Blackman's biggest play maker is their secondary, couldn't cover a wet newspaper!

Blackman is a very inexperienced football team. If they can't somehow make plays on defense, they will be in for not only a long night, but a long year as well. As for Riverdale, they still appear to be searching for some leadership.

I was making a funny! I would imagine the old playoff system had something to do with being able to get enough in-state games to get to 10 it left coaches grabbing at whoever would show up. Did I ever tell you about the year we got to drive to Chattanooga three time in one season. Yeah, that was awesome!

Blackman will need to tackle better, defend the pass way better and find some scoring from somewhere. A couple of timely turnovers would help get some ole mo! If those happen they can get a much need W plus some confidence for what's ahead.

I agree MTF. As for Blackman once Shad was gone It didn't matter who got the job they were going to facing a tremendous uphill battle. I watched the huddle on Clay and bottom line they were simply good. The QB to me was the x-factor and I don't think Blackman will face anyone else this year that is that polished. Clay had set a state record last year for points scored in a season and I think after what I saw that record may be in jeopardy. They reminded me of Siegal from a few years back. As for Oakland I thought they would a have a shot because of the athleticism and Hoover a graduated 15 starters from last years team. I'd say both teams players and coaches have some adjusting to do. I agree both are going to be OK, not great but OK. Only time will tell.

If Blackman's secondary play doesn't improve quickly, it could be a long afternoon.

The winner for me has to be Coach Mac from Oakland, now at Bartlett. I heard him curse his on team out during a game. Problem was it was the Freshman team and he didn't get there until the middle of the fourth quarter. SMH!
