  1. its good to see that some of yall still have faith in the Titans, but all of the veterans cut to get under the salary cap is just gonna be killer....its almost impossible to make up for the loss of perenial probowl guys like Smari Rolle and Derrick Mason, but they do have some young guys capable of filling their shoes its just gonna take time. i think the offense can be better than last year. the O-line is weak but they've got alot of talent at all the skill positions. Bennett showed he can be a #1 wr last year, Calico has drawn comparisons to TO, Ben Troupe is a freak athlete at te, some people expect him to break out and have a season like Antonio Gates did last year, Brown and Henry are both good enough to be starters for about half the teams in the league, and McNair is looking better than he has in years, but if he goes down with an injury the offense wont miss a beat with Volek in the lineup. if the defense can just play decent they have enough offensive fire power to play with most teams in the league.
  2. Cowboys fan huh? i think they got a real good chance at making some noise this year but i guess thats for the football board aint it. back to the signature, you can get one with those guys on it if you really want one. this guy i talk to on a fantasy football message board makes them for 10 bucks and he can put anything you want on it. i think its kinda neat to have one if your like me and waste alot of time running your mouth on message boards...coacht, antsports(fantasy football), rivals, etc. check out this link it has some of the ones he's made. custom sigs if anybody wants 1 let me know and i'll give you a way to get in touch with him.
  3. well, its finally here boys. some good ole Sunday football after all these months of watching steroid popping baseball players take up my ESPN time. what do yall think is in store for the Titans this season? with me being a big fan and all, im praying that some how we can come away with a winning record but it seems like wishful thinking. we got a good backfield with 2 guys that are capable of being feature backs in the NFL, a stud reciever-Drew Bennett, a couple of probowl caliber guys on defense-Bullock and Haynesworth, a former mvp at qb, a offensive co. coming off a national championship, a first round draft pick that cant hold on to the ball, and a whole lot of youth and castoffs taking up the rest of the starting spots. the schedule is atrocious to start the season, a good chance we'll lose the first 5 or 6 games...but who cares, atleast we get to see some football again. its gonna be tough watching us get pounded again all season but look on the brightside, we've got a real shot at gettin Matt Leinart in the draft next year. anybody think they got a chance at having a decent year or is this season down the drain before it ever starts? yall check out my signature when you get done reading this....
  4. some people just dont get it do they? maybe i should pull out ole webster and read the definition of capable. like i said, 2 of the 3 arent pitching good right now, but they have in the past, and still can when they get their stuff together....at some point in the past year all 3 have been successful closers. their rotation is better than "ok". Smoltz and Hudson would both be the ace on over half the teams in the league. in a 7 game playoff series those 2 will pitch 4 times...and last i checked thats enough to win the series. by the way, im not a Braves fan, i just think they have a good enough team to make it to the World Series this year....slick yall check out my sig...nice aint it?
  5. well.....you'd be wrong then slick. heck i didnt say they had Mariano Rivera, Billy Wagner, and Brad Lidge in the bullpen, i said they have 3 guys CAPABLE of closing games. i already mentioned that Farnsworth was lights out in his short stint as a closer in Detroit, Reitsma has struggled some lately but he was a decent closer earlier in the year before injuries started to hit him, and Kolb made the allstar team as a closer last season.....thats 3 guys capable of closing games. a couple of them may be in a slump right now but they've showed before that they can get the job done when they have things goin right....therefore they are "capable" of closing games. now check yourself before you doubt king btown again
  6. seriously now, you know Hollandsorth is nothing more than a castoff. he isnt gonna help the Braves get to the postseason, not that they need help anyway. now Farnsworth on the other hand, he was a great pickup. he's got electric stuff and he's finally putting it to use in route to becoming one of the leagues best setup men...and when called upon he can close games as well....he was dominate as a closer those last couple of weeks in Detroit. i honestly think that having a rock like him to use in the 7th or 8th inning is something that could help put the Braves back in the World Series. im gonna go ahead and make my bold prediction that the Braves make it to the Series this year. they just seem to have all the pieces in place to make a run at a championship. they have a couple of dominate starters that you can trust to perform in big games with Hudson and Smoltz, a solid bullpen with 3 guys capable of closing games(Reitsma, Farnsworth, and Kolb), they've got speed at the top of the order with Furcal and Giles, power in the middle with both of the Jones' and Franceour, they've got a few guys with .300+ ba's....everythings there for them to still be around at the end of October.
