Actually they refused to play in the playoffs if Norris was in them along with Laf, Oniduh, & Soldiers. So they cancelled the playoffs. Then they held their own championship game with Oniduh. The reason why they called them no contest was so Norris could schedule games in their place.

There's news in middle school football. There will be no playoffs for the conference containing Lafollette, Jacksboro, Norris, Horace Maynard, Clinton, Oneida, and Soldiers Memorial. All the teams except Clinton and Horace Maynard refuse to play Norris anymore this year. The CC schools tried to get TMSAA involved and it didn't pan out, so they just decided to take their ball and cancel the playoffs.

Before the season the blame game was going on towards Oak Ridge and AC. The fact is Clinton dropped the ball. They should of never submitted the letter from LC before they had everything necessary written on it. Once the TSSAA rules on something they are not going to overturn it.

Actually the job was given to Tony Lambert then after spring ball he decided to go back to Oneida/Scott. Davey and Josh were both considered for the job but Davey had the better track record at the time. Larry, Elwood Pennington, and Josh then started up the Lake City Middle Team. Josh was there for 2 years before going to Clinton High. I feel the situations have worked out well for both parties.

The young man was living with foster parents, his mom has stepped up and done what was necessary to get custody of her son back. She moved to Clinton. The only thing that was missing was the statement in the letter that he didn't leave for disciplinary issues. The Clinton AD should of caught this before they submitted anything, but he doesn't need to be crucified for missing it either, because all of the crap an AD has to do for eligibility, scheduling, and other compliance bs it would be easy to overlook something so small. Lenoir City did the same thing when Camion Patrick left for West, they didn't include everything that was needed in the letter, then refused to write an appropriate one. I hope the kid gets to play his senior year. I worry that if you take this kid away from football then he might lose the drive to graduate from high school. When is the TSSAA going to realize that its about the kids, not the coaches, parents, or TSSAA's wallet. It will be interesting if anything materializes with the transfer of Middleton to Oak Ridge. He had more publicly known behavior issues then Woods, yet his past school doesn't seem to want to crucify him.

Sounds very similar to the letter they wrote for Camion Patrick going to West, of course it ended up not mattering because he didn't get his credit recovery taken care of. Hopefully the kid gets an opportunity to play, but it really remains in Lenoir Cities AD and the TSSAA hands now. I hope LC isn't doing this on purpose, because they were the ones responsible for bringing in a specific coach that would bring in these talents, and a lot of us know how that turned out for them.

Caleb Slover went to school and played in Lake City his whole life. Caleb was a good high school quarterback, but became an excellent qb for Tusculum in College.

I heard that J Woods is already looking to transfer. Evidently a former coach of CHS is using Woods to try and get a coaching job somewhere else. Also, I was told that it would be a miracle if Woods qualified academically to play next year. Has anyone else heard this?

I was told he is no longer part of the JuCo School he was attending. I will not speculate anymore then that.

I agree Barnes will be a tough one to replace. He's the Ed Orgeron of Knox County basketball. I think Lollar at Anderson County is one of the best young coaches in this area. He will make a great head coach one day. Coach Cupples and Tummel at AC are also tremendous. Coach Wallace has himself a great coaching staff.

Rorex is the AC kid from last year. Watching Smith last year I can say he is much more intense and he sets his teammates up extremely well. Rorex was not near the team player that Smith should be. I'm not sure if Smith can shoot the ball as well as Rorex.

AS of right now, i would think Ambrose #18 would be our qb...but i have heard rumors that a qb from Lenoir City is supposed to transfer in. Just have to wait and see on that one. Shannon, Powell, Patrick should all be back if they dont transfer...lol! On defense, the Washington kid at LB will be back as well. Our schedule will have Dobyns-Bennett coming to Clinton and we will have to go to T.C. Roberson, NC. Im sure both of those teams will be better next season. With losing the players we did and looking at what teams like AC and Oak Ridge have coming back, I would think Clinton finishes around 6-4 next season. Now we get to see what our coaching staff is made of, dont we? The QB from LC is Jordan Hall. He is an excellent little quarterback. I remember seeing him play in middle school and he is special. I heard his best sport is basketball, and his mom is a teacher so if she can find a school to teach at in the Clinton Zoning then she can send her son there without sitting out. I can't wait to see the Patrick kid play next year. He is extremely special. I just didn't understand the coaching staff not getting him the ball more in their last game against AC. AC couldn't stop him for the most part, and I feel if used correctly Patrick would of definitely locked in that win.

This is the funniest thing the Birdman has HURD] all night. Talk about eating some crow or should we say cow patties. You talk the talk but obviously you couldn't walk the walk. Clinton was cocky and arrogant, and the COWS kicked you in the mouth. I hate to see Clinton go because some of their posters were the dumbest Ive seen, and now we won't have them to entertain us. Well, hopefully you will fair better in basketball, but unlikely, that program is a joke just like the others at Clinton.

Alcoa will be back up this year. They have an excellent senior PG and at least 3 sophomores that can flat out play. Fill in the rest of the ball players that they have and they will be very good. Stone will be the team to knock off, but Alcoa will be more than capable. Don't count Scott Co out either, they return 3 very good ball players.

Homecoming was all about the benjamins. The Administration at these schools dont care if they play a lesser opponent. They want to bring in the big money, and Anderson Co. obviously did this. Who cares if the 2002 team defense was better then the 1996 team defense. It is probably 2 former players who played for these squads, and frankly nobody gives a big rip now. But start a new thread so you can relive your glory days there. Im glad Oak Ridge brought Anderson back down to earth. Anderson got too far ahead of themselves. They are doing well with the new system, but they are not where they need to be at all. To me they look like a team that will be one and done in the playoffs. Oak Ridge seems to improve every game, I cant wait too see how they fair against Clinton. I think this game will be closer then most Clinton faithful think.
