, did you get all that from the history? Or did you use one of the programs they sell at games?

    MUS vs. MBA

    Anyone got a score?
  22. Thus far for MBA... BA: Always a big game..no need for further explanation Trinity: It was big last year... I hope this years game can be as good as last years
  23. It'll be a close game all the way through, but I think I'll take MBA by 2.