  7. same here...if i can work with Barney Fife
  8. Kemp was supposed to take an official visit to UT today but havent heard how it went yet. he also has visits scheduled for and Arkansas and Kentucky in the next couple of weeks. Young has visits setup for UNC, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, and Kentucky....starting with GT on the 9th. Wright was supposed to visit Kentucky today and he has other visits scheduled for Duke, Louisville, UNC, and Vandy.
  9. Sox, Sox, Angels, and the Yanks....they just have too much talent not to make the playoffs, yea their pitchers stink but if they can hold the other team to 4 or 5 runs they will still be in most games with that offense. Braves, Cards, Padres, and.....heck if i know, im wanna go with the Mets but the Marlins have more talent.
  10. yea i wonder whats up with that. are his grades not good enough for college or something? i hadnt heard any talk about it then he just up and commits to Memphis and leaves for Florida.
  11. he plays along side Thad Young at Mitchell. he's a good combo gaurd but im suprised he's goin to a SEC powerhouse like Florida. i wish him the best of luck but he's got a ways to go before he makes a significant impact on that team. Florida has a thing for our top prospects dont they....3 years ago they got Lee Humphrey(best player in the state), 2 years ago Corey Brewer(best player in the state), and now they get a guy who would normally be the best in the state most years but he gets overshadowed since this years class is so loaded.
  12. wrong....if they wanted someone to get 3 and a half yards per carry they would have just kept Eddie George last year. no way he will start over Brown. thats the fullbacks job to block, we need someone that can move the chains and only 1 time in Henry's career has he averaged over 4.1 ypc(4.4) Brown averaged 4.9 ypc in his first season as the feature back. watch espn, read a paper, whatever you want but you idiots are the only people saying Henry will start...even Fisher said he will be the backup.
  13. here you are talkin about Andruw Jones carrying the team when you know good and well the Cards wouldnt be able to make the playoffs this year if Pujols wasnt there. correct me if im wrong but hasnt Atlanta won a world series more recently than St. Louis?? you dont have any right to talk smack after the way my boys smoked yall in the series last year and will do it again this year if yall make it that far! Edmonds sure did his thing in the allstar game didnt hit...no hits, no spectacular catches...wait a minute, how exactly do you figure he came in and did his thing??? lol you finally see the light huh....if he goes hitless he did his thing, that a boy...now we just need to get opperman to realize Edmonds aint the player he once was.
  14. 2 or 3 guy? who the heck is gonna be their number 1 guy??? a team thats counting on unknown Bedard to come off the DL and be their ace doesnt have much of a chance at making the playoffs.
  15. you guys that think Travis Henry is gonna be the starter are crazy. he wont see many carries unless Brown goes down, sure he was banged up alot last year but it takes more than 1 injury plagued season to write him off. i dont see whats so bad about Brown, the man had a 1000 yard season in only 11 games last year. Brown averaged 4.9 yards per carry while Henry only averaged 3.5, a washed up Eddie George can do that. Henry will be one of the better backups in the game but he's not gonna make or break our season. Brown is the man with the ability to take us deep in the playoffs, not Henry. however, with the depth the Titans have at rb he's worth a 3rd round pick so i hope they get him but he's not gonna have another 1300, 1400 yard season again.
  16. we might as well just give up because we could keep telling them the stats all the way through October and these Cardinal fans still arent gonna admit that Edmonds isnt playing as good as Jones, Lee, Cabrera, Griffey, Floyd, or Burrell...atleast theres still 2 people that can realize the obvious.
  17. ah no doubt they are gonna have to play some great ball since they fell so far behind early but with Wood and Prior healthy i dont think there is any team in baseball that can match the depth they have in their rotation...we seen that Zambrano can be an ace last year when he had an era under 3, we all know Prior and Wood have down right wicked stuff when they are healthy, no explanation needed for Maddux, he has seen his best years pass him by but there still isnt a team in the league that wouldnt love to have a veteran pitcher with his experience, and even their number 5 guy, Jerome Williams, has the potential to be a star in the near future. now they need to get Nomar healthy and get Corey Patterson playin to his huge potential and they should be fine. the Cubs always make a big move at the trade deadline too...Nomar last year, Aramis Ramirez the year before, i wouldnt be surprised if they came up with another big bat to play left field so they can send Murton back down here to Jackson where he needs to be.
