  1. If Camden wins, I believe if Smith County wins the game is at SC, and if York wins it would be at Camden. We would love to have y'all in the hole next friday, but we have to get by the jamestown smoke-breathin lizards first.
  2. I have figured out the key to victory-be colorblind! Since the TC game in 07 here are the numbers- SC vs. Purple 1-6 SC vs. Red 7-2(both L this year) SC vs. Blue 13-0 SC vs. Black and Gold- 4-0 All losses in 07 and 08 happened to...Purple Teams SC was knocked out of the Playoffs the past two years by ... Purple Teams Soooo....Don't look at the color or name on their uniform Owls, just focus on what you need to do and do it the best you have ever done in it. If you do that you will be winners..no matter what the scoreboard says! Y'all might find the story on the game on the Herald Citizen's website interesting. The two coaches definately have different view points. Break the streak and start a new one! Owls-17 York-14 Go Owls!
  3. I heard half our fans got behind a horse and buggy on the way up and the game was done over before they got there! Smith Co. will have plenty of fans there this week, after all, 99% of neutral parties are pulling for the Owls! Go Owls!
  4. Idk, someone who graduated with a 3.7 at U of A missed a 1st Grade question on are you smarter than a fifth grader.
  5. OK, so the east may be a little tougher, I got ya. There is no way Smith or York could make it anywhere close to this far in the east. Maybe you should look at what these teams have done in the past few years, they were able to hold their own pretty well in the east, which is always said to be harder. Go whine somewhere else! As for the game, the Owls know who York is, and York knows who we are. There is great tradition between them. I would expect this one to be decided by no more than a touchdown either way. Both teams seem to be peaking right now. Should be a packed house and a great game, hopefully the Owls will be fired up once more and keep on rollin'. GO OWLS!
  6. If both teams score 30+ points Dekalb wins. If both are under 30 Maplewood wins. GO TIGGERS!
  7. Thanks!! its just that time my friend ..hey look at it this way ..im worried all right im worried about next week ill have to pick one these 2 teams that im a fan of to win.. man thats going to be tough. I wouldn't be so sure about that
  8. If you look up pass in the dictionary it means to get to another teammate. Throw means to propel through the air, so I am guessing the thrower can hit some long passes. Good Luck to the Owls tomorrow night! Keep on rollin'.
  9. Wouldn't it be a shock if the 2 "Country Boy" teams beat the 2 from the big city? ! Actually Whites Creek High School sets in the Country and it is just under the hills of Joelton TN, and is very much outside the "city limits". Google Earth it.(Whites Creek Pike and Old Hickory Blvd.) ALL you will see around it is Cow pastures and woods & creeks. The school is full of good ole country boys. Really. The school is just down the street from Barbara Mandrells old house. Whites Creek is a little town that has a little history too......it is told that Jesse James and his crew lived and hid out for some time there back in the day. There is one of those "history markers" on the side of the road telling about it. Good luck to both teams . You are welcome for the history lesson. Class dismissed. It you think Joelton is in the country, you have never, ever been to Livingston
  10. They played much harder than in recent weeks. They were also much more fired up. PC has a very good football team but some of their coaching decisions did not make any sense, especially in the 1st half. I was suprised we had the running lanes we did against them. Great Job Owls!
  11. Good Luck to the Owls Friday Night. There is a theory of motivation called hierarchy of needs. This has been modified for football purposes, but here it is: 5.Self-Actualization - playing up to your full potential 4.Esteem - playing to feel like you are a good team 3.Belonging - playing to tell if you are as good as someone else 2.Safety - playing to ensure you are playing again, but not lose and go home 1.Survival - playoffs, lose and go home The needs at the bottom are more important and teams are more motivated when they are at the bottom of the chain, SC has, IMO, been a little higher up on this chain the last couple of games, and the other team has out-motivated us. However, now motivation should be even, since all teams are put at the bottom of this chain for the playoffs. When motivation is even, usually the bigger, stronger, and faster teams survive. However the will, heart, and determination to survive can offset these shortcomings. Many SC teams in the past have won because of this determination. I will be the first to admit I don't get into the games enough, but we all need to come together, get behind our team, and show Pearl Cohn this Friday Night what SCP is all about. Go Owls!
  12. Nah, this must be from G-ville, no trains in Carthage and its a blue truck!
  13. I don't see anyone predicting a blowout, and if they are they should not. Smith Co. York is almost always a close game. The truth is, if the owls play like they did vs. Westy, CC, and parts of some other games they will lose, if they play with the intensity of the games vs. White House or Dekalb IMO they will win.
  14. Smith Co. will need to win this game and have Dekalb win to be District Champs. Who does everyone think will win this one?
  15. Congrats to CC on the win. You all just out played us in the last 26 min. The Owls really missed Silva last night. Who knows, SC may be able to look back at this game again as another turning point for the better, just like the Westy game, b/c we may have been a tad overconfident. IMO, this team could still beat anyone besides Alcoa in 3A if they play to their full potential. GO OWLS!
  16. With a little luck they would be undefeated, they have played a tough schedule and caught some unfortunate breaks.
  17. I believe that some of the the SC faithful are still wondering , otherwise they would be on this thread as usual thumping their chest about how they will dominate , I am looking forward to a good game , and with CC being in a game that"means something" might be just the motivation to get the job done !! It meant something last year (a playoff birth) but it was still 32-0. I have never seen a forum 9 pages long on Wednesday and considered it quiet.
  18. We done some ciphering and with ALL the injuries/illness we can make the trip with the SHORT bus and the money we save on fuel should be enough to buy a trophy ANYTHING is possible "YEAR OF THE UPSET" Sequatchie beat Marion first time in 19 years!! SC beaten by a 1 and 7 Westmoreland ! THE LIONS ARE HUNGRY! Don't forget about RBS, they won two games earlier this year, won't happen in this one though. It will take a little extra feul to get to Cookeville
  19. That was a quick turnaround, a few days ago you were telling us to "call the engraver", and now you are calling for the upset. I guess if Cannon Co. won the district they would have to by a trophy, since they don't have one. Seriously though, how is Cannon looking on the injuries/illness side of things, moving the game up a day sure can't help things. Hopefully Cannon will be at or near 100%. SC may win by wider margin than first thought at Tech. SC wins by 3 or 4 TDs. GO OWLS!
  20. Who would have home field advantage if two teams of the same seed played in the semifinals?
  21. Less voters this week, just 19...I think there was 20 or 21 last week. Good point, that was my bad, should have paid more attention
  22. IMO, this poll looks pretty accurate, with the exception of McMinn Central. Smith Co. played their best game of the year and got less points than they did last week, I am a little confused on that. Not saying they should be in the top 10 yet, just don't understand how they could have less points than last week.
