I think some credit has to be given to ER.
Agree. Consideration must be given to the source. Coach Brooks at East obviously did a heck of a job getting his players’ minds right. I don’t see it so much as X’s and O’s but getting the Jimmys and Joes ready to play. That’s what it’s about in the playoffs.

Must be something magical about that Baxter dirt
I guess that depends on what the bar is for “magic” in a program. Congratulations on the quarter final win.

There has to be some Smith County people that hate that gal with the horn.

Wishful thinking on your part. They couldn’t beat Upperman on their home field. They will not win in Baxter.
This is random speculation based on a one score game. Upperman may very well win the game. May win it handily. However, to say “They will not win in Baxter” implies some mythical stardust garnishes the sidelines at Baxter field.

Westy stops #6 and #7 and its a long night for the sweat bees at the creek bank... If we can't then its a long night for the Eagles.
This is what I know, our defense can 100% stop them just like they did the D1 ER offense..... however, they have to show up, and I can't ever give a for sure if they will or not.
Y’all always have a good defense. If you stop those two it may be 0-0 indefinitely.

The Real Question is if TC loses, then the longest playoff streak in the state will no longer belong to TC....does that mean B.Satt will be gone or we going to play some more daddy ball? Just asking for a friend!!
B Satt has a kid on the team?!

Then is it safe to say that when the D was playing lights out a few years ago… it was more about Jimmy and Joes than Hackett?
I’m not trying to stir the pot here, but you can’t have it both ways.
When H2O was playing it’s best defense all that everyone kept saying is that Hackett was a defensive genius and not much said about the kids playing D.
Now that our defense is horrible… it’s because the kids are not good enough and none of it rides on Hackett?
Hackett is a good DC. However, those dudes you guys had for several years made him look like Bear Bryant. Good players make coaches look better than they are and not so good players make coaches look worse than they are.
That’s every coach, not just throwing shade at H2O. That’s why you see coaches leave when they see the writing on the wall. They aren’t going to stick around for the talent run out.

Cascade is still Cascade. Watertown isn’t the Watertown they were when we were battling it out every year. We at TC aren’t the same either. Public school cycles happen.

Good programs get, retain, and develope good players.
Upperman obviously has an improved program over the last decade. Credit is due the coaching staff, as it’s apparent they do a good job. This is in no way an effort to discredit what’s been done with Upperman’s program, or the way it got where it is today. Many things go into a successful program.
To say their success is in no part due to the circumstances in Putnam County is not truthful, at best. The “build it and they will come” argument is true no doubt, but generally applies to state championship caliber programs. Upperman has more likely benefited from the poor state of Cookville football and the opportunity for athletes to play in a smaller classification. This was evident at Friendship Christian for years in Wilson County. To compare Smith County and Macon County to Upperman’s situation is a position that’s just not logical.

Gordonsville with the dub. Trousdale isn’t what it used to be but you never complain when you go to TC and come out with a win. Gordonsville likely will win out. Will the real Trousdale County please stand up?
Im just keeping it real
We just aren’t very good right now. Hopefully the ship can be righted. We will see.

If Sumner County had this many issues lurking can you imagine how many stadiums throughout the state are a disaster waiting to happen?
