Of the three agencies here in Knoxville, UTPD, KPD, and Knox Co. Sherrif, only KPD has tasers. Before they can carry them, each one of them must get hit by one before they are allowed to use them on the streets to make sure they know what they know what they are doing to criminals/victims when they are shot. Wonder if other places have this criteria as well?

Tennessee Volunteer Staff Assessment
Solomon replied to I Love HS Football's topic in Tennessee Volunteers
Here's something I have noticed this year - UT has a very old coaching staff all things considered. I believe there are only 3 assistants under age 50. -
Not sure what to make of Detroit yet. 2-0, but not sure how good they are. I might look at the Steelers this week. San Fran has to make the three time zone trip, and Steelers are playing well right now.

Tennessee Volunteer Staff Assessment

Personally, if it does happen, Schiano would be my first choice. The guy can recruit nationally and has great ties into some of the Florida powerhouses. If he can win at Rutgers, he can win anywhere. Someone at Tennessee has to be a great recruiter. I am leary of any of the smaller Florida school coaches because recruiting there is so easy. I want no part of Rich Rodriguez. Good grief, people think we have trouble makers now........ -
He said he would call back. Don't worry, there will be another chance. /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

Fair enough. Interesting stat - The total cost to buy out the UT football coaching staff? $7 million. Seems like a lot. Not so fast my friend. The cost to by out Tommy Tuberville himself? $7 million. And now for the "You've Got to Be Kidding Me" moment of my Sunday - Unfortunately, I had to work yesterday (and miss Colts/Titans...grr). About 2:30 I get a phone call on the cell. I look at the number and realize quickly the prefix is a UT administration number. I answer the call. On the other end was a guy from the athletic department wanting to know if I was interested in upping my donation to the athletic department for the capital campaign. I think my mouth dropped open, and instead of saying what I wanted to, I just told him I was really busy and didn't have time to talk.

Coach, for those of us new to the area, would you tell us why you are such a legacy that rivals GQ here in Blount Co? And others, please feel free to give other details on this biography as well.

Interesting and funny how when Bush proposed the similar idea with his SS package, she was completely and totally against it. -
As John Clayton said on ESPN radio yesterday, "Cincinatti should have to revoke their NFL membership and play in the CFL for losing to the Browns."

I just want to know what you guys put in Arkansas' water in the second half to make sure McFaddon would start cramping late in the game. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> He doesn's sit, and the Hogs win because he was not being stopped. Gotta give it to them, first 35 minutes and the last 2, the Tide looked like they were on their way back though.

As bad as Tennessee has looked, I'm pretty sure your Irish couldn't score on them either.

Sounds like your coach knows what will help him and his players improve in the long run.

Well, at the end of the game, I'm not worried about eating my words. People, that is the class of the SEC. We just saw how far ahead of the Vols they are. Scarier - I am not sure if they they aren't the second best team in the conference. I'm not a Fulmer-hater. I'm not his biggest fan, but I am not a hater. But people, what more evidence do you need? From 93-04, he had us at the top of the SEC or near there competing for SEC titles, national titles, all of it. You can't argue. But look at the previous 2+ years. Yes, there was 9 wins last year. But look who they were against. Look at what happened against top-tier teams. O-fer. In every shape, form, or fashion, the UT football programs puts itself forward as championship calliber, but what I have witnessed thusfar is far from it. Look at the rest of the season. We can't beat UGA in Neyland to save our lives, Saban is quickly putting it togethet in T-town (currently 21-0 lead on Arknansas as a I type), and say what you want, the ol' ball coach has SC rising quickly. The gap is not shrinking either. Make whatever excuses you want for today, the gap is getting bigger and bigger by the week. Does Tennessee want to be a championship calliber team or not?

Well folks, after 1 half of football, it's got to be obvious even to the biggest Fulmer fan - We are no longer an SEC elite team. Maybe in 2 hours I eat my words, but I doubt it. The question is - do we want to be a Texas Tech who can beat the little guys left and right but can't beat the big boys anymore, or...... Do we want to be a top-flight SEC team?

