  1. Interesting topic. Of course it's all guesswork on what everyone weighs. 106- Murphy 113- Chalifoux 120- Oliver 126- Westbrooks- bumping to avoid Oliver and wins state 132- fisher 138- Holloway if he's back 145- sutherland if he's healthy 152 - Davis, Whitman or Simpson 160- doubt Popp stays down, Davis, wittman or Simpson should bump up 170-Popp 182- parker 195-hoodenpyle 220-Phillips Hwy- Robertson
  2. 106-d2 proven 2 x 113- d2 proven multiple times the last couple of years 120-d1 but I would consider this a toss up. The top 2 in both divisions have beaten each other. 126-d2 132-d2 138- no match ups for weight, I would go with any of the top d2 kids due to lack of competition for d1 145- d2 152-d2 160-d2 170- toss up 182-d1 both 1&2 in d1 would win 195- toss up, would love to see this one, slight edge to d1. Hasn't wrestled a tough schedule but appears to be the real deal. 220- d2 Hwt- toss up It appears d2 would smoke d1. The only clear cut winner I see for d1 is at 182. D2 has multiple clear cut winners
  3. . Are you being serious? You do realize Dii would beat d1 pretty bad don't you? wrestling 5-6 matches against not very tough competition doesn't make you better.
  4. Bradley county is not part of the Knoxville community.
  5. Ba ha ha. Your going to count Cleveland, Bradley and Walker Valley as East Tennessee because that the region they put them in? So if they put the Murfreesboro schools in Chattanoogas region are they considered Chattanooga teams
  6. It appears Murphy has been the one on a mission. I could see Santi pulling off an upset. I don't think 132 is the toughest weight even with three champions. I can think of a lot of weights that would be tougher to win. I do think Brunner wins it. Why would Cosgrove be the easy pick? Has he beaten any of them? Best match: Marchetti vs Parrish or Popp vs Hattaway Ow- Baker Best semis- Brunners style doesn't allow for exciting matches. I would go with Santi vs Eckhart
  7. 106- Cyree in a close one 113- Debien dominates 120- Stevinson in a classic 126-Oliver 132- Hamilton 138- Taylor 145- Richmond in a come from behind crazy pin 152- Bennett 160- Lopez 170- Soloman 184- Henry over West in a nail biter 195-Boykin 220- Satterfield Hwt- Reagan Team Champs- Cleveland Ow- Boykin Best match- Stevens vs Stevison or West vs Henry
  8. in 2012 it appears the added weight did allow a few more upperclassmen to wrestle the lightest weight but still a very small number compared to other weights. in 2012 at 106 you had 12th-2, 11th-9, 10th-9, 9th 12 with the champion being a freshman, runner up a 10th grader, 3rd place a senior, 4th place afreshman, 5th a junio 6th a junior. So for the last three years you have had seniors-5, juniors-17, sophmores 28, freshmen 44, 8th graders 3. two champions have been freshmen and one a sophmore
  9. yes there are few public school thst allow 8th graders. 103/106 has always been predominantly younger kids in 2011 the breakdown was 12th- 3, 11th- 3, 10th-10, 9th 15, 8th 1. a 10th grader won the state that year vs a junior. In 2010 the breakdown was 12th-0, 11th 4, 10th-9,9th-17, 8th 2. There wasnt even 1 single participant that was a senior. in fact every placer was a freshman except the 6th place and he was a junior. You can go back every year and its always the same. Do you think you would see numbers like that in anything over 126 lbs?
  10. Ill admitt its not politically correct but he does have a good point. 106 is always the weakest weight class by far just simply due to the fact thats its usually all freshmen.. Thats not to discredit anyone but facts are facts.
  11. Brentwood vs Ensworth in an all nashville final!
  12. dii tournament is not that tough? Why is it not that tough? because there arent as many cream puffs? Have you looked at the lineups and compared weight classes between the two divisions? Not even close this year. as a matter of fact the depth was actually much tougher for dIi in some weights. There was only one weight where i had DI as the clear cut favorite and even that weight wasnt a given. If there was a dual meet between the two it would have been very lopsided. DIi would win by 30+ pts this year. 106- 1) division II, 2) Div I, 3) Div I, 4) Toss up, 5) Div II , 6) Div II 113- 1&2) toss up, 3-6 Div II 120) 1&2) toss up, 3) div II, 3) Div I, 3-6 div II 126) 1) div II, 2) div II, 3) div 1, 4)div I 5) div I, 6) div I 132 1) Div I, 2-6 Div II 138 1) div II, 2) div II, 3) div I, 4-6 Div II 145 1) Div II, 2) div I, 3) Div I, 4) div II 5&6) div I 152 1) Div II, 2) div II, 3-6) toss up 160)1) div II, 2) div II, 3) div II, 4-6) div I 170)1) div II, 2) div I, 3) div II, 4) div I, 5) div II, 6) div II 182) 1) div II. 2) div I, 3) div I, 4) div I, 5) div II, 6) div I 195) 1-2) toss up, 3) div II, 4-6) div I 220) 1)div II, 2) div I, 3) div I, 4) div I, 5) divII, 6) div I Hwt) 1&2) toss up 3-6 dont know
  13. fair fight? Did the opponent bring a chair, chain, knife on the mat? How exactly did the kid cheat? Explain that as we arent understanding exactly what he did? We can get a public opionion vote.
