  1. Congrats on the Owls making it to the Quarterfinals but still don’t think they are a top 10 team. They benefitted from being in the weakest of 3a quads. But being in the final 8 is nothing to be ashamed of for any team.
  2. Congrats to OldIndian1, BPM, and FVHSJackets for getting all Round 2 games correct. Most missed game in Round 2 was Loudon-Smith Co. 3. And I will call you a flat out liar. I am not going to let you spread false information on a thread.
  4. I know what road you are heading down and I will tell you it is 100 percent the wrong information. I didn’t think Pearl was the type of program that needed false motivation.
  5. Its like Abraham Lincoln said, "You can't believe everything you read on the internet."
  6. This will be another 21 plus point win for Waverly. Lewis County doesn’t have the horses to stay with the Tigers for 4 quarters. The Panthers will try and slow down the game with their ground and pound offense; however their defense is not stout enough to make Waverly strong together plays to beat them.
  7. Round 1 standings. Most missed game was East Nashville over Cheatham County. 8. Ask CPA if Pearl Cohn is the real deal. The lions have faced the F5 and Firebirds numerous times the last couple of seasons. They will say PC is a formidable opponent.
  9. This has to be in the running for longest road trip of the 2nd round in division 1
  10. I think you hit the nail on the head. With the exception of the Bolivar QB. I think all 4 other semi-finalists deserve to be on the list. I believe the Bolivar QB made it because of his scholarship offer more than performance on the field. I would have liked to have seen Bachus from Giles added.
  11. I have seen both Waverly and Forrest this year and I can tell you this that if Waverly doesn't turn over the ball it will be a 28 point victory for the Tigers. Forrest doesn't have the athleticism to hang with Waverly. If you look at the teams that have beaten Waverly under McConnell they have been super athletic and well coached. Hope both teams have an injury free game.
  12. Ask Ravenwood, Waverly, Greenbrier, and Page- all top 10 teams in their classification about Mr. James. Granted the Region Fairview plays in is not the greatest but their out of conference schedule I believe makes up for it. PCs schedule was 16th and Fairview's was 23rd.
  13. Correct. From the film I have seen teams stopped kicking to him after he returned a kick off early in the season.
  14. Darius James Stats from unapproved website 136 carries 1302 yards 9.6 yards a carry 28 total TDs 14 receptions 205 yards 22 yards a catch 1737 Total Yards Two Way Starter- 33 tackles on defense. He didn't start until Game 5 on defense. These totals are for 9 games as he did not play in game # 1 for the Yellow Jackets. Rushed for 100 yards in every game. Played 4 teams ranked in the top 10 in their respective classes.
  15. No problem. Here is my reasoning. 1st I have not seen Alcoa in person this year, I have only seen video. 1. I don't like to play the who played who game because in reality Cookeville was playing its best ball when Pearl played them and Maryville had yet to hit its stride against Alcoa. Plus the Alcoa-Maryville match up has two teams that are quite familiar with one another. 2. I believe Pearl Cohn's offense will be the best Alcoa has seen in the playoffs since the CAK teams that beat the F5 a couple of years ago. They have the ability to run and pass, which to me is how you beat Alcoa, unless your CPA and have Super Man playing for you. 3. Alcoa is down from recent years in my opinion. Now that is not saying much because they are still the elite team in 3A. Just think they can be beaten this year, most years that is not the case. 4. Pearl Cohn was in Cookeville last year, so they will not be shell shocked at the situation they find themselves in, plus Alcoa would not be the best team the Firebirds had played all year. Honestly I could see this game going either way, but would love for some fresh blood to win the gold ball.

  17. I think you need to also look at SOS when looking at stats that are being put up by a player. But if a player doesn't face any top teams and puts up slightly better stats than someone who has played a tougher schedule then I think you have to take that into consideration.
  18. Booger what type of mess is this? You guys run away from the tin foil hats up in Blount County and decide to hijack my contest idea? You one percenters just think you are so high and mighty. In in all seriousness. If we get a CPA-Lausanne Final it will be a dandy. Good luck to all the teams, hate we don’t have booger and bcd on the 3A boards anymore.
  19. The regular season has come and gone for the 2017 season. This week the calendar turns to November which means it is time for our annual 3A pick em contest. What are you playing for? Bragging rights for the entire year. So here is how it works. You pick every playoff game all the way through the championship game. For the championship game list a final score in case of tiebreakers. Each round you get more points than the previous. Think March Madness brackets. Remember you must list all winners through the Championship Game. Submissions will cut off at 5 eastern time on Friday. Hope to have a record number of entries this year. Round 1- 1 pt Round 2- 2 pt Quarterfinals- 4 pts Semifinals- 8 pts. Championship- 16 pts.
  20. Right now Covington is my pick to make the trip to Nashville to take on Pearl Cohn the day after Thanksgiving. Melrose is no longer the feared team they once were back in the 90s and early 2000s. Still one of the best games I have ever seen live was the 2004 State Championship Game between Melrose and Maryville. You talk about a slobber knocker.
  21. Spring Hill wins by two TDs. Too much speed for Macon County to overcome.
  22. Trust me. Pearl last year and Camden this year is not the same thing. They base their offense out of the Wing T but they will run some Single Wing, Shotgun sets as well. On defense when I saw them this year they were. 3-4 team but traditionally have been a 4-3. i will say they have a stud DT that could play for anyone.
  23. Pearl will not be challenged in this game and will name the score. It will be a running clock. I have respect for Coach Blow and staff but they simply are too young and don’t have the horses to compete. They are a year or two away from being back to a top notch program.
  24. Ravenwood needs to sure up their defense if they want to make a run in the 6A playoffs. The offense is tough to prep for with a lot of formations and shifts. Coach Blade is a great coach and will have the Eagles ready. If Indy commits to running the football then they win, if not throwing the ball will lead to turnovers and the Raptors will cash in. Impressed with the Raptors after seeing them in person, but their defensive woes make hinder a deep run into November.
