  1. Tyner didn't do much against Ooltewah last week, but that doesn't mean anything. Signal looked good last week, but still has a lot of things to clean up. The Rams will no doubt want some revenge for that one point loss last year, and they always play Signal tough. As I said earlier, I think Signal can compete with everyone on our schedule this year, and this will be another exciting game on the Mountain. Signal can win this game, but the guys need to get their minds right. They have gotten too used to losing the past couple of years. When you are out manned and out gunned but give it your all, there is no shame in getting beaten by a superior opponent. That's not the case this year, and losing a game like we did last week should not be acceptable to these guys. They need to clean up the stupid mistakes, stay aggressive, and learn how to finish off an opponent. There is not an easy game on our schedule this season, but this team has the potential to win every week. I guess we'll find out if they have the swagger, positive mental attitude, and mental toughness to get the job done. I'll predict my Eagles win this one 31-21. GO EAGLES ! ! !
  2. Canes win 36-31 in an agonizingly long game. I never have been a fan of the spread offense, and when both teams run it, I can hardly stand to watch. It is what it is, though. You have to run what you have the players to run. Both teams have speed and talent, but not the big guys. Both teams played hard, and the players are to be commended. Typical first game mistakes on both sides. Kudos to the EH staff for making the appropriate defensive adjustments in the second half. Overall, a very competitive game that could have gone either way. Hopefully, both teams will learn from the experience and get better every week. Things are improving on Signal. We just need to keep a positive mental attitude and get back to where we expect to win, learn to finish and learn to win. Should be an exciting season.
  3. Halftime Signal Mountain 28 East Hamilton 19
  4. I always enjoy the opening game against the Canes. This has been the first game of the season for both schools since they opened. Currently, it stands at 4-4. You just never know what each team has or how the guys will handle first-night jitters and getting punched in the mouth. I like our chances tonight, but you just never know. Gotta love high school football. GO EAGLES ! ! !
  5. Now Boogey, you noses them ain't games ... they'z recruitin' fairs.
  6. We don't have a lot of size or experience up front, but the guys are well coached and do their job pretty well. I'm looking for a competitive and exciting game.
  7. Southtowner is correct with his game prediction, but both you guys know you don't mow Bermuda with a rotary mower.
  8. I think the leprechauns has got a LOT better this year. They've growed some linemen from somewheres, and talent all over the field. QB looks like he will have an outstanding year. And yes ... I think Baylor will struggle this season with DII AAA teams.
  9. Sux to git old, don't it? I can scribe you something to help with the dribblin'.
  10. Looks like the Sisters lifted the salary cap on 3rd Street with the move to DII. A good friends said he thinks ND will win, and he wuz serious. Said Baylor didn't have the speed to contain the leprechauns. I don't know and don't really care, but this should be an exciting game.
  11. Looks like the Caines got some speed and skill players, but not so much on the line. I like my Eagles' chance in this one, especially as a home opener.
  12. There's a difference between keepin' 'em clean and rubbin' the hide off of 'em ... just sayin' At least we got the numbers back up, and the guys are having fun. That's a step in the right direction. I think we'll hold our own against most opponents this year. I thought yer leprechauns looked good. Looks like the sisters removed the salary cap, and some new Catholics moved into the neighborhood. Hard to tell without seein' a roster. At any rate, y'all should do well this year in the store-bought league, until you run into some of those schools with deeper pockets. As for my status, you know it is Irrevocable Lifetime All-Access ... unless somebody hacks my e-mail server or produces video evidence ... just sayin'
  13. I didn't see the Trickster tonight. Is he off the team? Ther wuz some little white-bearded leprechaun polishing Fant's balls tonight.
  14. That danged crumb rubber will git compacted, too ... and it's harder to disimpact than momma ...
  15. Women come and women go. Some are easier to get along with than others. I raised three of the female species, and I learned the best thing is just to ignore 'em for the most part.
  16. Yea, but they had to put in drains for the turf. Could have installed real turf on top of that drain and had some premo Bermuda.
  17. Artificial turf fields also get compacted, and It takes special equipment to aerate and clean the infill. Not something that can be borrowed from Joe at the golf course. If the manufacturer's maintenance schedule isn't followed, the fabric deteriorates prematurely and the warranty will often be voided. G Max testing of artificial turf
  18. Now you've done it. You're gonna stir up all kinds of mental Master Debation from all these hosers.
  19. Kind of quiet over hear, ain't it Boogs. Didn't them Sword of Joshua Christian get them an ACC coach a few years back?
  20. I don't know if these are the best in the state, but the guys at Union City Turf Management do a pretty darn good job. https://www.facebook.com/Union-City-Turf-Management-345458790223/
  21. Several guys who played high school ball and are now at UT Knoxville have started a fund to help this young man's family with their medical expenses. Just thought I would share with everybody. https://jande136.wixsite.com/baylorbramble/about-us
  22. Cain't say I'm surprised. I actually like CookeVegas, but my needs are pretty basic. A clean shower, a cheap bed, and some reasonable food. They do need to continue to put some money into updating the facility at Tennessee Tech. More than anything, I'd like to see T$$AA put some effort into improving the television production and broadcasting. GPB and GHSA do a great job with the Georgia Championship games. A slick TV production actually captures the excitement of the Championships and gets people excited about wanting to make the effort to be there in person. After watching the Georgia Championships for a couple of years, I finally went to Hotlanta for a couple of days, spent my money, watched a lot of good football, and had a blast. It's just good business.
