I don't know why my post was erased but oh well. We all know how good those schools are. 7AA does play them every year you know. I think this years LA team has a chance of competing with anyone in that district. After all, they put their pants on one leg at a time like everyone else.

I agree with tennisguy. There are way too many great female athletes from the Upper Cumberland area. It is obvious look at the state final results. Upperman, LA, and especially Jackson have been dominant. Tracy City??? Thought who stunk??? Overton County??? Allons beat Tracy City by 28 points in Murfreesboro and it could of been a lot worse if they wouldn't have played scrubs. That is too funny. The fact is Overton County Schools represented well. Allons won A boys and girls. Rickman won AAA boys and girls were runner-up. Livingston girls made it to semi's in AAAA. And they stink??? Rickman girls won TNT in 2001 and 2003. Rickman boys were runner-up last year. Allons boys won James C. Haile and TNT last year and this year. Allons girls were also runner-up last year. As a matter of fact, the upper cumberland area represented so well. A - Allons boys champs A - Allons girls champs AA - Pickett County girls (don't know if they won, but played in championship.) AAA - Rickman boys champs AAA - Rickman girls runner-up AAAA - Livingston and Algood one their first games atleast. AAAAA - Avery Trace won their first game atleast. yuckamuck your statements are hilarious.

I don't know where you are from, but I see you post on multiple sites. I will bet you $500 to your donut that Jackson County doesn't win region. Yes LA does have the worst team they have ever had in a while, and yes beating York will definitely be a challenge, but I think they will. No one is a shoe-in this year like previous ones.

IF I were a coach, I don't think I could go. It is like Woodbury is in the middle of nowhere. lol. Civilization would seem so far away.

I agree with you a lot of schools just do not have the kids coming out to play. I think it would be really a hard job to get the kids out at Cannon County. Think about it. There is just so much that one coach could do. I think there would need to be more changes than head coach to get the kids out. Like, if they let the head coach weed out his staff and add who he wanted. Definitely need to have a great booster club. Businesses and people in town to really get excited about football. But, when it all boils down, a head coach would need to hit the kids at an earlier age in grade school. Need to have a solid feeder program. That job would be an attractive job for a coach who wanted to build something from ground up. But, they are few and far between. Good Luck Cannon on finding coach. Hope you all get a good one.

Don't forget about the smaller Middle Tennessee Schools! What about Livingston Academy vs. York Institute, or better yet, Smith County vs. Gordonsville. Those two schools are 2A and 1A and I bet draw 7000 or better. Not to mention they have played each other first game of the season for like 75 years or something. Talking about hating the other school, both of those matchups do. LA doesn't really like Cookeville either thunder.

Good point wildcat 66! Cates is so valuable to LA's success and if you take him off the team, they do not win district. But, I think it is all on how you define MVP. If it is defined as the most valuable to his team, I think it would be a no brainer. Gilliam has to repeat! You take him off UHS and they have NOTHING. Cates is valuable, but I don't think as valuable as Gilliam. I think character, attitude, and sportsmanship are in the equation as well, so that rules out Ledbetter in my opinion. How does this look? Yeah, I have heard a lot about the "mule" as you said he was called. I have heard that he appears to be a gentleman. I have also heard that he looks like a good football player. I am sure you will miss him, but I can assure you that the owl faithful are glad to welcome. Can't wait for football, who likes basketball?

I agree! Over the course of this thread, you have hated against LA pretty bad. I am not going to rub in your predictions, but they were far from true. No 20 point victories by Upperman over LA.

Muffin, here's the deal. A coach, who you may know, coaches at an elementary school in overton county (hogeye). He was fired after winning 21 out of 25 ballgames as their coach. The reason is unknown unless it is because he let the words bull sh*t slip after the game to an official who made a horrible no call to knock his team out of state tournament play @ MTCS. For some reason two or three days after being fired, the prinipal of school calls him back to his office to tell him that the superintendent (who gave the orders to fire him) said if you have learned your lesson, you can come back as the ASSISTANT coach. Because he loves the school and his players, and as big of a slap in the face as it was, he took the offer and is now playing for the state championship in Springfield next weekend. It just kills me, because it didn't matter if he won every game this season and won 20 different state championships, and handled himself perfectly, he would not be the head coach at that school next year. He didn't have the politics. Anyone reading this from hogeye land just watch what happens.

Clarkrange[/url] was kept in this game by the short but wide ref. In the 4th quarter, until the Buffaloes started fouling on purpose, it was about 15 fouls on PC to 4 on Clarkrange. These guys just weren't any good. At one point a Buffalo player slid out of bounds with the ball and they were about to give the ball back to him. Clarkrange got a couple of bad calls too, but newver got hammered the way Pickett did. Quit whinning! You won the game. For some people that just isn't enough. You have to pick apart every little thing. You are having a good season, but remember, no one owes Pickett County anything.
