Prayers from Westview and all of Weakley Co.

Years back when UC was in 2a this use to one of Westview biggest rivalries! And now that it "seems" UC will actually stand a chance in this game this year, the rivalry aspect is starting back up around town! I will have to take Westview, after being kind of embarassed in the jamboree, i have a feeling these boys will come out and show what they are really made of this year! I will have to agree nwtnsports....but defense is going to be the key to winning games for Westview this year! They are putting an offense on the field that is somewhat experienced so there should be no problem putting points on the board! The question will be keeping points off the board with such a young and inexperienced defense on the field! I like the way you put that GC! Everyone counts the West part of TN out every year but it may just be Milan's year! They return a lot of talent and Coach Morris is still in control. Alcoa may be brought down by the power of the Milan Bulldogs this year! Marsalius Teague and Dominique Allen from Henry Co. are the top 2 in West TN... Another 2 to watch out for are JC Griggs of Westview and Jabronski Gilbert of Milan, both are great backs with 2 different types of running styles, but they are both great backs to watch! If Warren is on the field for the Vols this year he will bring a lot of talent that is needed right now! Not only is he an athlete but he is a football player, and most of you know the difference there! Milan-Westview is always a great game, shouldn't change this year! Westview-Henry Co. was one of the best games i saw last year and should be good this year on the new turf at Hardy-Graham Stadium, and with the Patriots having revenge on their minds! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

My view of Region 8-2A this year is headed by the big 2 that its always headed by...Milan and Westview. my early predicition is Milan winning the region with ease! Westview will be right behind them finishing 2nd. Do not hold me to that though...Westview has a young but talented group of guys with a big o line, a young fresh arm at qb, and the same smash mouth running style of JC Griggs! Can't put all my money on these boys yet cause i have not seen them in pads other than this spring but i think they have the chance to surprise some people this year and give Milan a run for the region championship! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

The Wing T isn't an offense many like to watch, but it seems to work! It is all about speed outside the tackles and power inside the tackles with a good mix of misdirection! When ran correctly it can give defense fits all night long! Basically it wins games, but doesn't impress crowds! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Westview doesn't have any thing....it is the truth! The only thing they have is their gym and thats because it is a part of the school! Westview does not own its soccer, football, baseball, or softball fields! The rights to those are all own by someone else! Of course Westview doesn't mind playing at UTMs field, but Westview is the best football program in Weakley Co. and maybe the best athletics program period in Weakley Co. All they want is to have something of their own they do not have to share! It is just like a teenager sharing a car with a parent. You ride around in this beautiful new car and all your friends see it and love and think high of you, till the next time they see it and your parents are riding around in it and your in the back seat! That's how Westview is with UTMs field! They need something of their own and they have plenty of land to do it, all they need is an ok from the city! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I have to agree, Westview does deserve their own field but it will be a little while before it happens with the way things are going! Unfortunately Coach Coady and the boys are going to have to suit up on the turf this season. But if i had a say so i would hand UTM's field to Westview cause if you were to compare records on that field and and the number of people in the stands at each game, Westview would put UTM to shame! Westview doesn't mind loading up and driving down the road to much these days because they have been doing it and winning for so long now! Plain and simple, UTM should have let Westview have a lot more say so on that field, seeing how the CHARGERS not SKYHAWKS bring on most of the revenue!
