  1. Thanks for the info.Don't know if WMOD will be covering the game but you can hear our stream at WCMT.com or download the Thunderbolt Radio App for your phone and hear all of our various broadcasts of Region 7AA & Region 7A
  2. Thanks, dmm! Defensively do they press much & fall back in what?
  3. Can someone familiar with 14AA help me. Did something happen personnel wise with Bolivar in late January maybe? They had a solid win over Lexington, a thumping of Fayette-Ware and a 2-point loss to Southside but seem to have struggled since. Close wins over McNairy & Chester, much closer wins over Fayette-Ware and a woodshed loss to Southside. Then seem to struggle in District tourney. Will have the broadcast with Westview Friday night so any information is appreciated.
  4. Peabody will host South Fulton and Union City entertains Humboldt. Greenfield awaits the Halls/Lake Co. winner.
  5. For some reason the "drop down menu" for voting in Class A did not include DuBois until after I voted and notified AP. Likely others were unable to vote them as well. I'm sure they'll break the Top 10 next week.
  6. Indian, I have always argued that a Rural-Urban split is the best and fairest way to divide schools. Think it would generate more money come state tourney time as well.
  7. Current South Gibson Coach Mike Greer is being announced today as the next coach at Westview
  8. David Ayers will be the assistant principal next year at the middle school so both head basketball positions are open.
  9. Both basketball positions have been posted in Lake Co. Bret Johnson has chosen to give up the girls and David Ayers, the boys coach, is the new assistant principal at the middle school.
  10. As I said earlier, not taking away anything from Huntingdon, Peabody, or McKenzie, the rematch with Adamsville would've been a round earlier in the quarterfinals if they both get that far. The mention of TCA was only because I couldn't figure out why I was being replied to so curtly about my opinion on the TSSAA rule allowing BTW/Carver in the playoffs. It obviously benefitted McKenzie the most directly. I still stand by my opinion that teams finishing 3rd/4th in their districts should not be rewarded for the misconduct of fellow district members.
  11. This conversation started because of my disagreement with the TSSAA standard that all teams must be represented in the playoffs and because I briefly mentioned TCA it morphed into something else. I have great respect for TCA as an academic institution and for their athletic programs. Have always been treated very kindly by their staff/administration/fans when I have broadcast TCA on the radio. I wish them well but the fact is, according to TSSAA playoff maps, if there had been NO representation from District 16, Adamsville would have been the #3 seed in Quad 4. Scotts Hill would have been the only team heading to Quad 3. At any rate, I will state my disagreement one more time and then be done. I do not think teams who finished 3rd & 4th in their district, and did not qualify as wild cards in the matrix, should've been placed in the playoffs simply because the teams above them did something to get banned. Ask Watertown how they feel going 5-5 and getting shut out of the playoffs because of the rule.
  12. The benefit in replacing Hillcrest/Mitchell with BTW/Carver was that Adamsville still was bumped to Quad 3 and delayed that anticipated rematch by one round. Very familiar with Memphis basketball though I would include all of West Tennessee in the list of title contenders.
  13. Once again, know what TSSAA says but don't agree with it. It is allowed to disagree with our governing body. Don't agree with rewarding teams in a district for what those above did to get them banned. Under this rule, if Wayne Co. & Loretto had been banned in the same way Collinwood & Perry Co. would be in the playoffs with 1-9 & 2-8 records. Course it was a rule that benefitted TCA.
  14. Said nothing about the rule or its application, other than I don't personally agree with it. There were teams in the matrix that deserved to make the playoffs over BTW & Carver. Why should they be rewarded for finishing 3rd/4th in their district just because the top two teams were banned from postseason.
  15. When Hillcrest & Mitchell were banned from postseason, BTW & Carver moved up. Forgot that would be the case, don't agree with it but it is what it is
  16. Perfect hire for the 'View! Former Charger Boys coach, firmly entrenched in community with plenty of experience as head high school and college assistant. Looking forward to having Bucky back at the table on Saturday mornings.
  17. Certainly not an "expert" opinion but yes they can and have postponed tournament games. Have already altered schedules here in West Tennessee. You used the word "cancel." A district tournament could be totally cancelled because all the TSSAA requires is that each district advance a Top 4 to the region. I'm sure this would be avoided if at all possible. Regions would be completed with whatever creative scheduling needed (including waiver of two-game a night rule I'm sure) and yes State Tourneys go on no mater what I would think.
  18. Yes 14A tournament is moved back one day. Play-in games Monday, girls quarters now Tuesday, & boys on Wednesday.
  19. Play-in games are now Monday so boys quarterfinals are now Wednesday
  20. Actually, if Lake Co. beats Halls tomorrow night Bradford has the tiebreaker on Halls with a win over LC. Halls would be the #6 seed in that case.
