Hey guys out of curiosity what year is Polk's Fullback Griswold in? I am just curious. I live to far away now to keep a close watch on the program.

You clearly dont know Coach D's Style of play. That is how he has built an exceptional football program that was a powerhouse at one point in time. That being said. I will be suprised if Polk wins this one after the way Sequoyah ran over Tellico. Is Tellico just that bad? Or is Sequoyah actually a good football team? Either way Polk is probably still at least a year away from being a good football team again and they will have to fight for everything win they get this year. However, Polk's Griswold looked very impressive last Friday and the last time Polk was good they pretty much road one really good player in Zack Miller to several district titles. Not taking anything away from the other players on those old teams, but if not for Miller they wouldnt have been near as good as they were. Griswold could be such a player from what I saw last Friday. Only time will tell.

I believe Signal Mountain takes this. I watched them play SP this year, and them boys got talent. Ima gonna say Signal even takes state this year that is just me tho. Signal by 14

I think Basin can do the one thing they haven't done in a loooonnnnggg time, and that is advance further in the playoffs then their cross town rivals Polk Co. Copper Basin 21 Coalfield 14

Reposting Alcoa wins big. CAK got lucky last week when they beat my boys, and Polk hand delivered a defensive scheme that with the right personnel will shut down CAK all night. Alcoa had the one thing we didn't. Alcoa 56 CAK 21

Talk that trash all you want but I do not believe you were at the Polk CAK game. Polk deserved the game, and they got hosed by a few poor calls.

First of all great game out of both teams. Polk came up a little short at the end in my opinion due to a couple of poor calls from the refs. In the end this game was decided on a run play from CAK which I thought was rather odd. Polk did everything they could to win, but came up a bit short. I do not know what was up with the refs though. CAK did receive more penalties, but Polk's came at critical moments, and two of which I did not agree with at all. The holding when we scored was ridiculous, and the late hit out of bounds was even more ridiculous. However, CAK did what they had to win. I think the refs were not prepared to officiate such a passing attack out of CAK there were two blatant no catches that were ruled a catch. One of which didn't matter ( the ball that hit the ground right before half and was scooped up by the receiver and ruled a catch), and the second of which that hurt Polk bad ( the long bomb down the sidelines that was caught a half yard out of bounds and ruled a catch). However, I can't blame CAK for poor officiating. Yall's offense is a machine, and even though we came up with 3 turnovers they still slipped by with a W. The only reason it seemed like we were playing rough or dirty is because you HAVEN'T played us before. That is how we play every game, and we are sound tackler's. Polk loves to turn on that hit stick, and go to town. I wish CAK luck next week. They will need it. Polk exposed there offense a bit, and the only reason we didn't shut down there passing attack is because we lack the personnel to defend the craziest high school offense I have ever seen. If Alcoa watches this tape and they use our scheme, I believe it will be a long night for CAK. Good luck to the rest of your season even though it will probably end at the same place the regular season ended for you guys, and I hope your receiver's injury isn't to serious. Hopefully we see you guys in the same place next year. It would be another great match up. And once again Polk Fans It's time to look forward to next year. THE EAGLE HAS LANDED

