  1. Chris, Watch the Hoop kid from Brentwood. He is a bad influence in the room and a slacker!
  2. Memphis, Arlington, you're right all the same....
  3. I vote for Ben Woodall and the boys from Williamson County! Go Bruins!
  4. Dude - you West TN boys obviously do not know how to do geography. Independence, Franklin, Brentwood are all from Williamson County not NASHVILLE and IMHO you are going to be playing Willamson County teams starting with Independence, than Franklin, and hopefully Brentwood. You might want to also note that Williamson County has had a team in the State finals how many of the past years? Read it: 6 of 7 with all 3 of your potential opponents being state finalists or state champions. No Nashville teams have been there and only 1 West TN team: Germantown. So you are correct. You will get a chance to prove how good you are against the some of the best. Buckle up your chin straps and bring it on!!!!! Go Bruins!!
  5. If Arlington is any good, they'll know it in this pod. Indy is a solid football team from probably one of the 2 or 3 toughest regions in the state. If they beat Indy, they have to play the winner of Oakland/Franklin(this game has the makings of being a war - hope Franklin's field is recovered from Friday night). If they win that, a probable matchup with either Brentwood or Hunters Lane. Sounds like Murderer's row to me. GO BRUINS!
  6. Someone should still shoot that dog. PBD, how is Josh and where is he?
  7. Who is being recruited and has anybody committed?
  8. First of all, 1. Congrats to Franklin on another fine season 2. Congrats to the Bruins for surviving murderer's row so far. 3. Should be an awesome pre-game tailgate 4. Be rest assured the Bruins will be ready to go as I know the Franklin boys will be 5. Here's to a great football game with no injuries Go Bruins!
  9. Hunted 4 days at an outfitter in Christian County - 2 days muzzeloader - 2 days archery - 6 guys - not one person took a shot or fired an arrow. Saw one 130" buck in the distance. I should never go hunting during high school football season.
  10. First the blaze band is welcome anytime. We thought about hiring them last year for the playoffs when our "competition band" blew us off. Second, I think this will be an old fashioned smash mouth close ball game. May noone get hurt and the best team win. Go Bruins! P.S. Typed while sitting in a tree stand in ky
  11. If Franklin can contain Heckman - and that is a very formidable IF - they should win a close one. Good luck to both teams - should be a heck of a game!
  12. Well - its good to be back(didn't know i had gone anywhere!) and I hope Smiley has a good season. Alas but a large part of Smiley's heart has been coopted by the dreaded evil sport - football . He still likes to wrestle but he really loves football. I think you're predictions are pretty good but as we all know, predictions are like certain bodily orifices: everyone has one . I think the region champion will come down to a couple of things: 1. Who stays healthy 2. The unsung kids not on your list who rise to the occasion. Indy is still a formidable team but not as deep as past years. A few injuries there or too a couple at Ravenwood or at Brentwood and its a wide open game. I don't see a truly dominant team this year. 3. In my humble personal opinion, I think EVERYONE runs from Cameron this year and I think Cameron beats everyone this year for a very good reason. Stop me at a match some time and I'll tell you . 4 I am very interested in what Overton and Ravenwood look like this year as they had so many young kids last year and they wrestled hard. GO BRUINS!
  13. O.K. - Lets get started with first new alignment meeting of the Bruins & the Burros.
  14. Well, Since I am kind of biased towards the Bruins, I think I will wade in with a few thoughts: 1. I don't think it really matters what weight Cameron decides to wrestler, 189, 215, or Heavyweight. Everyone's gonna run. Should be some interesting news about where he going to commit out soon. Stay tuned. 2. As his daddy, I hope Chris Hoop does wrestle 160 and keeps getting bigger so he doesn't get killed during football. 3. Ain't it cool that during the month of February, none of us have to leave the mid-state area to compete??? Can't wait to see the Duals and Individuals at the Ag Center. 4. Ain't it cool that we've got all of this new competition and that the new Region 6 tournament is going to be the size that a region tournament should be? 5. Blake Thomas is going to also be a beast wherever he wrestles! 6. All of you new schools, welcome to Region 6!
  15. Rebels all over the Raptors like stink on poop! Book it!
  16. Menu from the Brentwood Bruin Tailgate 1. Smoked Ribs 2. Scrumptious Peanut Bars 3. A really big pot of Strong High Test Coffee! Go Bruins - Great Win. Thanks for the hospitality Gallatin!