  14. No, Nothing with me personally, Ive just noticed your comments always have a little edge or bite to them when its not called for. I think you may be mad at the world all the time or just have a general lousy dispostion.
  15. I looked back at that list and you werent on it except for once. I try to block your ignorant statements out so much that I even forgot to include you. As far as spelling. Im sorry I have fat fingers and hit an incorrect button. Its hard to type and drive this tractor at the same time but thanks for being your normal self and pointing it out. But before you cast stones go check your spelling in your original post on this thread. The one where you set down and were trying to sound intelligent. I think you meant Eligible instead of edible. Maybe you did mean edible, in that case you are even more strange than your post indicate.
  16. And thus we know why ole Maj was on everyones list of most hated psoters. At least he is consistent.
  17. Indisoputable to who? To you? Because you say its indisputable nobody else has a right to their opionion? You have yet to acknowledge that the McCallie wrestler did nothing the entire match. You have yet to entertain the idea that maybe by draping over his opponent and grabbing the ankles he was causing the stalemates. You can think your opionion is the right one all you want but the majority of the people do not agree with you. It doent matter though because what is done is done.
  18. Its easy to score off of someone diving in with their head down. You hand fight and take away his hands, you downblock, you catch him in a front headlock. he did none of these things and in fact let Mosley get in deep on his leg everytime and then draped across him and grabbed ankles.
  19. you have failed yet again to address the issue. The McCallie wrestler did nothing in the entire match. Isnt a stalemate when TWO opponents can not better their position? So wasnt the McCallie wrestler at fault for doing nothing but sprawling and holding on? Wasnt the McCallie wrestler simply waiting om his opponent to shoot the entire match so he could drape over him and grab an ankle? Was the McCallie wrestler not as guilty of causing the stalemates if not more so. At least Mosley was trying to shoot although because his opponent was much longer and grabbed his ankles each time you feel it was stalling. Ok, thats your opionion and you are entitled to it but let me sk you this and lets see if you have any credibility or are you just always going to take the side of the official. Give us an example of a bad call you have seen? Did you watch the state duals between Baylor and Cbhs? Did you see the last match? I felt that was the worst officiated match I have ever seen. What are your views on that one?
  20. Did the Tssaa have a photographer taking pictures? If so where can we view and purchase these?
  21. I think the whole definition of stalemate needs to be considered here. Isnt a stalemate when two wrestlers can no longer move into a better position? Shouldnt the whole pace of the match be considered? If I remove myself from the situation and look at it from the refs point of view I can somewhat understand a slight argumanet. BUT if I was a ref I would take into consideration the following: A)Berz had no offense. Berz was just waiting the entire time to use his length advantage to try and score off of Moselys shot. c) was just as guilty if not more so of creating the stalemates. It is not the offensive wrestlers duty to change his offense because the other wrestler is being allowed to stand there and do nothing but sprawl and use his long arms to grab your ankle. Please take 5 minutes to watch it again without your ref glasses on, pretend you are a father Ryan fan and hopefully you can atleast see it was questionable. Do you honestly think Berz was offensive at any point in this match? If your answer is yes then you are guilty of what we are saying and that is you guys stick together through thick and thin even when the call was wrong. I do not think it was done intentionally. I do not think anybody was trying to screw anybody over. I think the ref in that match is a very good ref. I just think this was a bad call at a very bad time. Now if Berz was being the agressor and Mosely was diving in on a leg to stop berz's offense then we would have a different argument. I will have to Watch the Ward match again as I only watched it in person and that was my gut reaction at that time. I felt he was the agressor the entire match and pushed the pace of the match and kept Marchetti on the defensive the whole time and I am a Father Ryan fan. I guess by the technical letter of the rule book that isnt taken into consideration.
  22. After reading all the posts and watching the video a million times I still think it was a bad call. Do I think the ref did it on purpose? No, I would hope not. I think it was just a bad call. Did Mosely get in on that shot a million times only to be stalemated? Yes he did but it was because his opponent who had a huge length advantage draped over him and grabbed the ankle. Was Mosely supposed to let go of the leg and give up two points to a wrestler who hadnt attempted one offensive move? Berz made no attempts to do anything but stalemate each of Moselys shots. Never in a million years would I call a stall on the man who has done everything in the match in favor of the wrestler who is just sprawling and stalemating without trying to score himself. That whole "you must try to improve your position" point of view should have been called against Berz if it was to be called at all. There were a lot of odd calls this year it seemed but it is what it is unfortunatley. I do think for the most part the refs are good and try their best. Its a hard job and sometimes they make mistakes, sometimes its a judgement call and they have a split second to make a decision without the benefit of watching a replay 100 times as we have. Unfortunately in this case it was at a very bad time for Mr Mosley. I thought the stall call against Ward was unwaranted as well and it could have changed the outcome of the match. As much as I wanted Marchetti to win Ward did control the flow of the match the entire time. I thought the stall calls against Westbrooks were bad as well and it very well may have caused him to get out of his game plan but Im not sure it would have made a difference as Bruner seemed to be on a mission.
  23. well, I guess my prediction was right and you were wrong. I will admitt I didnt expect them to choke this bad. Im just kidding it wasnt a choke job. They simply werent ready for this caliber tournament. I predicted them 16th and they finished out of the top 20. I predicted pigeon Forge to beat them and boy did they ever! Great job Pigeon Forge. The "c" kids do not wrestle enough quality opponents during the year to be competetive in tight matches. You need a whole season of those type battles to be able to win consistently.
