  1. Gosh now surely you know that an asst. coach at an NAIA school would make more money at a high school. Maybe he needed more income. I also read that he was already teaching in the county so this makes sense for him to want the job. Good luck to the new coach.
  2. Now this was nice and I agree. Congratulations to them all!
  3. LOSING programs? 20 wins over the past two years and NO college signees this year? I'd say someone over there is doing some coaching to compete with the schools in the area. Why don't you move to Alcoa?
  4. Man, you beat me to it. I was going to say the samething. Old Dad you are hurting your own stand of bashing on Coach A when he was able to win 11 last year and 9 this year with NO college signees. He must be doing something right to be able to compete with teams that had 8 sign.
  5. I'm sure this will be great bulletin board material. You might need to go hide under a rock.
  6. Interesting hire for sure. Best of luck to him and Centennial.
  7. Correct on the one and done, but that is not all Brighton's fault. This a fault of the TSSAA putting them in a district where they are the ONLY 6A team and they do not face the competition that they face in the playoffs. Oh wait, they could schedule some other teams, but they don't .
  8. Hey FBme guy. How you doing? I was getting lonely under my rock.
  9. Congrats to the TN boys I didn't know they even played football in KY
  10. After watching those highlights I'd say that you guys should be very good next year.
  11. If it makes sense then we know for sure that the T$$AA would never consider it
  12. Let's see I just read the article in the Tennessean about the "tweak" and it also listed a gross receipt for Blackman/Smyrna playoff game as approx $37,000. So half to T$$AA is approx 18,500 (I know this is gross and before expenses). So one game gets T$$AA 18,000. Now add in all the other games that night and on one Friday night the T$$AA is bringing in some cash! Do you think they are going to change anything? Only "tweaks" will be done. From Ronnie to Bernard nothing changes except the mighty dollar always wins out! on another note: I was dissappointed to read that only 119 of the 300 schools turned in the survey that was sent. However, I bet that half of those that were not sent back were never delivered to a coach and sat in some principals email list.
  13. Mindless you and Hogan seem to be in the know of Williamson Co. So when will the word be given for a new coach? I bet those boys over there sure would like to know soon.
  14. Yeah, and the T$$AA probably looked at that and said that if we used more on the Div I side that would be more people at the games because a public school is going to have a bigger backing of people just on mere numbers. so this = more $$$$ for the greedy T$$AA! So let's have 6 Div I with larger crowds only 2 on the private side with smaller crowds and in the long run this is more playoff games on the Div I side which is MORE MONEY. Man its like a drug dealer increasing his profit margin!!
  15. Hogan I wish the T$$AA would trash the Z plan, but your point about A, AAA, and AAAAA is so true. I am a follower of the bigger schools, but your point about Columbia is sooooooooooooooooo true. The same could be said about a bunch of schools in those divisions. (Yes, Alcoa is a different animal they could win in any division). A state championship should be something that is difficult to get to. No way the T$$AA will ever drop the six class though. I agree with what someone on here said about seeding the district winners first because they are made to play those games, but I still have a HUGE problem with teams that win a district and win one or zero 6A games and are seeded above teams that play in a all 6A district. ( I just used 6A as an example so don't get on here and bash me and say that Alcoa or Signal Mountain would win in 6A also) The bottom line is go back to 3 or 5 classes at most and have districts with 3 classes or regions with 5 classes. Atleast a team would be seeded by winning a district or region that they are actually classified to do!!!!!!
  16. Still going to have problems. Didn't they do this two years ago that way? If they make the quads first then seed you still will have problems. Also, what I complained about a bunch last year was teams that are 6A in a district that is all 5A or 4A that are in a district that the rest is all 3A and etc. It is not right. the T$$AA needs to realize that 6 classes for Div. I is TOO MANY! Since I am closer to 6A teams then I will state it again: Teams can be seeded higher in the playoffs and they don't even have to win but one or sometimes no 6A games! Makes ZERO sense.
  17. I guess I touched a nerve with this boy How many of those wins came against real teams???
  18. West Creek had some good athletes but will be just the same. Ditto for Clarksville. They play in a fairly easy district. Henry County will be first place. Dickson County and maybe Springfield will be second/third and then all the Clarksville schools. Clarksville does not care about football. Never have and never will. I'd say from there Dickson County will make 6A playoffs and get beat, Springfield will do the same in 5A and Henry County would have best chance of moving on and winning some in playoffs. If you truly are an Alabama HS Coach then stay out of Clarksville is my advice.
  19. What responsibility did the guy from Ensworth have? Pretty good choice to take a state champion. Did Bowers give him any responsiblity or was he just another pawn of ole Ricky