Just saying I will be attending the game tonight, and whoever snotbubble is your sad. You must have not to much better to do but sit around and figure out who certain people are. Thanks for throwing my personal life into a post on a high school game just because you didn't like what I had to say. I will enjoy my Camels at the game tonight during half time when we are up by 7. Oh by the way if you guys want to know the real reason why I quit please come find me for those of you who know who I am. I honestly do not care what all of you people think. I have supported this team even when I had my differences with 90% of the players. AKA my Junior and Senior year, but whatever my prediction stands the same, and I think Polk still comes away with the victory. Hope the game is injury free, and I do apologize for slandering the CAK kids in my first post, but im pretty sure the crap talking has gone both ways. I just rather enjoy slinging it back. First of all I played ball for 10 years, and secondly I haven't missed a Polk game I could attend this year mind it except the Alcoa McMinn Central game or the South Pitt Signal Game. I also only missed one game last year, and it happened to be our first loss. SO, I do happen to know a bit about this Polk team, and to all the posters that said I havent seen Alcoa play wrong. I have seen them play several times. Mind it this year I witnessed a beat down, but nevertheless we beat down the same team. I honestly am not worried about Alcoa right now, CAK is the team to worry about right now. I wonder however, why there are so dang many Alcoa posters this week in our thread. Ummmm if I recall they play a team that could very well beat them this week maybe they should jump on over to the appropriate thread. Sorry about my confidence, and sorry I am only 20 you old men need to get over yourselves. Its a shame that even the Polk fans do not back me up 90% of the time, but what is funny that like you guys, I have called 95% of Polk's games right the last few years. Mind it if we advance my posts may be a little bit more... humble next week, but I honestly think we can take a team that lost to Alcoa by 17 points any day of the week. Alcoa is maybe a touchdown better than us. I, however see them as our equal in ability, but that is just me. And to the guy that is posting the picture of pain, and agony. Ok I have been slacking this year as far as posts, but you know what I thought I would post my thoughts on this one. First of all I do not get to attend this one, and I am highly upset,but anywho lets see. All I ever here from the "speed oriented" or "pass oriented" teams is "oh Polk is a power team they can't keep up with our speed" or "our receivers our two good for them." Want examples posts from this year and last year's South Pitt games (both of which we one fairly easily) , or last years McMinn Central game (we beat them 48-12). Fact of the matter is we play with heart, and determination, and when you have those things and some of the best coaching in the state you can beat these finesse teams with a power team. Am I worried CAK will beat us? Sure I am. Am I worried they will kill us? Not at all. To all of you CAK/Alcoa fans that I have seen on here I would take Polk over you two any day, and I would because we play well against teams that rely on speed or finesse. There are very few teams that does what Polk does, and when Polk faces a team that plays similar football to them they struggle. Honestly, I am more scared of Loudon than I am CAK or Alcoa. It is not that Loudon is better it is that they play our kind of football. Which is something we struggle with. You best believe Coach Derrick will have CAK pretty much nailed down by Friday, and if Polk executes his game plans Polk will be headed back to Benton with a victory. Also, to all the people posting about our scrimmages earlier. Polk has for as long as I remembered played poorly in pre-season scrimmages. I can't peg it right as to why, but example last year and this year we scrimmaged South Pitt. In the pre-season scrimmages we got killed, but I do believe they had their Pirate rule reversed on them this year in the regular season. Also, last year we had a 27-0 first half lead, and won 36-28. What I am trying to say is pre-season really doesn't factor into this match up AT ALL. Honestly, the regular season doesn't matter much. Friday night is going to come down to who wants it more, and honestly CAK better factor in them turnovers cause Polk likes to feast, and Mr. Hargrove will come up big all night in the backfield. Our offense is no push over either, and trust me when I say this, your defense will look like Middle school kids by the end of the night. Lastly, Whoever posted the picture of Coach D being carried off the field, and gave the Polk kids crap for it, I feel sorry for whichever team you pull for. I feel this way because your kids must not feel much passion for the game. They must be a bunch of selfish athletes that luckily enough had a good coach, and a big city to pull kids from. We do not enjoy that luxury, but we enjoy the luxury of family. Polk football players, coaches, and fans are like one big family. Honestly, I know every player personally, as does most of the town, and excuse us for carrying our coach off the field. In a town where we actually care about our team, and our players actually see our coach as a father figure I guess that's what you see. Sorry we aren't some city school with a bunch of preppy private school kids who play for themselves and nothing else. No that I let that out, Polk-35 CAK-28 Only a touchdown decides this one. Well time for the south pitt fans to eat that ever so delicious humble pie.... We won and we didnt only win we beat the refs that was the worst officiating I have ever seen in my life. But a wins a win i will be kicking it with some of the players later I think it is pretty safe to say 10-0?

