I'll admit it, I'm a pessimist and a nay-sayer...and I didn't realize that having an opinion made me an idiot or mean't I had a lack of class or guts...I merely stated what I thought...I don't throw down things you say, so please extend me the same courtesy...if you don't like it, merely say it...although, I will be honest...I wasn't aware of all the hardwork and extra stuff Maryville does to be a great program...and yes, I have been to a Maryville game before...but surely you understand as an outsider, I don't keep up with what all goes on and this and that...which is probably stupid of me, I'll admit if I'm going to have an opinion on something...but I hope you don't believe I'm not the only one who has, or at least had, that same opinion...

Of course, because Maryville is the best high school team in America...the only defense that can contain Reggie Bush... How is Cleveland looking this year, by the way??? I didn't get to see their game against Bradley...

Perhaps this should be the top 5 coaches to play for in the Knoxville area...

I was just giving my opinion (happy with the spelling grammar buff?)...thats all...you're really taking this the wrong way...I mean, think about it...you all win the state title every year, thats come to be expected under the Quarles regime...would you not like for your school to have some national recognition, because that is quite a feat...not many schools can say they won 5 titles in 6 years...I was just saying you all could make the people think that Class 4A in the State of Tennessee is not weak if maybe you all scheduled some tough, perhaps nationally ranked out of state teams...and by the way...I don't support any particular team...I just love football

I already said Quarles is a good coach, what more do you wish to hear??? I believe Quarles is among the best in the state, however, 5 titles in 6 years just isn't natural in my oppinion...something seems wrong with that picture to me...and it is either one of two things in my oppinion...either the state is weak in 4A year in and year out...or...there could be more going on then "good coaching"... I have to disagree...I believe Byrnes would dismantle Maryville...just my oppinion...

Nice post, LordInfamous...I believe Maryville should definitely try their hands at teams like Camden County(GA), LaGrange(GA), Byrnes(SC), etc. etc....also, I know winning 5 out of the last 6 championships gives Maryville plenty of credibility, however, scheduling teams like Riverdale, McCallie, Montgomery Bell Academy, etc. etc. would give them lots of credibility, just like playing Byrnes, Camden County or LaGrange would...I think until Maryville starts playing some out of state teams, they won't get much recognition nationally...and my oppinion, for what its worth...its all well and good that Maryville can win state every year in 4A over here...but 4A over here compared to Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida is pretty weak...just my oppinion...

I know they are in Blount County, as is Heritage and William Blount...and I know coach Quarles is a good coach, a really good coach...and you're right about there not being alot of d1 talent, but just preparation and coaching...however, I just don't honestly believe preparation and coaching wins you 5 titles in 6 years...of course, then again, until I've been in the lockerroom with Coach Quarles or been to a practice, who am I to say...

With that said cbq, I would like to raise a question that I have been wondering for a while...how does Maryville get good talent year in and year out...I must say, I hardly believe Blount County is THAT loaded with talent, especially for one high school...not slinging dirt at Maryville, just stating my oppinion and asking the oppinion of others...

I would like it if Maryville started playing some teams from out of state...like maybe Byrnes (SC)...would be interesting to watch...

I can't wait to see McCallie play Alcoa...that should be a heckuva game...

Byrnes is a good team year in and year out...however, they lost in a scrimmage a couple of weeks ago (as if scrimmages mean anything)...just throwin that out there...one of the other teams in SC thats nationally ranked is Summerville...throwin that out there as well... I know this is off topic, but question...will Maryville and Alcoa continue their dominance this year or did they lose alot of talent??? J/W...I enjoy watching them do well and win championships and I was hoping I would get to see more of it this year

First of all, you need to calm down, all I did was give my oppinion on what I thought, if you don't like it, thats fine...secondly, I said the west and middle have more talent because, historically, they do, so how am I thinking what I want to make me feel better??? Its a well known fact that the west has always had more talent then the east when it comes to basketball...if you don't recognize this fact, then you're an idiot, and you should quit posting...and to address point 1, how many rural schools won a state championship this year??? None...and to address your statement about Knox and Chatt...when you have more talent and more high schools, what do you think is going to happen??? That talent gets spread out...when you have more talent and less high schools what is going to happen??? Success...its all just common sense my friend...you should try using it...

From the east, I noticed Bearden and McMinn Central traveled well...thats just from the east though...

East TN has many great coaches, its demographics, plain and simple...The Middle & West have more to choose from...their spot is basketball while the east's sport is football...

Nobody is taking away from Hamilton's coach and what he accomplished...many are just saying the way he acted at the end of the 4th quarter took away from their image...

He was the starting point guard for McMinn Central before he tore his ACL against Sequoyah down towards the end fo the regular season...if he can stay healthy nexty year, Central should be in good shape considering all the talent they are losing...

I have friends from Cleveland that play football and one that plays basketball that tells me that you all have an incoming freshman class that is supposed to be, as they called it, raw...I also wasn't aware you were losing that many people...and I also was trying to be a good sport in spite of your arrogant comments, but if thats how you feel, thats perfectly fine...
