  1. Congrats to Lake County. It stinks that the best game and probably the real championship game had to be played in the first round, but that is the way it goes sometimes.
  2. Great game and congrats to Lake Co.

  9. Lake leads 46-42 at start of 4th
  10. 41-41 with 2 mins left in 3rd
  11. CSAS leads 37-36 with 5 left in the 3rd
  12. CSAS leading 31-30 at half. Very good game so far. Lake Co has actually led for most of the game, or at least the 2nd Q.
  13. I know nothing about lake county but they are going to have to be fast to run with Csas. I was able to watch Csas outrun Howard who is in AA State. They play multiple styles of offense and defense. One minute they press and run and the next they slow it down. Like I said though I know nothing about lake county though. Should be a great game.
  14. Congrats to CSAS on the victory and congrats to FCS on a great season and a strong showing of fan support at the game tonight. CSAS, I think, is ranked #1 on Coach T's rankings, but I think Clarksville Academy is #1 in the State based on the writer's poll which is the one that matters.
  15. IThere were some great teams back in the 90's in Chattanooga. You are right about those 91 and 92 teams at CSAS. They were pretty loaded. Of course Brainerd and Howard were always incredible. Watching CJ Black vs Moses Lindsey was a sight to see. And, you are right about CSAS being selective in the early years. When the school first opened they were able to choose their students although the selection had nothing to do with athletics. Starting in the mid-90's the school system put a stop to that process and set it up as first come first serve. There is an advantage though in that being a magnet school, you can come from all over the county as long as you are in early enough. I credit CSAS success to the program that Dragoo has in place. I don't think he gets enough credit for what he has done there.
  16. Thanks for the numbers Wardawg. They are very helpful. It looks like both sides is pretty even. On a side note, CSAS is a public school. The others are private. CSAS does get confused many times with other private schools in the area.
  17. Let's be honest. I doubt that any of us have seen all of the teams that are going to be in the State Tournament. I'm a CSAS fan and think they have as good of a chance as anybody, but I know almost nothing about the west TN teams. I know about Clarksville because I saw them play in the tournament last year and they are obviously good because of who they returned. I know that CSAS played them fairly close and returned everyone as well. But, ultimately none of us can fairly state on who the best team is. That said, every year fans from West TN automatically think their teams are going to run through the tournament and that is usually the case except in Single A. Chattanooga has always represented the State very well, with Temple, Grace and Arts. Even still, I ultimately have no idea how good these other teams are going to be.
  18. Not sure of the exact score, as I was not there, but I heard CSAS won by 21 points tonight. Regarding their weaknesses, they don't have a lot of size. They play faster than almost anyone else will in Single A. Because of that, they control the tempo and therefore the game. The size issue doesn't affect them much as they have played with and beaten teams with much more size than them. Plus, most Single A teams don't have much size either.
  19. This CSAS and recruiting business is old and completely unfounded. You want to go to CSAS you get in line like everyone else, athlete or not. There have been good athletes on that waiting list that never got in. CJ Black is one of them.
  20. So I guess we have a better picture of who is best in Chatt now that the Best of Preps is over. Red Bank won 3 tough games to win the tourney. I hate it for Ooltewah's draw because they could have gone further had they not drawn RB first. McCallie is very good losing two OT games to RB and CSAS. Tyner is obviously good as well. All that said, I think there are some really good teams in Chatt. Hopefully all of these teams can do well and get to the state tournament.
  21. We will definitely know by next week who is the best in Chattanooga. Howard isn't in this tourney because they are upset they didn't get to host it, but we should still have an idea on who is the best. Ooltewah is legit and definitely in the conversation. But the best team next week might not be a Chatt team at all. Everything I am hearing about Dade County sounds like they could win it all. They score a lot of points. T-Mac, your excuses are old. CSAS overwhelmed Howard athletically. I agree that Howard is down, but accept it as what it is and stop making excuses. We're all supposed to believe that these Howard players just picked up a basketball for the first time in July. I get that.
  22. That's great. I heard that this was the first time CSAS has ever beaten Brainerd. Is that true? I know they don't play often at all, and I can't remember the last time they played, but it's a huge accomplishment either way.
  23. The thing that surprised me was just how much CSAS out-athleted Howard. Howard had a definite size advantage and CSAS just swarmed them defensively. I don't think Howard knew how to respond at times. But I agree that it will be an even tougher game at Howard.
  24. Yeah, Grace has the clear edge on guard play while CA has the clear edge inside. It will be an interesting game. CSAS got to the finals 3 years ago by running that press. They got beat several times with it against CA today. Grace, however, will play a totally different style so I'm not sure what to expect. Hopefully Grace can bring one gold ball back to Chatt.
  25. same can be said for CSAS. They play no seniors. Free throws obviously hurt them, but I don't think youth is a fair excuse.