Im so flipping tired of listening about T Rob..... Umm Jared Allen hello? I mean gosh even the radio people give him respect. When cowboy on the redzone was asked if he was to draft a high school fantasy team who is quarterback would be. The answer simply was the kid from Polk. No respect from T rob their. HAHA. Anyways This is going to be a great game and trust me I will say it again. Them speedways boys will never match the speed of Justin Houston from Bradley. Which we shut down after one big play. So let T Rob rip one it doesn't matter. We will shut him down the rest of the night. Btw if all your key players play both ways it makes it really hard to win a ball game. Good luck SP your gonna need it. Just throwing this out there to Polk doesn't run a wing T anymore just saying.

Where are all my Polk people at? We got those cocky SP guys all over our 3a board telling us how bad they are going to beat us. Lets put this simply this game will be decided in the final minutes. Lets see SP's weaknesses is our strengths and Polk's weaknesses is yall's strengths. So this game is going to be interesting, and let me tell you speed does not always beat power i promise you that. Bradley and Central both thought they could beat us with speed. Mind it they ripped one but after that we contained their speed all night. SP is by far the best team we have played this year, but you will never convince me that they have speed that can match Justin Houston from bradley. Oh yeah Polk boys are the hardest hitting group in the state and we have 3 all state bound boys on our defense in Hargrove, Allen, and Akins. You best believe Hargrove will be all over the place, Allen will be cleaning up the secondary, and Akins will be in T Robs face all night. This will be a good game but I promise Polk will be able to limit the South Pitt Kids and trust me SP fans you haven't faced a running attack like us all year. Chase Christian, Tyler Lee, Jared Allen, Chase Mull, and Derrick Saxe. Try and limit us Chase is a man on fire he doesn't go down easily. Everyone have fun be safe these one will be the game of the week and for Polk and SP fans it should be the game of the year.

Well I see my Polk boys dominating this one to, but I also see coach D leaving the starters in until late in the fourth. Our D was wore out Friday. If coach D keeps taking his starters out they will not be ready for South Pitt. So I see Coach D leaving them in to keep them game ready for the time the real game gets here. Polk-56 ND-21

Well Polk has their heads on right this year, so I will definitely agree. Polk will win this one big just like all there games up to South Pitt. Boy that one is going to be interesting. To bad Polk doesn't play Cleveland to so we could all say we own Bradley County. Polk-42 WV-12

Hey congrats to the Bears 4-1 start. They really seem to actually have it going this year. However, I am really getting sick and tired of you Bear fans getting on the red zone every friday and talk about how you should be 5-0 or whatever. Listen my Polk boys come out and beat yall fair and square. Get over it. Polk is ranked #3 in the state for a reason. They are good. Nothing to be ashamed about that you lost to a great team. I will give it to Houston he is good, but after the first quarter Polk smacked him right in the mouth. SO PLEASE, next time you decide to get on the red zone realize Polk and Bradley played a hard fought game and Polk came out on top. Polk is the better team and we will do it again next year. Keep playing hard. I would love to see Bradley only have one loss this year. I doubt it will happen but I can see an 8-2 season no problem. That is not a bad record for a team that is normally the Bradley County doormat.

I think south pit will be our toughest opponent, but i love the fact Bradley is actually for real this year that would have looked bad on us if they went and flopped after we played them close.

Well Bradley looks awesome this year for the first time in a long time. I now know why the Bradley fans week one were saying they are going to beat us (polk). So im going to go with the Bradley boys this week the more they win the better my boys look, and I just think Bradley is better. To much speed for the golden eagles to handle. Well boys Polk shouldn't have been on the field with the Chatt Christian boys. They were way to good, and Sweetwater should be the same way. Polk is going to run away with district this year. I think they have a real shot against South Pitt, but for this post. Polk will run away with this one and will easily be 4-0. Polk-49 Sweetwater-21 I only say 21 because that will be the points that are scored on our b team. and on a side note im curious as to what happened to the kid from chatt christian that was hauled off in the ambulance just curious it looked serious.

Central in a landslide. They are ready to go and probably will only lose one more ball game this year, and that would be against Alcoa. Go Wildcats, see you in a couple weeks hahahaha.
