  1. Ricky is so deserving of this award. His work ethic and team attitude have been a cornerstone of the Blue Devil team of the last three years. Congratulations to him, and all the other finalists!
  2. Great season guys!!!!!! Having started the season amidst adversity and criticism, and to have turned it around the way you did, you have so much to be proud of!!! This community is so proud of you.....I am so proud of our players and coaches. Good Luck Notre Dame!!!!
  3. Like I said, this isn't the first year of the taunting of the "Greenbrier cheering section) which for some reason sets up camp on the visitors' side)", but it WAS the most outlandish and over the top. From the racial slurs to the adults challenging our kids to fights.....whew. It was indeed an experience. Nevertheless.... White House 14 Greenbrier 7 Thats all that matters to me......
  4. Even if we are done, oh well. We won when it counted and that was tonight in Greenbrier.
  5. Exactly....From the get go they were just trying to get something started. I heard cursing, one racial slur, and also when our #71 went down, one of them yelled over the silence, "There you go, take 'em out one by one!!!!" These weren't kids, by the way, but adults. No class. It got so bad, I almost feel like someone should address this problem with the principal. There were kids around, but it didn't stop the cursing, and verbal attacks on Ricky. The worst behavior I have ever seen at a high school football game in my 30 years. Where the police were is beyond me, because I know of one or two that were straight up disorderly conduct. I know this is no reflection on the rest of Greenbrier or their players, and Greenbrier has an awesome team and gets better and better every year. They should be proud of how great they played this year. To the guy who said he hates us and will cheer against us,..... Bitter. Tisk tisk. I cheered for you guys in the state championship last year, and would do it again, regardless. Because afterall., IT'S JUST A GAME. THESE ARE KIDS!!!!!! WE ARE NEIGHBORS, and I will still root for you whenever you guys are in the postseason, regardless if you guys can't do the same for us..... BDP.
  6. Hope we get another weather night like tonight!!!! Man was tonight perfect or what? I don't wanna have to pull out the insulated coveralls yet....lol GO BIG BLUE!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Go East!!! I can't begin to say how proud I am of how well you guys have done in this, your first year in a new, very tough region. It is so cool to see a small community school do so well, and I am ALWAYS cheering for you guys!!!
  8. Dude, read the post a little closer. He wasn't knocking Polk County's website at all. He was a Greenbrier fan saying that he wished they (the Bobcats) had one like it. So your comparison/knock on our website in regards to your team's was unneccessary.......
  9. The split should never have happened. Always remember those political idiots on both sides, Robertson and Sumner, who split our tight-nit community. They have names. They did very little to prevent it from happening. Just three years ago, we were all on the same side. Let's don't forget that. Let's all support our community. I support both sides of White House football.
  10. Thanks Vandyman...... To everyone else, I guess my wounds were still sore last night. Those of you who know me on here KNOW FOR A FACT THAT I have never posted anything like that before. It was posted moreso out of frustration for my team than anything. That's all. My humble apologies....and I mean that. Let me also say this, you CAN BET 110% that I am going to be rooting for Greenbrier in the playoffs week in and week out on your way to state. You guys deserve it!!!! To the DEvils, the phrase "BDP" came out of a loss, not a win. We start next week with a clean slate. As far as infighting. That's what a year of frustration brings. I really don't think it's that big of a deal. Our freshmen team was 7-0, and our middle school hasn't been beat in 2 years, so I think WH fans have much to look forward to. But for right now, it's onto the road we go. I haven't given up on this team yet.
  11. Congrats Bobcats.....I take it as an honor that beating the White House Blue Devils is the equivalent of the Red Sox winning the World Series for you guys. This was an off year for WH. But, BDP shined thru. It's just that this lack of a balanced attack that has killed us all year has bit us in the butt once again. Regardless...celebrate, Greenbrier...I am sure a ticker-tape parade is in order, as this is the biggest economic boost in the city of Greenbrier since beer sales were approved. A good ole fashion hoedown is in order. After that, it's off to the Sonics' for some grub..... Anyway you slice it, losing to one single team for TWENTY-THREE YEARS IN A ROW is flat out ridiculous.......even your most faithful will admit that. To the Blue Devils...........23-1 against Greenbrier since 1981...Not bad. Good luck to both Greenbrier and our boys in blue next week............Let's get it started.
  12. White House 55 DeKalb County 14 Score was 41-0 at half. Freshmen played pretty much the entire 4th quarter, and were stuck in here and there throughout the game, especially in the second half, so it was good to get a chance to see them play. The freshmen will make a huge impact on next year's varsity team.....
  13. Advocate23...I appreciate your passion. I have always thought that WH fans, especially at our home games, have been too lackluster in their cheering. However, it seems that when we are all scrunched in on the tiny visitor bleachers at away games, we seem to make the most noise....in fact, one former player said they enjoyed playing moreso at places like Portland, because our crowd was closer to them and they could hear us cheer better. Hey....I have BDP. I understand BDP. I have very close ties to the person who uttered the phrase BDP for the first time. I never suited up, but I back those who do, and did in the past. Sports fans are sports fans....when you are doing good, everyone's a fan. When you are doing bad, everyone's a coach or critic. That is how it is everywhere. Don't take it so personal. It doesn't mean that they don't care. We just all want to see our team be successful. I will however, echo someone's earlier statements...in 2-3 years, when our current 8th and 9th graders become juniors and seniors....BDP will be making some serious headlines.......Until then...I will cheer LOUDLY, and yes, I am sometimes critical of THIS YEARS Blue Devils.....BUT...don't doubt my loyalty. GO BIG BLUE!!!!!
  14. I was so thrilled to see the final on this one....Keep it up, EAST!!!!!
  15. Like I posted in another thread, I can't believe that we are now in week 6 and our coaches have yet to correct the passing problem. You can consider this my opinion, but as I have went to WH games over 20 years I feel a little qualified to say that this is the most anemic passing game I have ever seen from WH football. If we are going to beat a Pearl-Cohn team that is currently playing inspired, emotional football, and who are made up of TREMENDOUS athletes, then we are gonna HAVE to find some balance in the offense. If they shut down our run, what will we turn to? I know we whipped them last year, but the 2004 Firebirds are much different than the 2005 Firebirds...the same goes for the Devils. The WH "O" line has indeed made much improvement, and has a lot to be proud of. And even though a win at Pearl-Cohn seems at this point unlikely, like I said in another thread, and also like turf-master posted just before me....The Blue Devils have BDP...which means they can never be counted out. Believe.
