  1. I agree, but Jonesboro is gonna have to play like they are capable of. And #10 for Jonesboro is gonna have to step it up.
  2. Jonesboro is half interested in playing defense......

    Memphis BB

Outside the Memphis area: District 15-AA is gonna be a WAR. 4 teams (Covington, Fayette-Ware, Bolivar and Ripley) are all capable of winning it.
  4. WOW at those two upsets: Union City beating Dresden and Bradford beating Gleason.
  5. Covington is a very good basketball team, but sometimes they do some things that make you scratch your head..........but I would put #3 for them against any PG in our area. Nobody talks about her, but if we are talking about sleeper Miss Basketball candidates she's near the top.
  6. My 7: Kalynn Howard, Covington Edie Darby, Greenfield Skyler Gill, Hardin County Tess Darby, Greenfield Chloe Moore-McNeil, Greenfield Khyla Wade-Warren, McNairy Macey Lee, TCA *Alexis Callins *Sharneece Currie-Jelks *injured right now
  7. We are about at the midway point of the season where certain players start to stand out, so who are some early candidates for Miss Basketball????
  8. I think Gibson County will benefit from the tough schedule. Westview, Dyersburg, South Side, Greenfield, Arlington, and Covington, not to mention Dresden and Trinity. That's 7 teams that have a chance to make the state tourney. If I'm getting better, and taking quality losses, that's all I can ask for.
  9. 13-Westview/Dyersburg 14-South Side/Scotts Hill
  10. Other than South Gibson.........no one will give them a game. Now, when they go to Missouri for Christmas, there will be tough games
  11. Key for TCA guys: slowing down #3 for TRA and forcing someone else to make plays. He does everything for them literally. Not a good shooter, but will shoot it if left open.
  12. I have TCA by 9, I've seen TRA girls already. They play at a fast pace, and they turn it over a lot. Slowing down #3, #23, and #2 will be key for TCA. If TRA is hitting shots and forcing turnovers, it will be very tight. If TCA keeps the turnovers down, wins the rebounding battle and forces TRA to play in the half-court they win going away.
  13. And Westview looks very beatable right now.........they are really missing Callins.
  14. You could tell Loretto played last night........they looked very sloppy, also Greenfield missed a lot of easy layups. But overall, the game all of us thought it was gonna be. I don't think Loretto did a great job forcing Chloe to go to her right hand, and I don't think Loretto played physical enough, Greenfield won the game IMO in the post. BUT, Karly Weathers IS a high-major division 1 guard, and #10 is a absolute steal for Blue Mountain. They will meet again in March for a gold ball. Count on it.
  15. I agree with the above poster, South Side's style of play will help them stay on track. Also, Chester County isn't as good as I thought they would be and I think Mia coming back won't really matter.........South Side or McNairy takes the district.
  16. Call me crazy, but I'm taking Loretto by 5. I'll be there to witness it just like the rest of you lol and another thing: how does this Greenfield team compare to two teams I thought were really good: the 2015-16 GC team (with Fields, Lannom and White) and also that 14-15 Middleton team (with Perry, Joy, and Jones)
  17. Didn't know that Bolivar was a one-man team..........when Norment got fatigued tonight, they just kinda shut it down, aside from that mini 3rd quarter run when they cut SS's lead to 10. Not gonna go deep in the postseason if they can't get reliable scoring elsewhere.
  18. Honestly if she goes to Kentucky, there may be some kind of role for her. Pass-first point guards with the vision and IQ she has are very rare. Just needs to improve the quickness and athleticism, because SEC ball is another animal than Single A West TN ball
  19. Some really good games this week: South Side at Bolivar Bolivar at Dyer County Madison at South Gibson Olive Branch at Houston
  20. They need to move Loretto-Greenfield to the 7:00 slot. Don't miss your chance Westview to make some serious money. That's gonna have a substate feel to it.
  21. Wish they would move Loretto-Greenfield to the last game Saturday at Westview..........
  22. In other important matters, what is holding up Chloe's recruiting announcement?????
  23. I noticed that as well. Peterson had a few wide open looks and they didn't look her way. Winning is gonna cure a lot of ills, but I wonder privately is there grumbling behind the scenes.
  24. Main thing I saw from last year's game: TCA didn't handle Greenfield's pressure well at all. They coughed it up a lot and that lead to easy Greenfield baskets. For them to have a shot, they have to keep it under 15 turnovers, and they have to win the rebounding battle. But I still say Greenfield by 9-10 points.