  18. thats crazy.....Edmonds isnt a top 3 outfielder so far, look at the numbers i posted a few days ago and this time open your eyes when you read them and you'll see the truth, and to be honest with you he's probably not even the best outfielder on his team so far this year, offensively speaking(which is what the AS game is about), Reggie Sanders doesnt get any recognition but he's having a heck of a season.
  19. well excuse me buddy i was just makin a point. dont you have something better to do than sit around and pick apart my posts for errors.
  20. yea your right about them not gettin in over the Nationals...cause they are gonna win the division. sorry Braves but all good things must come to an end eventually.
  21. .......it will probably be more of a shoulder or an elbow that robs their chances of winning the wildcard. ive just got a feeling that Prior and Wood can stay healthy for 3 more months and get them a first round butt whoopin by the Cards.
  22. sorry but i tend to disagree with that. last year they were hurt most of the season and missed the playoffs but the year before they were both healthy and put up Cy Young candidate numbers and came 5 outs away from the world series.
  23. the Cubs are fixin to crank it up a notch in the second half and take the NL wildcard. they've got their 2 aces back to their 2003 form, they've got Corey Patterson down in the minors gettin his game together cause he has the potential to be a superstar if he'd quit swingin at every thing, Nomar should be back sometime in August, and Derek Lee is in another world right now the way he's been playin. their bullpen is weak but Dempster has done a fine job closing so far. they will make a move for either a left fielder or setup/closer and they will be set for a playoff run, thats if they can finally stay healthy of course. the AL wild card is gonna go to...not the Yankees or the O's...not the Twins...not the Rangers...........but the Indians are gonna win the wildcard. they are gettin overlooked right now but they are fixin to make some noise and play like they were expected to at the beginnin of the season and make a push for the Whitesox but they'll fall a few games short and end up with the wc. the O's are gonna fade big time in the second half if they dont trade for an ace cause their rotation is very weak. the Nats arent gonna go away like yall think. gettin Preston Wilson was a great trade for them, no he's not the superstar he was a few years ago but he's just about the best bat on the block this year. i think they stay right were they are and the only way they miss the playoffs is if the Braves catch them, i dont see them fallin back to the Braves. as far as players go i think Carlos Beltran, Adrian Beltre, and Todd Helton triple their power numbers from here on out while Morgan Ensberg and Cliff Floyd see their numbers slide in the second half. for pitchers Johan Santana will be the most improved while Jon Garland begins to look more like the back of the rotation pitcher he was before this season. AL East- Bo Sox, AL Central- Chi Sox, AL West- Angels, WC- Indians NL East- Nats, NL Central- Cards, NL West- Padres, WC- Cubbies
  24. i didnt say they were better defensively, if you read my other posts you'll see were i said Edmonds is one of the top 3 outfielders when it comes to defense, but the allstar game aint about defense. nobody watches the allstar game for defense they wanna see people hittin 500 foot blasts. Edmonds offense isnt underrated either he's usually a great hitter this just isnt one of his best years...he's hit 39 and 42 homers the last 2 years and has a 293 career average and he just isnt putting up those type of numbers this year. its over with now though and like gotmilk said, Andruw backed up our case for him being the starter over Edmonds and once again yall will be watching games 1 and 2 of the series in Boston, hopefully.
  25. so first yall said Andruw isnt all that he was made up to be but then you say you think he'll hit 600 hr's . thats quite a contradiction you got there cause 600 is some very, very elite company. anyway, he has been far from a dissapointment...the man has averaged over 30 homers the past 8 years and looks like a sure bet to hit 45-50 even if he does cool down a little in the second half. not to mention his defense...him, Edmonds, and Torri Hunter are in a class of their own when it comes to defense in the outfield. a wall full of gold gloves, 4 allstar appearances, should have 300 hr's after this year....all of this from a man thats only 28 and he still isnt good enough for some people. yalls hero Jim Edmonds is 7 years older and only has about 40 more hr's.