  17. I agree, I think they are playing good ball but not as good as I know they can. We have to step it up this week Brentwood is a good program. Wilco has had our number over the past few years maybe we can put an end to that friday night.. GO GREEN WAVE!!! First, Lets talk about the important things: 1. Where should the Bruin Nation set up the tailgate? and..... whats on the menu for this week? 2. It was nice to see our offense score in the 1st quarter for the 1st time this year! 3. It will be nice to go to an away/out of district game in a county other than Rutherford! Go Bruins!
  18. The Menu from the Bruin 12th man club Tailgate: Venison Summer Sausage Vension Salami Shrimp Chorizo Soup Sausage Cheese Grits Burritos The Menu from the Game: A whole bunch of Bruin Whup Arse... Final Score 35-7 Brentwood! Go Bruins!
  19. Solid win tonight for Oakland. Not neccessarily an A+ game, but the running game moved the ball well when needed to and on defense, we forced Brentwood to become one-dimensional. On offense, I think we did a great job of getting the ball to our playmakers and giving them a chance to do something with it. It was nice to see guys like Jarrod Hargis and Buddy Mitchell getting the ball a fair bit, something I think that will only serve to make this offense better in the long run. Eventually, I would like to see Oakland take more shots down the field, use Schaller a little bit more and take advantage of his athleticism, he is a tough matchup for any corner to take on. Also did well to limit T's carries, as Zach Barnes has really stepped up these last 3 games. Ideally, Id like to see Khalil Newman take charge as well and give Oakland the 3-headed monster that served them so well last season. Defense, what can I say? You continue to deliver. Yeah, they didnt get the shut-out, but completely shutdown Brentwood's running game, save for Coffey's 1 carry right before halftime. Brentwood has a solid qb when he goes through his progressions, but he tends to lock onto his receivers too much, which was a killer for the Bruins when Oakland went up 14-0. The goal is to get better every week, a feel like Oakland is doing that, bring on the Warriors. BTW Bruin fans, ive never been against noisemakers, but you guys went a little overkill in that regard.......... BTW LOD,#8 is Darius McAdoo, Timmy's cousin I believe. To all of the Oakland brethren: 1. Your hospitality was excellent 2. I tried one of the fabled Oakland hot dogs. They lived up to the hype. 3. The Patriots lived up to their hype. 4. I hope we get to play you again this year! 5. If all you have to complain about is our noisemakers, than you don't have many problems Good luck on the rest of your season Go Bruins!
  20. O.K. - all you Oakland fans - I've read 3 pages of your comments dissing the Bruins. Quite frankly, I can't blame you - we're as befuddled about what kind of team we have as everyone else. We obviously will have to play 4 quarters this week to have a a chance to win. BUT..... Please enlighten our culinary interest and let us know what the attraction to an Oakland hot dog is. The Bruin faithfull led by our 12th man club are known for our extroidinary tailgates(for example: andouille sausage burgers with remoulade sauce, smoked venison summer sausage, etc...) so it willl take alot for us to hold room for a dawg!!! All kidding aside - we're looking forward to coming to Rutherford County(Again.....) and watching 2 good teams and 2 great coaches mix it up! Go Bruins!
  21. Hey Indy fans - you guys need to be proud of your team and you've got a heck(no punt intended) of a qb in heckman. Da Bruins find away to pull out another one. Hopefully we can get everyone healthy and back from sickness and injury! GO BRUINS!
  22. That's retarded - Brentwood is up 1 score running between the tackles. Besides, the Lavergne line was so tired, Coffee's dad Otis could have run through that hole. As in most football games, I think this one will be decided on the line of scrimmage. Should be a great game. You Smyrna folks come ready to tailgate.
  23. congrats to coach blair for all of his hard work. I think everyone will like the arena, the parking, and the fact you CAN bring food in. The Franklin/Cool Springs area has tons of restaurants , hotels, and bars(where bcb can have fun). we'll be good hosts!
  24. O.K. its the beginnning of turkey season and I'm not getting enough sleep. So: 1. Please use the replace button and put "stunk" where "stunk was. 2. How about: "you would be hard pressed to find a classier kid" sorry but i'm glad people do read!
  25. maybe the Memphis side of the state can help but we heard that he got a concussion in the match he loss and wrestled the rest of the tournament with it. Nick did not look 100% the rest of the tournament but he stunk it up. Tough kid! After going to the Cornell "after" party, meeting Jordan, and listening to his comments to the Cornell fans - I'd like to see a classier kid.
