  1. Are the boys being played in Vance Gym or is that the girls?
  2. you might want to check out the Chattanooga Times Free Press stats or go to murphyfair.com and see these stats. These are the correct stats, I know for a fact! Just don't want this guys to be slighted on their numbers. They deserve every yard.
  3. Those numbers for Soddy Daisy are a little light. The true regular season numbers are Orr with 2115 yds completing 62% with 23 TD's and 10 INT's. Ricketts with 40 receptions for 930 yds and 15 TD's, Atchley with 38 receptions for 740 yds and 5 TD's. MoMo has rushed for about 730 yds. Just wanted to clarify that.
  4. Being a graduate of Boyd and very involved with one of the 5A programs mentioned, I can honestly say that I think Boyd would give each team trouble in different areas. I feel that Ooltewah, Soddy-Daisy, and McCallie would end up winning, but it would be a tuff game. They have very good fundamental players and are very disciplined. They remind me of a Maryville type team. Not necessarily the best athletes, but do things right. Could they handle the likes of Soddy-Daisy, Ooltewah, and McCallie, probably not, but realistically, they are not suppose to. They do indeed play some tuff competition in their non-region games, which makes them so tuff in their region and playoff games. They are one of the best programs in the area, year in and year out. They deserve their props for sure.
  5. Todd Collins (Jeff Co), at Carson-Newman time of hit. Had me seeing stars!

  11. Any news on who the next man might be? Are there any current assistants on staff that would be interested? Could be a very good job if the right person got in there. Good luck to the former coach, hope you find a good situation for yourself.
  12. he is the real deal. Saw him have a nice dunk, and two four point plays all within a couple of minutes in the rhea county tournament. Very good player and could have had a future in football had he stuck it out. Good size and speed at wide receiver. Hated to see him give it up to concentrate on basketball. Good luck this season.
  13. warren county did open it up with four and five wides in campbell's last year. I believe that ran the run and shoot and put up good stats except in the win column. They finished with a 2-9 record. Good stats and fun for the fans, but still no wins. They were also in a tougher region then.
  14. Thoughts and prayers from Soddy Daisy High

    Boyd/Ezell

I feel that Boyd Buchanan will come out on top of this one 17-13. I don't think it will be as high scoring as people think. You have to remember, BBS is coming off of 14 quarters of shout out ball. This is extremely impressive. Great job BBS defense. Talking about too predictable, Ezell is very predictable in what they do offensively. Good luck BBS!!
  23. If the umpires felt it was such a distraction, then they would have done something about it. That is part of their job. Yes, softball and baseball depends on the concentration of players. It much more mental than physical. If you feel that it was a distraction to your players, could it have been a distraction to the Boyd players? I don't hear them complaining. This is not golf, but yet a very exciting sport, so let's make it exciting. It is hard enough to get kids to play sports today because "it is not fun" for them. As far as I know nothing about the game. Hard to believe then I was a part of two state championship teams in the past as a player, as well as coached in the state tournament. I know the game and sports in general. We need to do things to help kids enjoy playing sports, and this is part of it. Once again, why complain to Ronnie Carter or the Southern Standard? If you have a problem, go to the source!! Those are not the source. Grundy County is a very respectable school as well as athletic programs. I hope this will not harm the relationship of them and Boyd Christian. Good luck the rest of the season.
  24. Responding to the longwinded, whiney comments about the announcer for Boyd Christian.... First of all, you people really need to get a life if you have nothing better to do than to find something to complain about over a silly game of softball. Maybe the problem is losing to perhaps the newest, and smallest Single A school in the entire state of Tennessee participating in TSSAA. In fact, if the score was 11-2, and that was just the second win for BCS this year, I doubt the announcer had much to do with coaching decisions that could have been different. I have personally been to several of Boyd Christian's softball and basketball games and while the announcer is animated, he is fair and complimentary to all involved. He actually makes the competition seem a little fun. What harm does it cause for teenagers to actually ENJOY playing a game, especially when a DISTRICT, REGION, or STATE Title is NOT on the line??? What are we teaching our children if a ballgame is such a life and death situation. If the coach had such a problem, why did he not make it aware to the opposing coach, game administrator, or to the umpires? They are in fact a Chrisitan school and I am sure would be happy to take another's feelings in perspective. What kind of attitude is "we will sure return the favor next year.." WHAT IS THAT??? Are you people adults or vicariously living through your children??? Lighten up and have a sense of humor. What good does it do our world to have people badmouthing others when the Bible teaches us to go directly to the source? If you have a problem, go to the person or those involved and work it out. Do not be a baby and cry to anyone who will listen and hopefully back you up.
