  1. JUST PULLED UP THE KENTUCKY SECONDARY SCHOOL ATHLETICS SITE. IT SAYS THAT IF A PLAYER OR COACH IS EJECTED THE MINIMUM SUSPENSION IS THE NEXT CONTEST. LOOKS LIKE IT READS ABOUT THE SAME AS TSSAA. IF THIS IS THE CASE IT LOOKS LIKE BRANDON IS OUT NEXT WEEK. IT IS A SHAME BECAUSE NO MATTER THE OUTCOME OF THE GAME THERE WILL BE QUESTIONS AND ACCUSATIONS, IE. MARYVILLE COULD NOT HAVE WON IF HE WAS IN THERE, ETC. NO MATTER WHICH WAY IT GOES WE SHOULD ALL SUPPORT BOTH TEAMS. THERE IS NOT A BETTER FOOTBALL COMMUNITY IN UNITED STATES THEN MARYVILLE AND ALCOA. PROUD TO BE A ALUMNI ALCOA CLASS OF 74, AND CITY OF MARYVILLE EMPLOYEE FOR 24 YEARS.
  2. Congrats to Alcoa on another Blount County State Champion. (Alumni from AHS, Class of 74, worked for City of Maryville past 23 yrs.) Looking for Rebels to bring home another one!!! Its great to be from this area with the calibur and class of athletes we have. Gotta get some sleep, escorting REBELS to the Burro at 0900hrs. Hope to see Alcoa Fans at Maryville game. GO TORNADOES AND REBELS!!
  3. First of all, no one can predict East Tenn. weather, it changes every 20 minutes. Right now they are saying partly cloudy w/lows in mid 30's. It that holds true I think it would be perfect football weather. The field has held up great considering it has seen 8 varsity games (5-regular and 3 playoff) and who knows how many freshman and JV games. Unless it snows 10 inches, rains 5 inches, or the the temp is in the upper 80's or low teen's I don't think its a factor.
  4. The field is right next to school, if you get there early enough turn right at light just past Blockbuster video, then make a immediate left on Cunningham, go one block and turn right on Lawrence. Student parking is on that street. Best gate for visitors is walk on down Lawrence and then right on Cedar Street. There is a gate there for visitor side. Look for all the Black and White Police cars. Note, Cedar Street is closed for vehicle traffic, we park the team buses, etc. there.
  5. The address for the High School is actually Lawrence Ave on the southside, Cunningham runs down the east side. The field actually is on W. Broadway, which is the main street through Town. Plenty of free parking at the school if your early enough, Large Church across street from stadium has $5 parking. Welcome to Maryville!!, hope the trip down is nice and trip back is a long one!!
  6. Surprised nobody has mentioned the Central @ Maryville game this Friday. Should be around 8-10 thousand fans there, or more.

    ALCOA

From a Alcoa Alumni (class of 74) I want to wish the very best to the Tornado's. I have always supported Alcoa, except when they play Maryville. Then it is mixed feelings. I graduated from Alcoa, but the City of Maryville has been writing my check for the last 22 years. Either way both schools have exceptional school systems and the support of both communities. GO ALCOA AND MARYVILLE, hope to see both in the Boro in December!!!!!
  9. Prayers and hopes for a speedy recovery to Coach Helton.
  10. Have to agree w/MHS & 1FootballFan, the rankings mean nothing when it comes to playoff time. There nice to look at and give a team prestige, bragging rights, etc. As they say, records and rankings go out the window when it comes to game time. Any team that goes into a game saying to themselves "we can't beat them, thier the number one team" doesn't need to be playing. As to MARYVILLE being ranked number 1 in the AP poll, they haven't lost in 35 games, regardless who they have played. They are the reigning 4A Champs for 3 years running, and 4 out of the last 5. Until they are beaten they rightfully deserve the ranking. There is also a question been asked "Who do they play". They play those in the region they have to play, the traditional schools they have always played, and pick-up a team that is definitely no push over, Morristown West. By the way MW was the last time to have beaten the Rebels. GO REBELS, hope to get to escort the buses to the Clinic Bowl again with the BLUE LIGHTS & SIREN going. It's one of the perks of my job.
  11. Sorry, this is a old post, game already played in week 5, Maryville 35 WB 6
