  1. What's up with Nave, and how long is he out? It is definately hard to win with the ace on the bench. Of course we all know that tournament time is the most important time, but right now, it is ugly.
  2. I don't know, but I sure hope whoever gets the job doesn't do any "recruiting" as you call it. The last time I checked, That's illegal!
  3. The conference scoring leader goes 6 for 20 and you win by eight. I hardly believe I would talk about anybody being overrated. Those shots on any other night fall and yes you are beaten. However they did not fall tonight, and the Blue Devils won in a very tough place to play. Good luck on the rest of the season, and get ready for the next meeting.
  4. I don't know what game you watched, but the game I saw Hardly had Wiggins dominating anything. If I am not mistaken, the kid wound up with about 7 points. It just happend that the 7 or so he scored were at crucial times in the game. Even with that, SG had a look at the end of Regulation to win, and Donahue missed a layup with only seconds left in overtime or who knows, they may still be playing. The fact is that you take away the imports from GHS (Boone & Wiggins) and GHS may not have won a game. These two make everybody else better. With that said, there is no doubt that GHS is a very good team now. However, the last time I checked Greeneville hasn't blown SG out in several years, and I would not expect it to happen any time soon! It will definately be a good game to see.
  5. It's hillarious to hear people jawing about the refs even before they show up to the game. The people from Greene County often feel the same way about going to UC. There is one thing for certain, it will be a heck of a game!
  6. Kyle Donahue from South Greene is averaging around 25 per game.
  7. Give me a break! Apparently you have not seen very much AAA boys basketball. It will be a wonderful season if Greeneville can make it to the State, much less win it.
  8. Forgive me if I am mistaken, but didn't DB get beat by about 40 in the opening round of the Arby's Classic. If this is so, I hardly believe they can be considered the #1 team in North East TN.
  9. It seems that everybody has forgotten or overlooked the SG Rebels (4-0) in the conference, with wins against Etown at Etown and a waxing of the Valley. Also lost in OT to a very good Greeneville High.
  10. It will be interesting to see how many fans show up for Regional Tournament action at Union County. Union County's people don't even show up for games at Union County!
  11. Greeneville did play a good game tonight and the 6'7 kid can play. I was more impressed with the control the administration at GHS has over it's student section. After the game, all I saw was little basketballs being thrown at the SG players as they were walking off the court. You guys have a lot of class! A lot of Class!!!! I am sure that will be addresses by the Principal, who was watching the whole thing! My bad, I forgot, the administration has no control!!! There was even a comment from a Greeneville fan about how embarassing the student section was. That is pretty sad. Maybe those fans who truly feel that way should do something about it, because nobody else will! That's for sure!
  12. You are right about one thing! You should not place Parkey in the same category with Ricker. Ricker has won four state championships, placed second and third numerous times, and took the Rebels to the state tournament around fourteen to fifteen times. You are right, Parkey doesn't belong in Ricker's category! Whether you like him or not, he will go down as one of the most successful coaches in Tennessee history.
  13. There are two Wright brothers starting for the Rebels this year, and the other Wright brother, the third one on the team, gets some playing time. As far as Bruce Wright goes, he isn't playing anywhere this year, but hopes to get to play football next year.
  14. They also lost to South Greene!
  15. Actually, the Donahue kid is pretty good. There would be a many of teams that would love to have him. As far as being Cocky, I was just jawing. He is actually one of the best kids in this old world. I'd be proud to call him my own, even though he isn't. If people could only see where this kid started and where he is today. Impressive!
  16. I don't know how they will be, but they do have potential. The Donahue kid got 32 and 31 in Hall of Fame Games and was chosen All-Tournament in the Land-Air Classic. However, SG doesn't count Hall of Fame games, win or lose. Thus, that 31 point average didn't mean anything. When it did count, his average showed it. Cocky? Yes! Good? The verdict is still out!
  17. Amy Hawk at South Greene! Will do a great job!!!
  18. Although not a part of the Watauga just yet, Kyle Donahue from SG is very good.
  19. I am not going to make any predictions on the games, but I am going to give Sullivan Central a big thumbs up! I am a South Greene fan, and I can definately say I would like to see the Rebels in the state tournament. No matter what happens, good luck and congradulations. It is good to see teams from upper East Tennessee go!
  20. It must be rewarding for a AAA school (Sullivan Central) to beat up on AA schools. Oh, I forgot that they needed help from refs in the semi-finals and finals. If you can be proud about being AAA and winning the AA Regionals, than congradulations. Buckle up for next year, you will get your rear-ends handed to you when you finally go to the classification you have belonged in for the last several years. Furthermore, Alcoa will kick your rear end in the Sub-State anyway, so your time is short. It won't be long until we can hear you on here whinning that your season has ended as well!

  22. SG finished the year 24-8 and was the #1 sede. I dare say you did not have an easy road. However, we do feel you had the officials in your back pocket, so I guess you did have the easy road. Just show up and get taken care of. Pretty easy!
  23. The players are selected at the district meeting, so it either had to be a coach or a media person. I would like to think that it wasn't a coach. These names are not supposed to be released for a reason. I haven't seen any names on here except the two supposedly "Players of the Year" . Have all of the names been released? I sure hope not. I did see that the girls' Player of the Year has also been released. This is shameful!
  24. It is kind of funny to see Cumberland Gap in the top 10 when they finished with a 5 sede for the district tourney.
