  1. When are db's scrimmages and who are they scrimmaging? thanks
  2. Made the change for you, pujo.
  3. Congratulations to both Hampton and Cloudland, on the hiring of both your Lunsfords. I hope to make another trip, up in elevation, this season to see the matchup.
  4. I enjoyed my visit to Hampton. Enjoyed the burger from the concessions. Great atmosphere. I'm not sure why I waited so long to go watch a game there. Congratulations on a fine season. On to basketball games now.
  5. This. Illegal touching is also when a lineman catches a pass too, I believe. Yes. Its comical that people thought the blocked punt should belong to the punting team. How long have they been watching football?
  6. It's "first touching", not "illegal touching". Theres no flag because, as I read it in my ole gift rulebook, First Touching by the kicking team is NOT a foul. No flag for first touching. The receiving team (MC) can simply choose to take the ball at the first touching spot. That's why they moved the ball back, to the spot where the kicking team first touched the ball. What happened (Hampton recovering the ball) after first touching doesn't matter. Basically, the zebras got it right. Now, if they didn't give the coach an explanation, I don't understand that. Honestly guys, find, borrow, or order you a rule book. It makes stuff like this make sense, and imo fun to know the right rule.
  7. Pudding in the house. WOW! 2A doing Friday Night Lights right at Hampton! This place is packed. Someone go get me a burger n coke. Don't wanna get up and loose my seat. I'm already sitting on a big lady's lap.
  8. Ok, twist my arm. I'll break out the long johns and pick up the hand warmers at Wal-Mart, I'm going to make the trip to see this game. I hope I can get a dang seat though!!
  9. Good Luck on Friday, Hampton Bulldogs! Many folks all over NET are pulling for you! You've earned the right to be where you are. Just take it one a few steps further!
  10. I, for one, love it the "32". In NE TN, it separates the real big boys from the pretenders. Teams are now playing on the levels they should have been for years, against equal size schools for conference play, rather than padding their records in regular seasons, and being embarrassed in the first round of the playoffs. Now they can either step it up, or be embarrassed all season long. I also don't like the "Super" part of it. Very few are "Super".
  11. Good gracious. So what, the kid waved at the crowd. He's a kid. He wasn't thinking. I'm sure he'll be talked to. Is that the worst thing that has ever happened in lily-white Greeneville? Is this the last thing you all have left to whine about until next football season? ..just so I'll be prepared.
  12. Haha, you need to get out of Greene County occasionally, tubby. Sure, he's quick and put up some numbers on a very weak conference, with little resistance, Even your arch nemisis, Sully South was way down this year. He is a good high school running back, no doubt. But, to declare him the greatest running back in the state... you're just making yourself look silly. BS on the 600 lb squat, at 140 lbs. I guess he runs a 4.3 and can bench 375 too. Ha! You asked "what does college have to do with it". Well, snaggletooth, the best running backs in the state have been snatched up to to play at the next level... you know, like Hurd at UT. Come on, you're getting laughed at now. Let's just agree, he had a good season at Greeneville, and he should be proud of his accomplishments.
  13. Catholic by at least 21 over Marshall County. QB is overrated. BVDevil, honestly son, you should get out more. You said "they held the best running back in the state to about 150 yards ...". Your 5'6" 140 lb running back is the "the best running back in the state". So where is he going to play college football, this best running back in the state? hahaha I appreciate that you love your team, and the little fella has zigged and zagged for some yards, but come on. Greeneville overachieved this year and should be proud of the season they had, but wow you need to take those green colored glasses off. Funny guy. You're done now, by the way. Enjoy round ball.
  14. I agree with Batman, mostly. But, blazer, I've seen many of your games over the past several years too. In my opinion, you have one of the best coaches in area at HC, in Coach Jenkins. There's just not a lot of talent in Gray right now. He'd be a rock star at a school with consistent talent.
  15. Prayers for the GCA team, school, community, and especially the family of the young man. Prayers from Kingsport, and safe to say Northeast Tennessee.
  16. I think Morristown West and Sevier County will be the better game. Catholic will double up Greenville.
  17. Hey Dark Knight. I've been watching and listening for some time now. I attended 3 Dobyns Bennett games this year, and part of the time, I forced myself to watch different positions in action (rather than just watching the ball all the time). I was trying to get a feel for the game schemes of the position coaches. From what I have learned, being a transplant into this community, and watching high school football for 30+ years, here's my 2 cents: 1. The AD is a horse's ### and needs to go first. First hand experiences. 2. Coach Clark would make an amazing AD, if he wants it. But you can't force him to step down as HC. He's there until he doesn't want to be there. 3. Hold tight to the O-line coach, and the linebackers coach. 4. Replace the D-backs' coach and whoever is calling the offensive plays. 5. Bring in a new head coach that will light a fire and won't care if he has the room laughing (like a Ballard). Specifically, go after Coach Rob Black. Black at DB would be scary good. 6. After hiring Coach Black, hire a real, experienced, educated, person for the strength program. I'd look to the college ranks to find someone that knows what next level is. DB has the facilities in place already. Year round plans and inspire the kids to work year round. 7. Let the new HC put his new OC in place. 8. Just like Science Hill, prior to the arrival of Stacy Carter, there is a lot of talent walking the halls in Kingsport. Find out how Coach Carter has gotten that talent out, and do that. Not that Carter is the greatest, in fact I'm not a fan. But it can't be denied that he turned around what was a terrible 6A program. 8.5 Put all this in place and then quit whining about it. It's going to take time. Not ETSU kind of time, but the new HC deserves support and support only. Hope some of this makes sense, and you guy don't just sling mud at me. I will throw pudding back. You've been warned. Pudding
  18. Prayers for the Grace Christian community and the family of the young man who lost his life. So tragic. For the game, I have seen both teams play this year. I recognize the size and athleticism differences. I'm going Catholic 42, Greeneville 21.
  19. Is this game on tv tonight? Is it streaming online? Website? I have to be at work, so there might as well be a game on. Thanks.
  20. Sorry Waco, you Indians just aren't very good. There's no way you can say they have loads of talent and have this kind of season.
  21. Well, the coaching in some areas may lacking, but: I've heard excuses from "we need to play a tougher regular season schedule", to talk of demographics or enrollment, to the AD, to head coaching, to the lack of a good strength program, even that the only thing important to the kingsport is the band. I don't think I've ever heard anyone simply say, maybe, just maybe, Kingsport simply is not as good and not as talented. It's been my observation, from living all over Tennessee, and from history itself, DB, sorry, but you just aren't as good as the other big schools in the state. But you have an upper deck and a hamburger themed jumbo board.
