  1. Hey GWAVE1...thanks for your interest...I'll have to check on that as well....You are thinking of James Taylor, who graduated in 1992. In my opinion, he was the greatest RB in the history of White House football. That boy was a one-man wrecking crew, and in those years, all we had to do was hand it off to him, and watch him go!
  2. Once again, like Antwan stated earlier, isn't it ironic that someone using the name "Roy D. Mercer" and the signature, "How big a ole boy are ya" is accusing those at White House of being "hicks" and "rednecks"....this fact alone makes me laugh out loud and not take seriously posts from someone such as this...he's just trying to ruffle feathers. C'mon....
  3. I think that if Chris Brown can stay healthy, he will be one of the premiere backs in the league. He is a lot faster than most would think.....Henry would indeed be a solid backup, and his Tennessee connection helps add a little spark.....All that said, I am so ready for football.....
  4. Man...I'd love to see Mark Martin return for one more year!!!!! But honestly, I think Mark is ready to bow out after this year. I see him making an impact in the Craftsman Truck Series next year, however.
  5. Solomon...I agree 100%. I was at first, skeptical of Travis Henry coming here, but I am now getting excited. I think that Chris Brown is the man, but if Travis Henry was on the sidelines, it would indeed, light a fire up underneath his rear to perform and stay healthy at all costs. Whatever it takes to take this team back to the level it once was is alright with me!!!!! GO TITANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Muffin is the only one on here whose comments apply in my opinion. Everyone else, bash all you want, if you live in other NFL cities, you'd see that the arrest of NFL players is a common occurance. That being said, he (pac-Man) needs his rear-end congratulated...he just gave the Titans much needed leverage in negotiating a contract. !!!
  7. I know that NASCAR is extremely dissappointed that their two biggest stars are struggling. Gordon started off strong but hasn't had the best of luck in the past few weeks. Dale JR has stunk all season. The only exciting thing for them this season, is that Mark Martin and Rusty are still close to the top and have a chance to win it all in their final seasons.....
  8. Who says we can't hand the ball off to Jarrett Payton and Joe Smith, the number ONE and TWO rushers in NFL Europe this year? Chris Brown is amazing when healthy, but we need to be looking at depth. When it comes to Eddie, we all have a place in our hearts for him, and I'd love to have him back, but lets face it, he is a ZERO in the free agency market right now, otherwise, someone would have signed him by now.
  9. I hope you are right in your predictions, turf master! We all saw what a school of 800 did in 4A last year! I truly believe that last year's WHHS team would have won state hands down in 3A......I hope and pray we can bring that intensity back down to 3A with us. I am so excited about this year! GO BIG BLUE!!!!
  10. Coach Perry is, as of right now, firmly in place as the head coach of PHS. From my understanding, he did inquire about the Blackman job, and if I am not mistaken, he has a child either attending, or who is about to attend, MTSU, so maybe that plays into things. Nevertheless, it would have to be something overwhelming, in my opinion, for him to leave Portland.
  11. Lots of challenges this year, as there is each and every year, but Coach Porter will have the guys ready to play...I look forward to finally being in a division with schools our size for the first time in 4 years!!!
  12. Wow. I didn't catch this. Ya know...I think there is something in the water when it comes to RB's in Denver. They have had tremendous success over the last few years, and given the gutsy moves of first the Clinton Portis trade, then most recently the Ruben Draughns trade, maybe they know they are indeed onto something...Nevertheless, can't wait to see Clarett play in the pre-season, as all eyes will be on him!
  13. lol...Yeah I caught that too, then again, even he may realize that when he watches it on tape. Maybe he was just caught up in the moment. Just trying to give him the benefit of the doubt!
  14. I agree with Gerry Bertier...NBC does do a HORRIBLE job covering sports. Remember their horrendous coverage of the Olympics a couple years ago? Sheesh. That was awful. What I remember most the last time they had NFL was that they were the ONLY network that didn't keep the score in the corner during the game. Only showed it when going to commercials. Ridiculous. But next year, I bet they assemble an all-new all-star team to take over the Sunday night gig....I'm curious how it will all turn out. The most exciting thing for me is the earlier start times...... Ten years ago the move of MNF to ESPN would've been major....nowadays, almost everyone has cable or satellite, and like someone said, anyone who is a fan of sports or MNF, will already have ESPN....
  15. I, too, see it as a WH-Pearl-Cohn rematch in the playoffs.....Pearl-Cohn is ALWAYS dangerous, they have the attitude, the energy, and the athletes.....!!! I don't want to wish my spring/summer away, but BOY!!! DO I MISS FOOTBALL!!!!
  16. Ok ok...so we cheer for the sissy while you cheer for the redneck. MMM-KAY! When I think of REDNECK, I think of the movie "Deliverance" ! Does "Squeal like a pig !!!!" strike a chord? How many championships has Dale Jr won by the way?
  17. So true. In Marty's last year, they started 0-5, and it was ugly, those weren't just losses, but they were getting BLOWN AWAY, but they finished the remainder of the games 8-3, to end the season 8-8. They were definitely headed in the right direction, but then Snyder went and got Spurrier. We all know how that ended up...lol!
  18. For me personally, it will always be White House- Portland. A battle of neighboring communities....Through the years, it has always been an incredible atmoshpere and matchup. 9 times out of 10 it is a close game......
  19. Ok...I know we lost quite a bit of leadership and experience at key positions. Who can we count on to step up this year, and what are areas of concern?
  20. Just know that all your favorites get beat week in and out by this sissy, or so you call him. If that's the case, this SISSY kicks all your drivers rear-ends week in and week out. Maybe you all should try and pick drivers who actually win, or at least, speak FULL SENTENCES....sorry that eliminates 90% of your drivers...!
  21. Wow, cat...didn't realize how much the Broncos have done...You're right their moves are quite impressive. Plummer is a decent QB, he's just living in the shadow of , in my opinion, the greatest QB of my generation. Elway was amazing. Shanahan is a top-notch coach who provides a contender every year....Hope they do well. Classy organization.
  22. Coming back from three laps down to win at Martinsville...he is the man to beat, every week. Like him or not, the dude can race. Don't hate because he wins.
  23. Kinda been a uneventful year on the free agency market. Which teams, do you think so far, have been making the best moves? In my opinion, the Giants, Lions, and Bears have been the most aggressive.
