  1. I disagree! LA will win over a pretty good SC squad by 14+.
  2. fbt14- Don't sell your York boys short. As you say, they are a small AA team. It isn't about quantity, it's about quality. York looks like they will win their AA district for my opinion. With big 6'8 Derrick coming back, they will be hard to stop.
  3. Whoa! Let's see here! CCHS beats Cookeville by 3. CCHS beat York by 3 @ York. And you rank BOTH higher than us? DON"T AGREE!! Yours doesn't make much sense. Anyway, this isn't about down the road, it is RIGHT NOW!! Will some of these teams move around in the top 5 in the next months? OF COURSE. Cleveland / CCHS will play this coming Tues in Crossville. Come up to the mountain and see for yourself!!
  4. Gotta go with the Jets first. As we all know Bobcatfan scrimmages in the preseason mean exactly zip. The York Crossville game this past Tuesday was a great one. 1. CCHS 2. Cookeville 3. White Co. 4. Pickett Co. 5. York
  5. Friday's game (1/8) was cancelled till next Tues. 1/12. Should be a great game! Looking forward to being there! Go Jets!! Just for the record Jets win a close one.
  6. Friday 1/9 game between Cleveland @ Crossville was postponed till next Tuesday. To remind some others, Cleveland and CCHS had a disagreement a few years back. This should be a good game anyway, much less with the added excitement of the previous history of these two teams. Should be a good one. Just for the record, CCHS in a close one.
  7. Baller 1- Book it JC by 17? I think you better check the score. Anyway, it was a classic between two great teams. There was more defense played in JC by both teams than some schools will see this entire year. Congrats to the LA Lady Cats on the pressure win!! This was the first of possibly five this year between two quality teams. Feb. 10 @ LA is the rematch.
  8. This will be a very tough District with five or six very good teams slugging it out. WC may be in the lead now, but they will have a tough time walking thru all the tough teams Home and Away!! Good luck WC!!
  9. What an exciting game tonight!! Two definite State Tournament caliber teams in a classic. After the girl's game was over, everyone just kind of sat there!! Even the fans played hard in this one. I agree that Beechboard's step back trey at the end of 3 was a killer. I thought these two quality teams really flexed their defensive muscle tonight which was the main reason for such a low scoring game. Just for the record, I think the reason LA shot FTs so poorly at the end was that they had no one in their face like J Co. was all night. LOL Congrats to the LA Lady Cats with this big win!! Mark your calendar for the rematch on Feb. 10 @ LA!
  10. Enjoyed the classy competition! Two definite heavyweights battled it out tonight. This was one of the most stifling defensive efforts I have seen in a long time! It almost felt like a State Tournament game! Congrats to the LA Lady Cats with their three point victory. Go LA!!
  11. Gotta go with the LA Cats Fri. I hope this is the first one of five. This incredible series reminds me of the old Clarkrange Rickman series. BTW, they really did play five games that year. H-O-G-E-Y-E, Hogeye, Hogeye, T-N-T!!!
  12. Bobbo- Good point about the weather! 7AA is there a possibility of a makeup if bad weather? Anyway, Clash of the Titans is a valid description. I'm goin with the Cats! B There or B square!!
  13. I've seen Sparta four times this year. Coach Hess is not the problem. Give LA a little credit here. LA and Sparta were going at each other like heavyweights (if you were there, you know what I mean). Both teams were slugging it out. LA better not come out that way Friday night. Anyway, LA was making Sparta shoot bad anyway. LA/Jackson Co. Friday night. Be there!!
  14. 6'4" Is this for real? I'm sure all of you know the two things you can't teach don't you? One is speed and of course the other is size. 6'4" and still growing? WOW!!
  15. Sevier Co. was a very good team! They really played a great game with few mistakes. LA had played two close games the previous nights and appeared tired. When they are close, not many get to rest much. LA had some mistakes from this tiredness I haven't seen them make in a long time. We did tie it up just after the half, but then the roof caved in with Sevier doing no wrong. Anyway, LA had a much better game today winning over South Greene by 3. The reason you play in these VERY DIFFICULT touneys is to find out things about yourself due to the circumstances thrown at you. LA learned quite a bit about themselves obviously. I would say the LA girls very much held their own going 3 and 1 against these tough girls.
  16. Take my word for it that Geno, Pat, Texas, Stanford, TX Tech, etc. will definitely find you- IF YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH! This is all about how good the players truly are. The bigtime programs pretty much have only a few of the best of the best of the best that can really and truly play for them. They do not have to take flyers HOPING that someone will be good enough for them. To them they only have so much money and time. They are not in the teaching business very much. They are in the business of getting the best players available. It is the same way in football.
  17. Bradley Central can't get a peek at the top 10 yet they go beat big bad Oak Ridge. Our district is some kind of tough. Bradley Tues. against South Greene. Maybe Livingston on Wed. Don't you just love this time of year?
  18. More and more people are learning that we play a pretty good brand ofball up here on the mountain. How about the single A team beating a quality AAA team down in Smyrna, huh? Clarkrange, Livingston, Jackson Co., Upperman, etc. I bet you have heard of these teams? Nobody plays like the Upper Cumberland. Nobody plays like the Tennessee HS girls either. TN AAU is tops. Wonder why?
  19. Jimbo- Thanks for that 14U update. Didn't quite know that about Beech, Broyhill, and Uner. Hope to see you there tomorrow! Go LA!!
  20. They are. But, I graduated from ol' Hogeye some 20 years ago. As Eeyore says, "Thanks for noticing me."
  21. I will say it like so many have already said! If you are good enough, you will be found. Cumberland Co. is pretty far off the map. We haven't ever been to the state tournament with the girls for example. Yet, sitting here and typing right now, I can think of at least 10 different girls in the past decade who have or is currently going to college by shooting this glorious little orange ball. IF you can play, they WILL FIND YOU!!!!!!!!!!
  22. OOPS!! Bradley Central beating Oak Ridge in the Greene Co. Classic sure messes this poll up. Doesn't it? Cleveland in the finals at Ohio. They are not even listed? OOPS again. It just shows how tough our district is. Also, Sevier Co. ranked number 1 in a bunch of these has a stiff test tomorrow in Livingston at Greene Co. If Sevier Co. wins, they could get Bradley. Stay tuned to the scoreboard.
  23. This should really be a great game! I'm proud of the LA kids. Two wins down against tams that can ALL play great. Great win today against McMinn Central. LA better bring their A game tomorrow. I FINALLY get to go to see my LA CATS play tomorrow. GO HOGEYE!!
  24. Sounds like you had some really talented teams and outstanding girls Saturday. I am watching the scores closely to really see who is the cream of the crop. I really would love to watch Livingston play McMinn Cent.(met last year in substate). Just for the record- Go LA!!
  25. Everybody is talking about payback. Could someone tell me what happened to make Coach Moore want that kind of payback? 37 - 0 , starters in, ANNNDDD pressing. That smacks of extreme ugliness that shouldn't be happening. Many have said that they should have passed more, everyone touches the ball, etc. Now we are on the right track. Coach Moore knew Carter was not very good. Why not dress the total amount allowed to dress, whatever that number is? This is a great game! Don't go spoiling it for all of everyone else. There are ways to solve these extremely ugly games.
