  1. To WildChild's point from 1999 to 2004 they were in the 4A classification where they really stood little chance of competing given their schedule. Things got a little less difficult from 2005 to 2008 in which they made one playoff appearance making it to the second round before losing to David Lipscomb. But given reclassification since 2009 there is no legitimate excuse for being so non competitive given the other schools on their schedule.
  2. Scharch is a joke. This is the same thing that happened when he was at Eagleville. He believes that because he coached at Riverdale with Gary Rankin that gives him credibilty as a coach. Yes, he was the FRESHMAN coach at Riverdale when they won a state title, let's make a place for him in CANTON! Ask Coach Rankin how good of a coach Scharch is and his reply will be WHO? Anyone who knows anything about high school football in this area knew/knows what the end result will/would be. Unfortunately for Spring Hill, other administrators know better which is why he has gotten so little interest from the more than half dozen other jobs he has applied for since being a Spring Hill or else this problem would have taken care of itself. I hate to be so negative in this regard but enough is enough! I would gladly come to his defense if he were a person of integrity and high moral standard who truly cared about the kids that he has been intrusted with leading, but once again this is not the case. There are better choices out there. Unsure if they would even consider if offered the opportunity. With the current condition of the program who could blame them? It will take someone with true passion for the school and/or kids to turn the ship right anythime soon.
  3. 66in74 I believe you are correct in your reasoning. There has been a lot of turnover in both administration and coaching staff since then, unfortunately it seems to be for the worse each time. Granted the talent is not of the level that it was in the 80's and 90's but the competition is not either. I'm not expecting gold balls, but I do expect to be competitive against the likes of Page, Hickman Co, Lewis Co, and for goodness sake Mt. Pleasant! I believe that Coach Mizer (now at Columbia Academy) was an excellent coach and given time would have given us all what we are looking for. Coach McKnight was a solid coach and you could always ensure the kids would play hard and be doing right. Unfortunately I cannot find much good to say about the current coach.
  4. Hate to do it but must agree wildchild. Coach Scharsch and staff are 16-28 since his arrival and that is with the benefit of reclassification and playing a MUCH easier schedule than they have in the past. One can tolerate losing if things are being done the RIGHT way, however this is not the case. Spring Hill deserves better.
  5. Did both teams just give their defenses the night off???
  6. Unfortunately things look bleak for the Raiders this year. It isn't going to matter who the QB is or what defense or offense the run, none of those things work without linemen and that is something they just don't have. There are some very hardworking boys on this team and some solid skill position players but they lack the athletes to make up for their lack of talent along the line. I hope I am wrong but I am afraid that the Mongomery Central game at home is the Raider's best chance for a W this season. Oh and by the way I believe the defense was a 3-3 not a 3-4.
  7. Playoff prediction: Lipscomb Giles Co. Spring Hill Cheatham/CreekWood winner
  8. It was a good game, it could have gone either way, but I don't think either team brought there A game tonight...especially Spring Hill since I have seen them play more I know they can play better than they showed tonight and I believe the same to be true for Giles Co.
  9. I've seen Giles Co play in person, but the question is have you seen Spring Hill play in person?
  10. I too agree with montague1 on this week's winners...but I still think this region is up in the air!
  11. Okay so now that we are into the season what are the verdicts on the finishing order for this region?
  12. You may be right...Spring Hill is kinda soft, that haven't proved they can smack anybody in the mouth and from what i hear they can't play four quarters of football.
  13. This one could be a classic. It will come down to which defense can stop the other teams offense. Look for a lot of rushing yards for both teams as they both like to run the ball in two totally opposite ways. This game could determine a playoff spot.
  14. I agree with NODOUBT, looking at them Marshall County looks like a very talented team, speed, size, and strength...and then the whistle blows and you don't get anything close to what you thought you would see. This won't be the tigers only loss this season, you can count on that.
  15. Central's defense will not be able to stop anyone this week... look for Smyrna to score at will... Smyrna 49 Columbia 13
  16. I think this one could go either way...it depends on which team executed and does the little things right... Spring Hill by 3
  17. I was glad I got to see this one! This was one of the best games I have ever seen on any level. Rivals and double overtime, it just doesn't get much better than that. I believe these two teams are headed in opposite directions, for Spring Hill things look bright, Columbia must improve if they are to be competitive in their region.
  18. I agree, Central wins...just too much speed for Spring Hill.
  19. wow this must be one heck of a region if a team pick to finish second or third in the region and a team picked to finish last or next to last are expecting a close and exciting game!what are the keys for each team if the hope to win?
