  1. DCA beats NCS 35-13. -A Nashville Christian cornerback was ejected for throwing a punch at a DCA wideout after a long reception. -DCA has several players injured, including All-Region Tight End/ Defensive end #1 and their fullback #33. -DCA's starters went out after three quarters with DCA winning 35-7. -Wooden had a few long rushes and 2 touchdowns. He has the brace off now, but still doesn't look quite like himself. He didn't play much in the second half and DCA, once again, used many other tailbacks to keep the burden off him. -Vanatta and Jerkins are great athletes. Vanatta broke an 82 yard TD in the 1st quarter untouched on a DCA blitz. Jerkins scored a late TD against DCA backups. -Fenwich opened the scoring with a 45 yard bomb and scored the second TD of the game on a 30 yard keeper. DCA was up 14-0 after about 5 minutes. -DCA still looks sporadic. Wooden fumbled deep in NCS territory and DCA looked out of sinc at times. Overall, I think CPA would beat DCA if they played today. DCA isn't very consistant and CPA has played better competition.
  2. Harpeth lost an incredible amount of players from last season. DCA only got better.
  3. DCA beat NCS 45-7 last year. I don't see it being much closer this year. 42-10
  4. Read my post in the DCA/Jackson Christian thread. I don't want to post it again. It answers your question in full detail.
  5. As I have stated before, Wooden's knee is still injured and will be for a while to come. He wears a brace on it every game. DCA runs more by committee this year. Don't expect Wooden to have the year he had last year. From what I understand, the injury limits his ability to get to the corner, turn, cut(which he did very very well) and run anywhere other than straight into the line. DCA has vastly improved their passing and defensive secondary. They have found other ways to get rushing yards by using 4 or 5 tailbacks a game and their speedy QB. But, to make a long story short, it doesn't look like we'll see the same Chris Wooden this year that we did the past 3 years. But, I could always be wrong and I hope I am.
  6. Good to see DCA is starting strong. CPA vs DCA, Friday Oct. 22, be there!
  7. Details? Jackson Christian is #5 in 1A and it was at their place, so I didn't expect it to be that bad. What happened?
  8. Unfortunately, I can't go out to watch some football tonight. Keep us up to date by posting scores here.
  9. So that explains why last year, MBA went to the #2 team in Mississippi( a very good HS football state) and beat them by 32 points.

Your WAY ahead of yourself here, pujo. While I think CPA has been very good in the first 2 weeks, they are by no means there yet. I have not seen Boyd since I live in Middle Tennessee, but I have seen both CPA and DCA and they seem about even at this stage. CPA seems to have a much improved offense with the shotgun, but their defense is very questionable in my opinion and you will HAVE to be able to run the ball effectively against DCA, who has very talented corners and did a good job against Sikes last year. CPA has improved more from last year than DCA and Boyd have. With DCA's improved passing and CPA's new offense and Boyd's talented skill player's we are going to be in for quite the year in 1A.
  11. Do you even understand who Riverdale is? They are the #11 team in the country, and playing a close game with them for 3 quarters is no small feat. Especially when you are a 1A team going against a 5A squad.
  12. They are ranked as high as #11 in other National Polls.
  13. How did it get from 21-14 to 34-21?
  14. I saw 2 DCA scrimmages and they are very much a 2 dimensional team this year. Their quarterback can throw very well on the run and DCA has fast, athletic wideouts. Their ground game is just as strong as last year, but it is more by committee this year instead of one man because of Wooden's injury. They have a huge line which should dominate JCS's. JCS, on the other hand, has a passing attack that DCA hasn't seen since 2002 Ezell-Harding, and it could give them troubles. It should be a fairly close game, especially since it is at JCS. DCA wins 28-14.
  15. A little bit of both. GP lost Hoskins, their tailback, and Janco, their quarterback. They are pretty much a one man team this year with Turner, but they are still very good. Which brings me to CPA. They are a very good team with a good offense and should light up some smaller 1A teams this year. I cannot wait for their game with DCA at the end of the year. With DCA's massive improvement in the passing game and CPA's new style, it will be much higher scoring than some of the past matchups.
  16. Riverdale 49- CPA 17 Riverdale has too many athletes a way to much depth. Thomas is a fantastic player and I look for him to have a big game. CPA probably won't do much and will probably get most of their stats when the Warrior backups come in. This is the wrong year to play Riverdale.
  17. Antwan, to say GP will not be a factor in 2A is ludicrous. They are among the class of 2A each year. To try to totally deny the importance and impressiveness of CPA's victory with a new coach at Goodpasture is totally uncalled for. And they SHOULDN'T be expected to even contend with Riverdale. NO team in the state should this year. Again, congrats to CPA.
  18. I don't think Goodpasture is as good as in past years, but to go to their place and hang 37 on them is quite impressive especially for the first game of the year when most teams are rusty and sputtery.
  19. Great job CPA!! Way to shut down Turner! Congrats to Coach Matthews on a job well done.
  20. I have confidence that Fisher will be a D1 player. He has that presence. He is all over the field, tackling, intercepting, forcing turnovers, blanketing wideouts. That kind of persistance is hard to pass on.
  21. Not serious, he will be able to play for sure. They just didn't want to take chances on him getting injured further. He is a scrambler and playing a big team like Hillwood is risky. I believe the injury was an ankle or groin or knee. I forgot, but its not serious.
