  1. Stephenson had his kids ready to play tonight… the game was a war! Big time atmosphere for some small town girl’s basketball!
  2. Webb actually does have a really nice campus and dorms for anyone that was wondering… and if you haven’t been to the Bell Buckle Cafe, that alone is worth the trip there. I’d throw some junk defenses at them mixed in with some 2-3, maybe throw a little token press every now and then to change it up for a possession. Give them several different looks. I’m sure Coble knows who can/can’t shoot for Webb. Adjust the defense and know who to cover out on and who to sag off on and help in the paint. As much as you people don’t believe it, Webb is a beatable team but ALL of the TCA players will have to contribute.
  3. Yes.. I know their players well.
  4. You’re playing Webb… TCA can play with them with the right game plan in place.
  5. It ain’t the news you want to hear, but pretty sure TCA has Webb…
  6. Good win for TCA over Providence! TCA v. Webb now I believe…??
  7. Gibson should beat Camden 20-25. I've seen Camden a few times this year. Bailey is a good 3-point shooter, but they don't have the guards to run with Gibson.
  8. Her graphic for Miss Basketball doesn't have any shooting %'s on it. Just take a scroll down her hudl page to see if she can shoot the 3... obviously not all of the highlights from every game are on there, but gives you an idea of if and how deep she can shoot the 3.
  9. Jada hit 3 3's in the second quarter the other night in the district championship that busted the game wide open... ain't nothing wrong with her 3 point shot... http://www.hudl.com/v/2H0LkA
  10. Knox Catholic is decent and BA is okay… not much depth as far as teams in AA
  11. Good point… unfortunately, outside of Ensworth, DII-A is more competitive than DII-AA in girl’s basketball.
  12. There are private schools that I know of in DII-A that are looking into the possibility of adding the boarding right now. In fact, it’s already in the works at one of the schools.
  13. Webb played one of the toughest schedules in the country this year. The complaining about Webb is getting old. It is obvious they’re beatable with 6 losses on their schedule. There are several schools in the state that have the same opportunities that Webb has. Baylor offers boarding and is great it in wrestling, McCallie has boarding and does great in football… there are several more schools that offer boarding but haven’t invested into athletics like these schools have. Talk to your schools about offering boarding…
  14. I saw East Hickman at Gibson County pre-season playday and I’m not sure they have the horses to run with Gibson though I could be wrong. Taylor Holt is a good player for EH but I’m not sure they’ll beat Gibson.
  15. If East Hickman beats Gibson in the semifinals, we don’t deserve to be playing in a region championship. Gibson is a bit better than East Hickman.
  16. Loretto ain’t beating Gibson 20+… Westview has better role players and more shooters/depth than Loretto.
  17. Call it what you want, but Westview is better than Loretto. I said before the season that Loretto is the team to beat, but Westview is better than Loretto.
  18. If Gibson plays like they did tonight, Westview is going to run us out of the gym.
  19. I was at Loretto/South Side… the difference in that game was the first quarter. Loretto started the game on a 9-0 run. Outside of that, South Side battled with them for the next three quarters.
  20. Westview is a fun team to watch. High level fundamental basketball with shooters at every spot on the floor that all play well with each other. They dominated tonight and there’s no way around that. It looks like the district tournament will be played at Westview.
  21. Westview is the best team in west this year. We could beat them in a game, but I like the makeup of this Westview team. The 2-3 zone with Barr in the middle completely takes away the paint for opposing teams. You also have Jada on the right side of the floor on that 2-3 zone which takes away any opportunity for teams to get comfortable on the right side of the floor. If Westview is at full strength with no one in foul trouble, the only way to beat them is to shoot a high percentage from 3 as most teams won’t be able to match with their zone. As for McKenzie, they will be fine. There are not many Single A teams that run like they do. Also, North Greene’s big hasn’t exactly gotten back to where she was last season. McKenzie may or may not win it all, but they’re the best team in Single A.
  22. I agree. Some of the talk here does get wild. I'm not a big fan of comparing the two coaches. Both are successful, do a good job, and have the track record to back it. Just leave it at that.
  23. Westview is good. Brigance was huge. Barr was outstanding in the middle of the zone defensively. Jada and McCall did what they do. It’s going to be a tough obstacle for Gibson to knock off Westview this year. I think we can, but going to have to take a great game for us. Westview does a good job with the 2-3 zone, they don’t just sit back. We looked lost at times tonight.
