UTC has never had a baseball or men's soccer team.

I think it was a great idea to move the tourney to Franklin. Chattanooga is the center of TN Wrestling but that does not mean they should have a home match advantage for the State. Nashville/Franklin is the central location in TN. How many fans from Memphis/Nashville schools came this year as opposed to past years? Year 1 in Franklin is not going to be near as smooth as year 20 something at UTC. They should leave it in Franklin for 5 years and see how it expands and then reevaluate.

Good Hire, best of luck to Coach, hopefully he can turn this culture around. I still think it is a good school and can be a winner again. It will just take alot of work to change everything and stop making excuses. USC has some of the worst facilities in college football but they have a winning tradition.

What kills me is the Tennessean used to do a writeup on every team that was the size of their 5A writeup today. They need to get back to their roots and stop talking about that goofy orange and white team to the east.

If this is true that is a great hire. I am not sure about his coaching ability but I do know he is a great person. I just wonder if he can teach the quickness and strength combination that made him one of TN greatest wrestlers.

I know him personally and he is a great coach and an even better individual. I am glad he got this great opportunity and I know he will make the best of it.

My guess is no way. You do not get rid of a coach who is competitive for going 0-10. He took over a train wreck. I predict Hillwood will win 2-3 games this year.

I agree. The schoolboard has turned one of their best schools into a joke. Athletically they cannot compete b/c they have so much turnover in coaches. I think someone needs to step up and find a solution to the problems or the curse will continue.

Hillwood is cursed. Look at ALL of their sports they are TERRIBLE. I bet they did not have a winning record in a single sport. It is not the kids it is the administration and Metro. They are not compettitive in most sports. Teachers do not stay there and the school is over crowded. What neighborhood would support a team that gets killed every week? Something needs to be done or it will continue. Metro needs to step in b/c the school pride is destroyed and most can tell where it came from.

Are you serious? Hillwood has not been competitive the last two weeks and you think the #1 team in our region will only win by 1 TD. Hillwood is riding a 21 game losing streak and most have not been close. I think Coach Phillips has a team that makes alot mistakes and has a bunch of penalties. I hope they can turn it around but Gallitan might have all 250 players get into the game Friday.

Why are people talking about Oakland and baseball on a Hillwood/Lavergne thread? I think Notre Dame will beat Georgia Tech but you do not see me talking about it here. I have an idea start a thread that says Oakland is better than Lavergne in the playoffs then make your points.

Hillwood should stay in 5A. They have had 2 bad years in a row and now it is a LONG process to rebuild. What happened 3 years ago they were 12-1 and the toast of Metro? I think their principal needs to pay some attension to sports and they could compete. Back in my day we played at Lavernge for Homecoming and won pretty big. I am tired of excuse of why Hillwood stinks. People need to stink it up and stop throwing pitty parties.

Hasn't Hillwood lost 19 in a row? Ryan has a very good proven coach and is getting better every year. I am not sure how anyone could say Hillwood will win. I am glad they are playing again. Ryan was always a big rival of ours.

I was just curious how does a team score 5 points in a game? Are they really that bad? I have no clue about players/coaching but seeing 5 points in the paper sparked my interest.

That just shows a lack of class. To run leave the starters in throughout the game is just ridiculous. Congrats you scored 100 on a bad team, that a week later scored 5. Just remember what goes around comes around.

As a former player for coach Link I feel very bad about this situation. He was my last link to the school and the team. That is kind of sad since I played only 10 years ago. I think he will get a much better opportunity. Some one needs to step in b/c in 10 years Hillwood Athletics has gone from one of the better programs in the city to the biggest joke in Metro. Best of luck to Coach Link, he is a great coach and a better person.

It needs to Rain alot on friday for Hillwood not to get blown out again. They have looked terrible this year which is very surprising. I am not sure what the problem is but I do not think it will get fixed by friday. Whites Creek wins big.

Can someone tell CSS to find a different game b/c the way Hillwood has been playing they should not be on TV. This one could get ugly. If someone knows what is going on with Hillwood please tell me b/c I am not sure.
