It took 2 pages for some moron to post the "recruiting" comment on a page of two private schools facing each other. You will never win this battle, you will just continue throwing stones against a solid wall. However, I hope you are right about the Gold Ball...for CAK as well!

It will be good to see our secondary go against the air attack of CAK. We have some athletes back there, but....we need to really tighten up the coverage this week. Anderson County had a few successful completions and our guys were able to hang tough against them. Completely different caliber of athletes coming this week. CAK will throw it all night long, hope we can keep up. This should be a good game for both schools, regardless of the outcome. You guys are averaging over 400 yds per game, how much of the 400+ yds comes on the ground?

As much as it pains me to say this, I think the guys from south Morgan County win this one. I certainly hope that the northern guys can pull off the victory. Hope your QB is on the money and your defense holds the line. If not, the southern boys will rule.

That's a great honor to retire the jersey of Ryan. A life cut short way too soon. The Greenback nation has had a tough year, just know that even though we are rivals in the same district, I know that our team and coaches have had a heavy heart for you guys. Tough times make tougher people. Glad to see you guys 2-0 against a tough schedule thus far. Best of luck to both teams as you begin district play.

Hope you guys get it worked out. I know its frustrating to the whole team right now, but a big W this week will get some of that bitterness out. This was a hard fought game. Depending on which side you are on, you can say "We won this one" or "We didn't execute well". The fact is, that a small 2A team came in with an incredible determination to win that AC couldn't respond. AC played well, probably should have won the game if their special teams were tightened up. What I saw was a GCA team that played fewer than 20 kids on offense and defense combined, refusing to lose. AC will be fine, you guys got hit by a team that was more fired up than you were, more focused than you were, and were out coached. It happens to the best of them, ask Fulmer (and I'm a Fulmer fan). I think you guys overlooked us as a smaller school that couldn't match up with your substitutions. I really enjoyed your campus and stadium, it was a big time atmosphere. Best of luck to the MAVS the rest of the year, we'll see you next year at GCA. Thanks for the hospitality.

I should clarify my previous statement that "every" player we have is from another school. We are getting to the point where several of our players are GCA "lifer's" (attended GCA since Kindergarten). And we're proud that our players have been with us since they were 5 years old!

Riverside is the #1 ranked single A team in the state. I've read all of your posts about the Riverside vs. South Pitt matchup. Riverside AND South Pitt have to win to get there. South Pitt is in a new arena, as is GCA. A good record doesn't mean anything this time of year. I'm not knocking South Pitt or Riverside. If you guys meet, then the records are accurate. Hale should have been there and should have been one of the featured backs. Single A discrimination at its finest. Let him play on the big stage and see what he's made of against the biggers schools. My hunch is that he would have juked a few players out of their jocks, then ran away from them to the end zone. GCA had the single A lineman Mr Football and he wasn't invited either. Not sure if our probation had something to do with that or not, but he also should have been there.

Tell Coach Reynolds to call Coach McKamey. We are new to AA football, but it would be a good home/home. We've played Grace Baptist the past couple of years as a home/home. This could be a good test for both teams, better for you guys this year as we are ineligible for the playoffs. You guys are a top program, good luck in the search, I think we are in the same position, just not sure of the weeks.

I agree with what you guys are saying, but would SP really want to drive all the way to Washburn to play a basketball or baseball game? I live in Knoxville and I wouldn't want to drive to Washburn to play anything. Just a thought, it would be a really long road trip for a game. I do agree, you shouldn't be able to cherry pick your sports.

I realize "obliged" is a word, "obligated" would have been more appropriate in this context. Davis Frank is the only player that should have been on the list from "Knox Grace", he was the only one from our squad good enough to be considered. I read your entire post before I posted, I do comprehend what you were saying. There's no reason to say that anyone felt "obliged" to put Davis on anything. He's on there because he deserves to be on the All State Team. I think we understand each other. Considering the forum, I couldn't allow anyone to say that Davis squeaked onto the team because someone felt "obliged" to put him there. He is a Class Act, on and off the field.

I also think that Hale should have been on the team. Political lists and awards are what's wrong with sports. Vote on stats and on the field accomplishments. The vote should be 1/2 stats/accomplishments in the arena, 1/4 academics, 1/4 character of the athelete.

Why would you think they feel "obliged" (obligated) to put a Mr. Football recipient on the All State Team? I feel that every Mr. Football winner should be on the All State Team. Nice Job Davis, you are not only a Great football player, but an even better Student and Person. You deserve this honor, you ARE an ALL STATE player. Congrats. RAM PRIDE!

Rockwood should be solid again next year, they have a good looking group of kids that should return. Harriman loses several key players that have played well for them the past few years. Greenback has been young the past couple of years, that should serve them well over the next 2 years. They will be strong. Tellico Plains could suprise a few teams, they need a good year and are due one. Midway is struggling, and from what I understand, they are looking for a coach. That could be the spark they need to get them moving back in the right direction. Greenback and Rockwood should again take the playoff spots in our region.

Congrats Davis! You are everything that the Mr. Football award is about. You and your brother, along with your family, are all class acts. You will be missed. I hope you will continue to stay around the program in the future, and encourage our young Rams to follow in your path. You have brought home one of the highest awards in the state to GCA. Good luck in the off season and with your continued career.
