  1. He's just young RW87...he hasn't been able to experience the finer things in life like...touchdown cookies! Given all this new info, I'd say Stars will have to re-cipher his predictions for Friday night. I'm guessing he's changing his spread from a - 53.2 points to - 54.7 points...Smoky Bears!
  2. A bit of advice for future posts...keep your info within the Rebel family and not on these boards! Not all "facts" need to be shared!
  3. Just to clarify...are you a Rebel or Bear supporter?
  4. there is a link posted on the oakland-blackman thread on pg 4 or 5....
  5. Oh yes...he is strutting around like Boss Hog tonight! I've got him beside me now listening/scouting the Oakland-Blackman game online!
  6. Excellent - I'll say 3...Prevo on a 60 yarder! RW87, between you and Mr 200's sweetie, we are a spoiled bunch!
  7. 7. there will be extra seats available in the woo section tomorrow night, so come on up! there will be the usual wagering, lies and consumption of touchdown cookies, coffee and blowpops....don't tell mamaSTARS though, we'll run out before the national anthem!
  8. That is great news!! By the way, I won't be at the game tonight...have to be in Nashville. Giving 2 of my tickets to one of MLREB's relatives that I work with, so they may be sitting in the "woo crew" section with you guys tonight!
  9. QB 13 got a good report from the doctor today. No surgery needed, healing as expected. Still out for rest of season, but back in time for baseball in January. Thanks for the prayers!
  10. No Stars, you've got it mixed up....ML is "richie" and RR is "buster"...And they are "despised"!
  11. Ole STARS posted this on another thread....GREAT interview with GQ! A man among men... http://blip.tv/anyth...quarles-6638470
  12. Good question! If anything, you would think it would help the football kids who also play baseball (or baseball kids who also play football!).
  13. Well, so far so good for mine. He has not felt "pressured" to pick between the two yet. Not saying it won't happen (or hasn't happened with some upperclassman), but it hasn't so far with my son. I'm sure baseball may be the "stepchild" to a football coach, just like football might be the "stepchild" to a baseball coach (ask the Farragut kids). However, all I can speak to are our own experiences and interactions, and they have been positive.
  14. My son is a freshman and plays both football and baseball... He works out with the football team in the morning, even during baseball season. However, on game days the coaches allow and encourage them to not go too hard on those days so they are fresh for the game later that night. The coaches know which kids play baseball and have been very supportive of them. They also seem to be understanding if they have tests or school work that might need to take priority over workouts, especially if they play multiple sports. As for this summer, we are getting ready to experience how it will work tyring to balance travel baseball with football workouts. Although we will be gone 24 days this summer for tournaments, it looks like he'll only miss 3-4 days of football workouts with the way they fall (weekends, dead period, etc.). Having 6:30am workouts help as well, as he can work out that morning, then hit the road later that day for tournaments. If you miss more than 5 during the summer, I believe the kids have to do hard yards after practice for every workout they miss over 5. And, they may have to pass a conditioning drill as well (however, that may only be for linemen...not 100% sure). I spoke with one of the coaches about it and he was very supportive of the kids playing both sports. So, I'd say a kid wouldn't have to choose between multiple sports if they are willing to put in the time on the field / weightroom and can handle keeping their grades up.
  15. From the Maryville City Schools website: "Our schools serve students who reside within the city limits of Maryville, as well as a small number of tuition students."
  16. I can attest to this...when we moved to East TN a couple of years ago, we specifically moved into the city of Maryville for this very reason. One of our kids would not have been accepted as a tuition student if we lived outside the city, because of overcrowding in their grade. So, Maryville city it is!
  17. Congrats to the Whitehaven players, coaches and community. I know you are proud of these kids and the joy and pride they have brought to Memphis...now and for years to come. I am impressed with what you are building there and look forward to epic battles on the field in the future. You can tell Coach Saulsberry is a good man and a good role model for those kids. Very humble and respectful guy. Same can be said for your principal...he gave a nice interview at halftime and was styling with that tiger hat! Best of luck next season.
  18. You are correct on them playing only once...at least according to the Maryville program. I was 6 when they played, just a young pup dreaming of playing at Johnnie Hale one day.
  19. Welcome to Maryville! I too am from Milan and live here now. Also, Jeff Smith is here as well...his boys all played at Maryville, and mine is a frosh in the system now!
