I remember a team at Maplewood that Coach Campbell coached that had little to no talent. I believe it was Curry's freshman year at Stratford. I know that Curry played in that game for Stratford. Coach Campbell's bunch won the district over Stratford. Coach Campbell's victory in that game still may be the best coaching job I have ever seen at that level, or for that matter maybe any level. And believe me, as far as his Stratford freshman that year, if you have PG problems you have real problems. Hunters Lane is good because of the relentlessness and superb coaching of Coach Campbell!

Coach Broome, I don't know whether to pray for you or wish you congratulations, ha. I know you will do a great job, because you have learned from the best. Among those is Coach Campbell at Hunters Lane. He is the best! Go for it , Coach!

hoop20, what do you do with Hillwood, Overton, and Hillsboro in 11AAA now? I like your classifying , but what about these schools. 12AAA already is full.

It looks like it is going to be a 10 team district. That means not many games outside the district. This is not a good scenario. I hope TSSAA decides to do different, but I don't think it will.

fanatic1199, good question. I just hope some of the guys have grown up a bit and will come through. We do have a few options with a few guys that can shoot. Some of the guys didn't play this year due to problems. I still believe we can win next year and all of the guys believe , too. Let's just hope that we come out of the gate better next year. I also, believe that summer camps will help us - since we didn't get them until it was too late for the camps last year. Thanks, and you can believe we will be working hard for a winner at Hillwood.

I hate the way they are trashing Vandy on ESPN, don't you? Every team in the sweet 16 demands some respect! ESPN analysts have missed a bunch of upsets. They are a bunch of chumps. Go 'Dores! Get the big upset!

Coacht is a great site. I only hope people realize this. Along with being a great site, Coacht is a great person. He is interested in the kids and that is what it is all about. Thanks Coacht.

Most people would rather have 5 classifications, but the travel distance would be too great. I , myself , do not really care. I really believe there really needs to be only one state champion. How this is resolved; I do not know. The Class A needs to have a chance at it; as well as AA. What do you think? The Class AAA in Tennessee is really considered the real champion.

Well, I can tell you, it was different. The kids at Hillwood fought hard and I really think if they had bought into the program sooner , we might have had a better year. At the end , they decided to play the way we should have been playing all year. All I know is that they were a great bunch of guys and I think we will be even better next year. Kids make the difference; when coaches believe they do, then they need to take a look at themselves. If kids believe in you, then anything is possible. I think the kids finally believe at Hillwood and finally believe in themselves. Go Hilltoppers!

You have got to be nuts! George Pitts is a great coach! I have seen his teams for years and I can tell you - the man is a real coach. His Science Hill teams put on a clinic everytime they played. Get real!

CoachF, you did a fantastic job with East Lit. team this year. I think you are a great young coach, and I just wish I had your youth, ha. All jokes aside , I really respect your coaching and I think you are on the pinnacle of going to the state soon. Good luck and don't look back - just straight ahead. See ya soon!

DB can win if miracles are stiill around. Very well coached , but far less talent. White Station will win , but they are not an absolute to win the tourney. Bradley Central could wreck havoc!

First off Bubba Taylor doesnt compare with Henry Harris. Second, Sean Bridges hands down??? Are you kidding me, its an honor for Henry Harris to have his name put up there with the likes of Kellen Pickel and Willie Kemp. But Bridges?? I mean dont get me wrong here he is a solid player, but youre talking about some serious company here. You seem to have changed your mind 3 times but I will put them in order for you 1. Harris 2. Taylor 3. Bridges. Well, first of all, I did not make a quote about Sean Bridges. The quote was made by Topperplayer. Secondly, I have coached Bubba Taylor and I know he is a very good point guard. We rode him to the State Tournament in 2001 when he was a freshman. He is in the record book at the State Tournament for having the most steals in a state tournament game - all as a freshman (8). I have coached against Henry Harris and I agree he is a very good player. He and Bubba had some battles and neither really came out on top. They are great young men and each can play the great game of basketball well. Both Harris and Taylor also, went to the state in 2002.

Doc Shelton will win it all, again. He has been there and won; he will do it again! MLK to win it all.

Glencliff will win. They have 2 great players and one really good player. Jamont is not going to have an attitude in this game - he knows its too big. Glencliff by 10!

Believe me , I know that Wicke can light it up. However, Glencliff has a multi-talented team. They quick, good shooters, rebounders, and Jamont Gordon. Even with an attitude, Jamont is a tremendous force. A force that Hendersonville has not ever seen. I think the only chance Hendersonville has is two-fold: Jamont is hot-dogging and Johnson is off and Hendersonville does not succumb to the constant pressure. Could be a good game is Hendersonville does not give in to the pressure and if Wicke is red hot!

I have to agree; yet Bubba Taylor from Maplewood may be as good or better.

Glencliff will beat Hendersonville. They have too many weapons. Although, Kerry West is a great coach, he doesn't possess the talent that Coach Wright does. Glencliff by 10. Good luck to both teams.

I have known Coach Winrow for years. He is a great guy and a great coach. He was my assistant at Maplewood for years. Let's get real, Franklin on a given night could be anybody when O'Rourke is shooting threes from the NBA range. I have seen him doing it several times. To say Coach Winrow was the cause for the loss is idiocy. The man should be respected not hounded. Get real, all of the accusers have to pay to get in.

Boy, that Alzado fellow sure is smart! Coach G, you're a miracle worker. Naw, I'm wrong. No miracle. Hard work. Fundamentals. Conditioning. Teamwork. Tough Defense. Selflessness. Disciplined Offense. Neat, clean-cut players. Respectful young men. Winners, regardless of any score. You taught more lessons to your players that will carry them throughout their life than anyone thought was possible. This is why coaches do what they do, in spite of the fans that want to coach, the parents that interfere, the stress that creates health problems, and the low pay. Coaches change lives. Coach Gamble does it as well as any basketball coach around. Nobody deserve success more than you and your team. Good luck in the championship tonight. Otis, I don't know how you predicted it, but thanks anyway. Our kids have finally bought into the program. I was so proud of our kids in the tournament. They fought their hearts out and I love them. I told the kids I love them; they have made an old coach very proud of them. These kids are not going to quit; I know they will show up in the region and make Hillwood High School proud! I can't say enough about all the teams and coaches in 11AAA; they are class coaches and teams. I am so proud for our assistant coaches Evan Brown and Keith Dearing; they have worked tirelessly to get this team where they are. These guys are the reason we are winning. They are so supportive and hard working. Thanks guys! I just hope the parents and fans at Hillwood realize how hard these kids have worked. They were so down and out after losing to a great Hillsboro team the other night. But I told them to look at how far they have come. My goodness, these kids are for real! Thanks to all Hillwood supporters and let's hope 11AAA can prevail.
