Not true. There has been rumors of coach Bibb leaving every year since he came to Pickett county. He is an outstanding coach and we have always expected him to be offered a chance to coach at the college level. He has committed to return next year and should have a very good team with the talented underclassmen returning.please stop posting speculation and rumors unless u have talked to him yourself.

have scrimmage set...still need one regular season...this will be 3rd year of varsity football.

Pickett Co high school, a small 1A school in Middle Tn needs a regular season game on either week 1 or week 6. Pickett Co is located 45 minutes from Cookeville TN and about halfway between nashville and knoxville. Would need the game to someone close to the area or willing to play at Byrdstown. Also need pre-season scrimmages in August. Anyone interested please call 931=397=0119.

pickett's head coach is matt walker and they have 5 volunteer assistants. hsfootballfan you are right about several local kids moving out of county to play football...one of the better prospects for pickett will be at york this year as well...hopefully with the growth of the program and the county getting behind it and the growing interest most of the kids will stay home play.

they will be at tn tech for a jamboree on the 17th. they have 21 players this year so the added numbers will help.

they also play lancaster christian, riverside christian, kings academy, st. andrew's sewanee...3 of the basketball players play and have alot of talent

T.C. Capps will have a future at the college level, but he needs some perimeter skills to complement his inside game. I think this is a great opportunity for him to prepare himself and is a good move by Coach Bibb. In reply to the posts about Coach Bibb, I think he is the best coach in the district and his teams (not just PC) have a track record of being very fundamentally sound and well prepared. I think as long as they have a coach like Bibb, they will be in the chase for the district championship. I expect Jacob Wright to have a breakout year as well as Capps. I think Roddy is going to be tough in the post and Brent Logan has a chance to get hot at any time and with a little more aggressiveness could be one of the best players in the district next year. James Gibson is a tough defender and can shoot the ball, so this team has alot of balance if they can just put it together. This team will surprise alot of people this year. Also, Clarkrange has the players to make a run, but Clay Co is the clear favorites. Their coaching staff does a great job and gets the most out of their teams every year. It wouldn't surprise me to see them go to state this year.

hey casc, long time no see. pickett is playin in the livingston christmas tourn next week..should be some good games. monday we play george washington carver out of memphis at 7:00 i think. we will then play either the winner or loser of clay co/ station camp.

which ever one comes out of 7aa..lol

I disagree with parts of both of these posts..In response to Bailey choking in big games, he does not choke..He still gets 10+ points per game even while being the main focus of the other teams defense...As far getting the most out of their potential, i disagree with that also..Most of these boys won back to back state championships in jr high and haven't even been back to state without Nathan Aaron and John Crouch..I don't think this team has even scratched the surface of it's potential..I agree 100% with the post about the team trying to play too pretty. In response to the part about being not very athletic and not very good shooters, i would have to say you are crazy..Josh Wright is perhaps the most athletic player in the upper cumberland..The rest of the team is well conditioned and most are as athletic as any team in the upper cumberland..Shooting wise, Joseph Bailey is the topic of a poll as to who is the best shooter in the state...The rest of the team is from top to bottom the best shooting team in all of single A...There isn't a thing wrong with the shooting in Pickett Co..I do with the team would be more physical and not try to be so pretty..Most of these boys will be seniors next year and have one last chance to make their mark on pickett co history..Some of the players give their all every game. Some of the players need to look inside their selves and ask if they really gave 100% effort every game..This team will be back next year, possibly even better..Luke Mason and Dustin Mitchell contributed so much to this team..They will be missed greatly...]I've enjoyed watching Luke play the last 4 years and I would take 5 players like him on my team anyday..Dustin has progressed so much since his freshman year.It has been the most remarkable development for any player i've ever seen..You guys had great careers and Good Luck to Pickett next year as they go after the gold ball.

That's just wrong..Our girls did show great heart..They beat Clay Co once this year and Clay Co could be going back to state this year..Our 2 seniors will be missed greatly next year..Ashley Cook will be a great pickup for some college and Danielle Smalling sparked the team with her defense all year..Most of the players will be back next year and i believe we will only have one senior next year as well..This team got the most out of their talent...That's the most you could ask of any team.

Jimbobcooter, i don't think there is any way clay co. loses to friendship...only if chase stephens doesn't bother showing up...this is the most parity i've seen in the region in a long time.. 4, maybe 5 teams could make a run at the championship..i do feel that if pickett and clay co play up to their potential they will meet in the finals..i think that Westmoreland could upset pickett in the first round if pickett don't come to play, however i don't think Westmoreland has the firepower to go all the way..i didn't think trousdale would be very good this year, but they have a legit chance to run the tables on this tournament..I feel Gordonsville is a good team, not good enough to be number 1 in the state, but could be good enough to win the region..I also feel RBS could pull the upset if they play hard..Meador is incredibly talented and Hudson and England can shoot..I think Clay Co. will be the wildcard in this..They can play with anybody if they come to play and i think they will be in the finals...My pick is pickett vs. Clay, just my opinion.

Trophies are only good for collecting dust..Everyone who has seen Laura Hall play knows how good she is..Her talent is providing her the opportunity for a college education..She is a great ballplayer and will excel on the next level as well.

No offense redbud, but Bobby Knight does not deserve to be on this list...He's a good player, but not the best in his district, much less state.

Pickett wins by 10+..Clay Co..RBS vs. Gordonsville could go either way..Trousdale should handle Clarkrange, but it depends on which Clarkrange team shows up.

I hope pickett co wins it ballmaven, but it will be incredibly tought..pickett faces tought competition from it's own district and region. Clay Co and RBS is tough and then in region we will have to get by Gordonsville..Chatt Christian is in our substate so it will be very difficult for us to get to state..I haven't seen Halls play in the last 2 years, but they will be really tough as well..Don't count Temple out either, they are still the champs until someone beats them.

Josh Wright had an awesome game. He did it all, rebounding, scoring, and unbeliveable passing. Josh was really the difference in the game tonight. Bailey had a nice game with around 14 points or so..His rebounding really stepped up tonight, and we'll need that from here on out. Luke Mason hustles more than any player and i was really glad to see him get 2nd team all district..Lance Staton doesn't get near enough credit for what he does on the court..Any time he enters the game, the game immediately changes. He had an awesome game tonight.Dustin Mitchell was a huge factor in this game as was Grocie, and Lance Mason..Good all around team effort tonight bobcats...Meador had a really good game tonight as well as England. His performance was alot better tonight than at Pickett Co..Good luck RBS against Clarkrange. I'm sure whoever wins 3rd and 4th in 7A will give 8A a run for their money. I"M picking at least one upset between the 7A #3 seed against 8a #2 seed or the 7a #4 seed and the 8a #1 seed..I feel one of these higher seeds will be going home early. by the way bobcat fan, who are you??

either Red Boiling Springs or Clarkrange..depends on if u get 1st or 2nd in ur district and if rbs or Clarkrange comes in 3rd or 4th..Clarkrange has been playing really good ball lately but they are streaky. rbs has the talent to win the region but sometimes they don't show up to play..either team will be a good matchup in the first round.

I think pickett wins this one by 8, maybe more. The key to this game is rebounding. If pickett crashes the boards, they win big. If not, rbs could get the win. We match us real well with red boiling except for they are a little bigger than us. There defense isn't as aggressive as Clay Co's so if we shoot well then we could force them to play catch up and their team isn't built for that.