All right, when punks and holigans are referenced in the first 10 posts, this is going nowhere in a hurry.

Ah, if students are bothered by one girl with green hair, just wait until college!!!!! Personally, I think high schools should ban hot girls. Looking at them is what always distracted me.

All right, someone explain the legacy of Flickert to those of us who don't know.

You don't have to know about Cincy. The Browns are horrid.

Well stars, No son yet. However, I am still drinking that magic elixir they give you when you move down here. They said drink it for 6 months from the day you move in and it's gauarteed that you son will be a football player. Other than that, only hope I am holding onto is that I found out last Thanksgiving that I'm about 23rd cousins with Douglas, so I'm hoping maybe that just that last little bit of athletic ability somehow seeps it's way down my branch of the tree and that elixir can take care of the rest.

Well, is there is a movie, there are some key parts we need to cast! Who will be playing the role of Rebelron? FBE? Starsnbars? I don't know who plays a more important roles other than GQ in the Maryville story! The webmaster, wisdom, and the recruiter/garbageman. Will it be shot on site? If so, I gladly would volunteer my house to be the scene of when Starsnbars is going around picking up garbage. Who'll play Rankin is the almost obligatory rivalry game?

Looking at it based on paper, I would say Florida by two touchdowns, especially since it is in The Swamp. Still not impressed with the defense. I expect to see some 3-4 or another wrinkle from Chavis Saturday. Don't know if it will work or not. If you can get a little bit of pressure on Tebow, he will rush it, throw it too hard on short routes, etc. I don't care how much talent they have, having Caldwell out will hurt Florida some. D-line must step up to free the linebackers to go after the option game. Foster needs to have 100+ yards rushing, and the ground game needs to eat up the clock. Cut says he's going back to being simple on third and short situations. (And as bad as they played on defense, a couple of short yardage conversions where we got to cute hurt just as much against Cal.) My biggest worry is still special teams. Meyer spends a lot of time on them, and no doubt will have something as a surprise Saturday to try to catch the Vols off guard. I hope they are ready for it. This kind of has one of those "us against the world games" that Fulmer's teams typically do well in. I just don't know if this is one of them. I hope I am wrong!

Kind of surprised no one has brought this up yet. This is a pretty big deal, and if Goddell is going to continue to crack down on stuff that makes the league look bad, I don't know how he can come down on this lightly. Personally, I think any of three parts of this should be levied, probably 2 of the 3. 1) Patriots must forfeit Sunday's win against the Jets. (This seems almost too obvious to me and no one has even mentioned it. Is there a rule against this?) 2) Belicheck is suspended for at least half the season, if not the remainder. No practice during the week, communicator with the team, gameday, etc. 3) Dock them their first and second round draft picks next year and/or shrink their cap number. Distribute it to other teams proportionately to keep the NFLPA happy. Any other thoughts?

Senator Craig given award by NRA

Here's another "real life one" for you. I'm out at one of our major clients once every quarter or so. Last time we were out here, one of the guys we work with was filling us in on the floor gossip of one of the ladies here having an affair with one of he co-workers. I won't go into detail, but it was one big joke. Well, not so much this time. As soon as the guy met me at the elvator this morning, he updated me on the situation as so I would know what was going on. From the last time I was out here until this time, the husband had found out what was going on and they were separated. Friday night a bunch of them had gone out after work. At some point, the husband called her and told her he was going to kill himself. I guess she shrugged it off. Well, she came to work Monday morning and got a phone call from someone wanting to know what was going on with her husband. She didn't have a clue what was going on. Come to find out, he had locked himself in the garage and ran the car until he killed himself Sunday afternoon. Bad situation you may think. But, the real loser? Try the couple's 8 year old little girl. Two selfish people, two selfish actions, and the child will suffer the worst. Take it how you want it.
