  1. After attending the South/Betsy game last night, I'm not sure my old azz ticker can handle much more excitment. Yall don't expect an exciting, electric atmosphere tonight in JC do you? I'm struggling to decide if I want to get out in this crowd, or stay home and help mama hand out treats. Batman says weather is not looking good...gotta check. Traffic will suck too. But wow, I hate to miss this game. Shucks. Batman, you have yet another youngin coming through playing? What's that like 13 or so? By the way, Bat, I'm sooo curious who this striped midget is. hehe I work with a zebra, here in the real world, but I don't think he's your all's midget. (LOL if he is). Can you give me a last name first initial? I hope this game is epic tonight. 49-50 or 2-3. Just close. And no hand shake hijinks like Crockett.
  2. That's a lot to throw out there, Bat...implications. Are you talking about DB's former football coach, L.K.?
  3. Ouch! Hard to argue with facts... Not a Kingsport, Sullivan Co, or NET guy here...not originally, but becoming one. Both schools seem to be doing justice to your kids. South's scores pull the rest of the county up, it seems.
  4. The gut tells me that the Topper roll this year. Science Hill in a suprisingly lopsided win. SHHS 48 DB 20 Stacy and assistants will rant and rave on the side lines, regardless the score of this game. Will he get away with the sideline show? Graham will make some Andy Griffith-like post game comments. How many "stupid" penalties will the Indians earn? I'm getting there early and watching for Waco and Batman. I'll be wearing red and a hat. Will someone buy a brotha a hotdog?
  5. Were their names "Deion" and "Bo", by any chance? Ha! Dark Knight, you keep me laughing.
  6. Unfortunate for your Vikings, but the line has to be drawn somewhere. Now ya know how poor little Sullivan Central has felt the last few years. If only you had been a little closer to Kingsport: they might have forcably annexed some of Bristol like they did Lynn Garden and Colonial Heights over the years. Then you could have played down.
  7. NET teams: DB, South, GreenEville, and recently Elizabethton travel very well. Volunteer has a loyal and strong fan base. Boone has had stong travel years. Science Hill is top 7, I think, in enrollment in the entire state, and travel like a 2A team. I never understood this one.
  8. Thanks fo the explanation, Blazer. I went back and found that thread, I had missed it. I think I read on there that DB had only 6 flags (right?), two of which were personal foul type flags. Sooo, they were all bent out of shape over 4 flags, 2 of which were pass interference, is sounds. Pretty clean game. To me, interference is a lot like the charge/block foul in basketball. A lot can happen, that noone can see from just one angle, that could deserve an interference flag. Wish I could have seen that game or the video. It has me curious. Is there a great conspiracy against the almighty DB? Surely not. I have more of an issue when some of the striped senior citizens aren't in position to make calls or are just lazy.
  9. What I've seen in NE TN this year: There's a couple. Malik McGue from Science Hill is an amazing athlete/high school QB. Anyone that has seen him or his film on Hudl understands. He's just too small for any position in D1 IMO. He does have next level tools though. Would make a very good D2...etc CB, safety, kick/punt returner. Fun to watch.http://www.hudl.com/athlete/397364/malik-mcgue Dylan Wieger from Sullivan South. Has broken Curt Phillips single season passing TD record, which is impressive. He's a big, athletic qb. I've seen him outrun many a corner and run over several more. You better not try to tackle the kid high. Has a great arm and is scary smart. I am told he is deciding between some Ivy schools and Duke. 2nd best South QB of all time IMO. D1 tools and size. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1756638/dylan-wieger
  10. LOL! I must have missed these two. You can count on one hand the number of even 4.4 kids in our area over the last ten years. Unless someone cares to prove me wrong. I can only think of 4 off the top of my head.
  11. Do the city indians have problems with "disgruntled zebras" or just at Boone? From my observations over the past few years, Kingsport gets the same couple of zebra herds, week in and out. I'd think they'd made friends by now. Did I miss some news? Why would they be disgruntled?
  12. Is the "chocolate" supposed to be racial? I'm not ashamed of my melanin.
  13. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt, I'd say maybe 60.
  14. Haha! Nah, nowhere near the edge, Dark Knight. This guy obviously has a double digit IQ and no football knowledge. 41-0 in the 2nd quarter and it's the refs' fault. Haha! Aren't you happy he is representing your Indians.
  15. DB 42 (all but 7 in first half) Crockett Zero. Pioneers will not score this week.
  16. Wow! New low of ignorance, NCboyfordb. I went and watched this game too, thinking it would be a good game. Science Hill could have beaten Morristown 80-0. The limiting factor, being the slaughter rule clock in the second half. I'm usually pretty hard on the zebras, but this herd had zero effect on this game. They flagged very little, and from what I witnessed from the Morristown bleachers, the zebras flagged pretty obvious, easy calls. 48-0 and a DB fan yells "home cooking". Wow! (and for the record, Coach Carter seemed to behave on his side. But then again, it was a blow out).
  17. Science Hil 41 Morristown West 24 But, on a more important note, will Coach Stacy Carter finally lose it completly on the sidelines. (Well, technically, he spends a lot of time actually on the field, not the sidelines.) Go Stacy Go!
  18. NCmanfordb, please tell us more about "DB LOSSING" and "ALOT of Morons". Bless your heart.
  19. Greeneville by 3+ tds. Am I the only one who has wondered what happened to the Patriot program since the '80s? They should be better, year in and out.
  20. The gut tells me Sevier County by 8. I'm going the other way, and going to say both teams struggle to score as others have predicted. SC 28 DB 20.
  21. Science Hill 48 Mo West 20 NCmanfordb = an indictment of grammar / spelling / English classes in Kingsport. Kingsport, your village idiot is on the loose again.
  22. South by 3+ TDs. The concept of the forward pass and how to defend it, has yet to reach SW Virginia.
  23. Kingsport Times News, Saturday morning, Sports Section, front page. "East Hamilton spoils new DB stadium unvailing". EH by 6. The Pal's scoreboard will be awesome though, so you should feel ok about it. The Home Depot clearance rack press box, not so much.
